Who needs May/June codes?

Sue Ellen is a moderator here on the Dis. She has the right to remove the code as it is NOT a public code which means it is not "allowed" here on the Dis. I can assure you that if it were a code everyone could use Mary from Mousesavers would have it advertised as would DU.

I know you are trying to help others but because it is not public the Dis does not want to be responsible for advertising it. I'm sure you understand.

I have been reading these posts for days and finally decided to call and try to get the code for myself. Talk to a very nice CM and first asked about Florida Res rates for March but nothing out yet. Then told him I had a code that I heard about on the internet and he said he would check to see if it required a pin. He looked it up and said it was a direct mail code that their marketing dept mailed out to certain people and it did require a pin . . . but he also said you would not need the code if it was already on your profile. He looked up my info and it was not on my profile so I could not book. So as mentioned before some of the people that were able to get the code may have the pin already on their profile therefore not needing the postcard with the pin. But if you get there and the discount with pin isn't on your profile I'm not sure what would happen. Just wanted to let you guys know.

Hey everyone. Just thought I would add my bit with the code. I called this afternoon to see about rates for the POFQ and AKL. I'm visiting June 17th-27th. After about a million questions on my profile she quoted me for the stay which had to be close to rack rate. Then I told her I heard of a code but I wasn't sure if you needed a pin or postcard to use it, that several people thought you might need one. She told me that the code did not need a pin or postcard and she would refigure my rate. I'm going to be paying $95 a night for a waterview at the POFQ which I am very happy with!! :Pinkbounc The AKL was discounted to maybe $230 a night savannah. POFQ was a much better savings IMHO. I spoke to the CM very honestly and asked her several times if I needed to have a pin or card she answered me with a very firm NO each time. This was defintely a you won't need anything at checking response not a I don't think so. She said I would be getting my reservations in the mail and that it would state that the code was applied and I would need nothing else. My CM was extremely friendly and helpful and I didn't pushfor the code just simply asked if it was a possibility. I do think there is a very limited qty of this code because as she was looking she kept saying she hoped there was some left for those nights. So thanks again, can't wait until June!! :earboy2:

I called and asked for availability with a discount code, told the CM the code and told her that if it was pin based, I did NOT have the pin. She looked it up and said that it was not a pin based code. She looked up availability for me at WL and quoted me discounted room rates for std, woodsview, courtyard and concierge. Before I hung up I confirmed with her that it was not a pin based code and she said that no pin was needed. She was very friendly and reiterated several times that it was not a pin based discount code.

Now that I've read the post above mine, we did go through a lot of profile information before we looked up the rooms with the code. So it is entirely possible that the code was available due to my profile, but she didn't mention it and I didn't ask.

I'm curious - have folks been using the toll free number or some using the 407 number to make these reservations with the code? I wouldn't think it would make a difference, but you never know!

Thanks!

Well, I think I'll wait until this code appears on Mary's website to be safe. I'd hate to check in and find out that I needed a postcard. But you better believe that I'll be keeping my eye on this one. Thanks to the op for sharing this with us though.

Well, that's good to hear. I had been fretting about this all afternoon. (I thought about calling, but since DH is listed as the "primary" guest on the ressie, and I've had problems before trying to discuss a reservation with a CM since I wasn't the primary guest, I decided not to.) I suppose the PIN was already on our profile since there was no mention of a code by either the CM or my DH when we were booking. I will be curious to see if the code is listed on our confirmation letter. We may call after we see the letter.

Just booker WL for $139 in May using this code, and when I asked, (twice), if a PIN was needed, was told "absolutely not". I did get the impression that it was not for the general public, though. I've got a confirmation #, so I'm not worried. I don't think Disney was ever going to get rich on me, regardless.

Thanks!

I always use the toll free #, why spend my dime when I can spend theirs

Hey everyone got a little nervous so I called Disney again. The cast member I originally received told me the same thing, there was no pin needed, but she didn't sound as sure as the first so I asked again. This time she said she would call guest services to make sure, after a wait of about 10-15 mins she came back and said the pin would be needed at check in. I explained to her that I didn't have a pin that I asked several times to the original CM if it was needed and she said no. She said the original CM who took the reservation was wrong and she would be receiving an email correcting her. OK now what?? I explained to her that I asked several times when making my reservations if there was a pin required and I am not at fault because I even called back to double check. The CM told me she would put me through to guest services who explained yes a pin is usually needed at check in but they would honor my reservations and I would not need a pin that it was noted in the system. I told her there was probably many more people in my situation, what would happen to them at check in? She said she didn't know how it would be handled but a pin was needed, however towards the end of the conversation she contradicted herself and said that they wouldn't have asked for the pin anyway. I know this doesn't help very much, but I'm happy I can sleep tonight of hopefully a hassle free disney visit. :cool1: Any questions let me know but I think I covered the majority of the conversation...just be careful when booking and for those of you who already have with the code, beware that they might ask you for the pin.

