Who needs lime green ribbon...when you've got lime green Mickey stickers!

Yes -- lime green Mickey ears stickers!!!!!!



I have a feeling this may revolutionize the way DisBoarders meet on DCL cruises!!

Here's how we found them: My family and I will be 1st time cruisers on thr 4/5/03 Magic trip, and we knew about the lime green ribbon to indicate people on the DisBoards, so my mom was going to try to find some.

Well....we're remodeling a house, and my mom was at Home Depot looking at the new "Disney Paints" (very cool) when she came across these *FREE* Mickey ear stickers you can take for each shade of paint (like paint chips, just stickers).

Lo and behold, the "Alien Green" (I guess from Toy Story - "the claaaaww" aliens) color is lime green!!

In fact, they remind me of the typical Hidden Mickey shape.

I think everyone who planned on wearing a lime green ribbon needs to run out to Home Depot today!!

Just wanted to let out our new secret! They are large enough to be very recognizable, and the color is perfect!

I'll try to get a picture of them on this thread eventually...

If you go and get some stickers, let me know!!!!

We don't have our home depot built yet--it is under construction and won't be finished until late this year. We are cruising in June!!!!! But this is a GREAT idea!!!!!!

Haha... I can see it now.... Home Depot will have a run on lime green paint chip samples and run out daily, but can't figure out why in the world they're not selling any of the paint.....

Just got back from Home Depot. Not sure if I got the right thing or not as these are just paint chips and definitely not stickers. Also, the Alien Green that Kaitlyn mentioned was right next to another color called Sonic Boom that I thought would fit the bill too. Not sure if you can tell from the scan, but the Alien Green is more of a flourescent type green and the Sonic Boom is a darker lime green - like the color of an actual lime rind.

Even though the ones I got aren't stickers, they could definitely be cut around. From ear to ear, they measure just over 2.5" across and top to bottom is about 2.25 inches. Wish I'd scanned a quarter with them for some scale definition

Mine aren't stickers either but a little cutting and some good double sided tape will do the trick, and with good penmanship they will make real nice name tags!

The ones we got are stickers. I guess that, from what y'all have said, every Home Depot doesn't carry the stickers - some only the chips. But vicnmickey had a good idea about making them into name tags w/double-sided tape and all.

goofydadeo - I think my mom went to the Marietta Home Depot, possibly the one in Kennesaw. Those are the closest to us. What's the best way to tell everyone on the 4/5/03 thread about this - post a link to this thread somehow or just copy this info into a new post there? I'm new to these boards and not too sure which will work the best.

Cruise - great scan! Much better than I could have done. My mom said she couldn't decide between the Alien Green and the next shade of green (Sonic Boom apparently), but thought the Alien Green would be brighter and more visible. Either will work though, I think! That would be good if you could scan the stickers with a quarter for scale. I couldn't remember how big they were cause I didn't have them with me when I started this thread.

It's so cool that a bunch of you guys ran out and found some of these stickers!!

Our two local HDs only carry regular Disney paint sample cards....they are not shaped like Mickey heads....I was bummed out when I went this afternoon. the ones shown in the scan above were sealed in a plastic case to show where each color sample would go, but they were boring pieces of paper. I wanted the MM icon samples!!

They look like stickers because they're die cut, but when I tried to peel one off, it just ripped and there wasn't any sticky stuff.
I had to get the Alien Green because someone had taken all the Sonic Greens which I think are actually a nicer lime green.
What I'd really like to know is who is the other DISer in the Wake Forest, NC area?????

I picked up some today. At our store they had some of the regular paint cards and some with the Mickey heads. Depended on the color. I was able to peel it off the backer quite easily. I think these would make a great addition to scrapbooks so I posted a link to this thread over the scrabook and craft board.

jeanneg - I live in ATL now, but I'm gonna be a freshman at Wake Forest UNIVERSITY in Winston-Salem next year (I know the town of Wake Forest is a different place, though). I love the area around there, though and I'm so excited (and it's not TOO far away from Disney's Hilton Head Resort of WDW for that matter!)

OH MY GOSH - this is the last week before we go on our 4/5/03 cruise! I've been waiting for this forEVER...I just don't know what to do with myself. School seems so insignificant now...heehee. Just sharing my excitement!

Congratulations on getting accepted to WFU...it's a great institution. You're so right, everyone who is not from NC always thinks the university is located in Wake Forest. The old school is still physically there, but it's now a Baptist seminary. Have a wonderful time on your cruise.....I wish mine was coming up so soon!

I ran out to Home Depot the day this thread was started and got my Alien Green Mickey heads. Unfortunately, they aren't stickers, but I do like the double sided tape idea. These paint chips are so fun! I'm coming up with all kinds of ideas of what to do with them!
