My husband keeps asking me to buy the rolls that my mom always made with a holiday meal. She told me they were Brown & Serve but doesn't remember who made them.

I've looked and looked in the stores and can't find them. I have found the "store brands" but they just aren't the same.

And are these only found during the holidays? Have never ever found them throughout the year.

In our area it's Van De Kamp's, but I'm not sure they're national. My sister loves those rolls!

I buy mine in the bread section not the freezer section. There is usually a name brand and a store brand I can't tell the difference.

East coast here... Home Pride and wonder... But they are hostess brands... So who knows if they will be around long. also Stroemans. Look in the bread section... Not frozen...

They are in the bread section of the store where you would buy you regular bread. They come in a little rectangle aluminum pan.

Are you talking about the King's Hawiian Rolls?

Good Point about stuff not being on the shelves because of Hostess closing.

There are a ton of frozen rolls in the freezer section. Maybe they sell them there now?

Strohmann's in western NY - they come in clear plastic w/yellow & red wrapper with an old fashioned girl eating a slice of bread on it. They're in soft cardboard tray - put on cookie sheet & bake, though. Also, Strohmann's bread, hot dog & hamburger rolls.

Not King's Hawaiian, nobody will eat their meal & everyone will put on weight. I am certain they are made by the devil.

Now I want a roll . . . and I did so good last week at leaving them off the Thanksgiving shopping list.

Here in the Midwest, they are Rhodes. Just made some on Sunday with our Thanksgiving meal. :)

Ours aren't frozen, they are fresh and are normally in the regular bread aisle. With it being Thanksgiving, they were right up front as you walked in. :)

omg, my dh just had to have these for thanksgiving! lol. I went to three different stores and could only find the store brand at one store, he finally found some at hannaford here under the country kitchen (I think that was the brand, I know it had country in it anyway) lable.

There are in the bread aisle at my store, and in the store bakery with the store brand.

I grew up eating the Sunbeam brand. The bag is yellow and has the Sunbeam girl on it. They are set up rolls that you put onto a cookie sheet and just bake.

If you type in the google box " brown and serve rolls" you can get all kinds of images of brands.

No they aren't King's Hawiian Rolls, although I do love those little guys. These are just plain little rolls, actually I don't eat them, but some of my family does

We have Sunbeam and Merita here. DH and DS love them! DH's doctor tested him for celiac disease and all I could think was how will he live without his rolls. Lucky for him, it was negative!

Also in the Midwest, and Rhodes are fairly new to the market. If your husband had them growing up, they were probably Butternut or Pepperidge Farm. I've only seen the store brand on the shelves lately. My MIL always served them too.

Yup...I make them and get them in the bread aisle at the grocery store (Giant, Wegman's, Shoppers, Safeway). They are in rectangular tray (cardboard usually) in a bag. They have the store brand and then the brand my mom always made (and I try to get if they have it) is Schmidt's Blue Ribbon (Brown and Serve Rolls).

We have them for sale in the bread aisle except the tray is NOT aluminum it is a "paper" tray. I can't remember the brand here though off hand.

Like every else said they are in a bag usually on an end cap during the holidays.

This is probably a different roll... But we really love them.

If you want a dense, sweet, fresh-baked taste, yeast roll (like a homemade bread or roll) Try the Mary B's...

I buy the parkerhouse style rolls, in the round tin, in the freezer.
They are in the package with red.

NOTE: Not Sister Schuberts... similar thing with green on the package...
But Mary B's, with red.
