I have been chuckleling at the threads calling for "native" Califorians.....as there are actually so few of them :D . So, who here is really "native"?

I'll start.....I was born in Port Hueneme CA in 1961 :D . My DH was born in Oxnard CA in 1960, and my DD was born in Ventura CA in 1991. All of those cities are in Ventura county .

Of course all of us natives now live in Boise;)

I'm not a native Californian, but I work in Camarillo - also in Ventura county. I live in Aloha Oregon - just west of Portland.

Native Californian? Not me. I was born in North Kingstown, RI but I moved a lot(my dad was in the Navy). Ultimately, my dad retired from the Navy out of Port Hueneme. My mom still lives in Oxnard and I live about 30-40 minutes away from her.

BTW, I also work in Camarillo...

I was born in Fullerton, and lived 4 blocks from Disneyland until I was 10. I could see the fireworks from my back yard. I am an East Oregonian now.

I'm a native Californian. I was born and still reside in the Napa Valley.

My mom is a native Californian. She was born and still resides in the Napa Valley.

Her mother is was a native Californian. She was born in the Napa Valley and resided until her death in 1953 in the Napa Valley.

Her father was born in Oakland, California and her mother was born in San Francisco. They lived in downtown San Francisco during the 1906 earthquake. My grandmother was taken from her crib shortly before the wall next to it colapsed, crushing the crib! [I almost wasn't!!!]

And so on and so on. As a matter of fact. My great, great .......
[whatever] grandfather was the first white child born in the State of California -- he was born in Martinez. His mother and father were on a ship from a small French country that doesn't exist any more. Came around South America, up the coast of "California" and when she was ready to deliver him, they docked at Martinez and "dumped" her off. He took off with the boat. Nice guy, huh?

So, there you go, -- native Californian -- and that doesn't even touch on my dad's side!

Proud to be a Californian. :Pinkbounc

I'm a native Californian (born in 67) and my husband is also (born in 1948). We both were born in San Diego, as was our son.

I'm a native too :D

I was born in Northridge. Raised in Santa Clarita (where Magic Mountain is). Spent a year elsewhere when 18, and have been in Santa Clarita since.

My husband was born in Reseda, raised in Sylmar and then Nevada and back to SoCal. His Dad was born/raised in San Fernando.

Our girls were born in Woodland Hills.

My mom is a native too...born in the San Fernando Valley. Has NEVER lived anywhere but SoCal.

Well, I'm ALMOST a native Californian. My mom was a native Californian, and I moved here when I was 2. At 5 years we moved to Carson, and I'm still here. Friend_of_Piglet - we're neighbors! :)

My rascals are native Californians! All 16 & 15 years of their lives. ;)

I'm about as native as you can get. I was born in Southern California . My great great great grandfather was Antonio Yorba whom Yorba Linda is named after.
If you want to go further than that my family are also a registered members of a California coastal indian tribe.

What an interesting thread. It reminds me of my uncle, who moved to Texas about 10 years ago. He was just telling me that at his job, there's only one guy who is a native Texan - and his company employs 150 people!:earseek:

I guess California is sort of the same.;)

I am a native Southern California Beach Girl. I was born in Newport Beach, CA (think of the show OC).

I can't imagine living anywhere else.

I'm not a native, I've never even lived in California, I just wanted to say that there is some really interesting history here. I love this kind of stuff! VERY COOL INFO!