PS almost forgot-- they also told me with this code the pin number wasn't required to make reservations so the CM really didn't need to ask, it would never prompt her like other codes would.

I just called twice and tried to use the *** code and both times they told me it was a direct mail code and that I needed a PIN.

**moderator note--Please do not post the code here, as it is in violation of DIS posting guidelines**

I've used post card codes and email codes several times over the years including 3 times in 2004. Have never been asked for any proof at check-in. I've always understood it is taken care of by CRO, not the resort at check-in :)

Relax! If Disney honors the code in your confirmation, you're all set!

P.S. Will be interesting to see if anyone is able to use the code now that people are calling worried and esp since DisneyAngelXOXO spoke with guest services - an email might have been sent to all CRO to advise them about the pin code.

I would like the code too.

Now, I have heard that you can call CRO to see if their are any codes associated with your name. If so, could this be why some people have not been asked for a PIN? The CRO agent could see that they are entitled to the code and thus doesn't even persue the PIN?

Has anyone called CRO to see if there is a code associated with their name?

Just curious.

I used a post card offer with a pin that i got in september for a 49.00 room rate, and when i checked in they never asked to see a post card, and this was my post card, so they do not check at check in for the pin nor do they want the post card, I asked the cast member why she did not ask for the post card, she said once you pay for the entire trip and you come here sometimes people forget the card because it has been paid for so they do not require it.
so dont worry about them not giving you the room for that rate especially if they charged you already they cant turn around and charge you more, this was told to me by a cast memeber at the hotel . so once they conirm it with you by mail and it is paid in FULL you do not need to worry.

First cm that dh spoke with said there was a pin, but quoted us, preferred POP for $71. Our phone died, so dh called back, had another cm and he quoted him that same rate and dh did not even say anything about a code. So, we have that rate and have our confirmation #.

Would they really expect you to hang on to a postcard for 6 months??

We are excited!! Thanks for sharing!

OK Folks, better be careful with this one. I just got off the phone with a very nice CM at CRO. Here is what happened.

I called and inquired about booking a room using the code being discussed here and was quoted $79/night at PO-FQ. I booked it, paid my deposit and thought I was set.

I got a call back from the same CM a minute later saying she realized that I did not have a PIN in my household information in their computer and that rate was not a valid rate for me. According to her, this is a direct mailing campaign that can only be used with a PIN.

I pushed her on this issue to make sure I could report back to all of you what exactly could happen. She said that I would be told I had to pay the rack rate at check in because the PIN was not in my information in their computer. She equated it to someone making a FLorida resident reservation and showing up from another state. The resort would immediately adjust your rate to a much higher rate.

So, you don't have to show anything to the resort, because the PIN is already in the computer. If it is not there, you will be asked to pay a higher rate.

She was very nice, but said she could not give me the rate, even after speaking with her supervisors. I am an AP holder and she said AP rates will be coming out sometime in Jan. I ended up having to book at rack rate and now I have to wait for AP or other room only codes to come out so I can lower my rate.

So, anyone who does not have a PIN, I would be nervous. I know I don't want that worry on my mind as I am going on a vacation, especially one that could end up being much more costly.

The big thing here is that the PIN is in their computer. They can punch in the three letter code and quote you rates, but if the PIN does not come up in your info when you check in, you will be asked to pay a higher rate.

Hope this helps.

I also tried to book tonight using "the code" given on these boards!! She "searched" for quite some time then I was put on hold. (She must have been checking with the supervisor like your CM did.) When she returned I was told that she couldn't book without the PIN #. I also booked my rooms at rack rate (for more nights than I needed because our flights won't be booked until February!! A little trick I learned on the DIS to give us more flight options!!)

AP holder here . . . I am SO glad to hear that AP rates will be coming out again (Whew)!! I didn't even think to ask. I was just glad to get my rooms booked!!
