We were intrigued when we heard about it, but were incredibly disappointed when we actually saw it. JMO, this absolutely drags down the atmosphere of the park entrance. No offense intended to those who have participated, I think the concept is great, execution is not what I would have hoped for.

We don't like the Leave a Legacy at Epcot. It's ugly and takes up too much space. We liked the big, open space there before, and now it just seems like they added this to make more money and didn't care about how it looks. One of the reasons Epcot is our favorite park is because there is a lot of space so you don't have to feel so crowded.

Can't stand it! Every time I see it, it makes me think of a military barracade designed to keep out a huge tank or truck.

We love it and always look for our tile when we visit EPCOT! We also enjoy reading and looking at the other tiles as well... I'd venture a guess that we'll do a new one on our trip in November as my youngest cousin isn't on the one we have there already! Perhaps it's time for a picture one...

The entrance plaza to Epcot was so much nicer before the mausoleum.

I don't like it at all. I think DH is sick of hearing me say so when we walk past it. "Yes, I know. You hate it."

That is exactly what mine says to me!

I agree...it's ugly and I really did enjoy the entrance area when it was all open space.

That being said...we signed up the first year they were selling these. I can't even remember the year it was, but the monoliths weren't up yet. We had no clue it would look like THAT!!

BUT, we love checking out our 3 tiles (6 of us) every time we go. The kids look so sweet and young :lovestruc , and of course DH & I are incredibly youthful & fabulous in the tile. :rotfl: When we're ancient, our grandkids can say "WOW grandmom & grandpop were young once". :wave2: ;) :rotfl2:

I think its ugly. The tiles at MK are a much better idea.

My DH and I got one last year on our honeymoon. The thought that our future children could see a picture of us, on our honeymoon, carved in stone was an awesome concept to us!

I guess they could've come up with a better idea than those big slabs though. The college I graduated from in Louisiana has every graduate's name on a brick along with their graduation date along the walkways of the campus. Maybe they could've done something along those lines :confused3

It destroys the entrance into the park. I am sure they could a lot better then make it look like a grave yard full of tomb stones.

I really like the personalized bricks on the walkway in front of MK, but the Leave a Legacy in Epcot is a real Eye-sore... I wouldn't be upset if it was all of a sudden removed!!!

I like it. We did both the brick, which is near the Poly, where we stayed for our family trip in '99, as well as two tiles at Epcot, one Marie and me, and one Natalie and Vince. Since I have not as yet been able to ge the family back since, other than a few days with Natalie in '04, I always sort of feel like they are there at the World with me. Silly? Yeah. But that's the World. I always stop by each trip.

I don't dislike it. We usually enter through the International Gateway, so I rarely see them.

I don't think it's a given that they'll be taken out on 2020 or whatever. It's just that they're *guaranteed to stay* there through that time. I know the view to SE was grand before the tombstones came in, but that's a lot of empty space that is now a revenue generator - I can see why they would stay.

At first I wasn't too happy with LAL, but we ended up getting a tile with my two sons on it back in 2000. Every trip we've made since I take a photo of my younger son pointing to their tile and it's amazing to watch his growth!

I won't bore you with all the photos, but here he is finding it for the first time in 2001, and then on his last visit in Sept. 2005:

I didnt mind it at the beginning. But the walls are getting too tall and big. Its got to be bringing in some money. Anyone know how much ?

I don't know for sure, but I remember ruminating over it with my brother, once, and we figured that only a handful of panels of Leave a Legacy would be needed to raise as much money as the entire Walk around the World.

I'm one of those people who hate it. I think it would be interesting to see how many of those who like it remember what that area looked like before. It was a beautiful area full of flowers. That's the main reason I hate it-I can't help but remember how lovely that area looked before. Who else remembers how pretty it used to be there?

We like it. We got two panels as part of our Disneyana Convention package several years ago. We are on the same panel as N'*Sync so it is easy to spot our panel. The finish on the N*Sync boys as been dulled. On each visit we go over to our panel and rub it for good luck.
