Who lets their 7 yr old read "On Board The Titanic" before a Magic-al cruise!

Purplepeg, How did you bring the chocolate on board, in a carry-on or checked bag? I read you can't send food in a box shipped to the boat, so I was curious.

Also if I were to share any goodies with the CMs at the kids clubs how many would you expect I should bring? I would like to have a little something special in addition to regular tips, but want to bring enough for the whole class if you KWIM.

Thanks!

I, too, just found this report and it was "yesterday" when I started reading it. I head out on my first Disney cruise this Sunday. Been on many other lines, but so excited for this one. I have a dd3 as well. It will be just the 2 of us.

Love the idea of gifting chocolate at the end. Can't wait for your answer on how you got it onboard. What did you do for the kid's club counselors"

Where did you order the sand pails that you had sent to the room? I haven't found anything like that online or in the book they send you.

Did you ever catch up with your fellow dis-ers onboard?

For Geodoc - can you goecache with a gps enabled cell phone? It doesn't seem to be off by more than 10' or so. This just seems like fun. Might be worth the roaming charges to try it out once. Better yet, might try it out at home. :)

You were my first DCL trip report and the other's have a lot to live up to now!

Well you certainly walked off anything you consumed on CC!!

I hope you got some time to just sit and relax.

Your Titanic-phobia DD is just cracking me up! :rotfl:

Thanks for the question.

I do not have any experience with GPS enabled cellphones, however, if you can enter co ordinates into your cellphone then you should be able to geocache. Simply go to geocaching.com, register(basic membership is free) and find co ordinates for caches at your ports of call. (you are right though watch out for roaming and long distance fees:worried: )

For further background, inexpensive handheld GPSr can be purchased at most local electronics or Big Box stores(by inexpensive they would range from $150-250) They work all over the world and there are no subsription fees or roaming charges!!! Simply turn it on and it works.

LOL @ Mini Montana!!!!!! That girl is so precious!!!!!

We won't give up on you, girl, but we need our fix.

must..... have....... more........ trip......... report...........

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

You now have more TR and no comments from you. What's going on?, Life getting in the way:lmao:

Well, we don't want your TR to end...(just like being on the cruise!)...but we are anxious to hear more.

No pressure (how dare real life get in our way). Just good to know you are OK - we get worried here, you know!

Thanks for the concern. I'm the same way when I'm reading a tr and the person stops posting. You really do worry that everything is ok because now you feel like you know them.

Good to have you back, purplepeg! I was missing the continuing adventures of Mini Montana and crew. ;) Find those photos...gotta see them!

I'm still looking 'cause I know, what's a tr without lots and lots of photos.

Thank you for updating! I am glad you guys had such a good time. Can't wait for pictures. Next time, you have got to try the cookie dough ice cream (although I had pina coladas there too. ;) ) When we went, I got a cone and ended up giving it to my daughter. I went back for another one and they were closing up. :( So, next time I am getting one early.

That's the beauty of wanting to go back, you can try all the things you missed the first time:banana: Thanks for letting me know.

I just found your TR and read the whole thing through, my eyes are tired now.

What a wonderful report, your pictures are awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to do such a great report, it is a lot of work but very much enjoyed and appreciated. I am anxiously awaiting my first DCL cruise, actually I am beyond anxious ... I"m obsessed. It will not only be first on DCL but first on any cruise so it will be a lot of new.

Oh I'm so glad you found us:wave2: You will have such a great time and there's nothing wrong with being obsessed, it's perfectly normal here on the dis. I'm sorry your eyes hurt, I hope I helped you with any questions you may have had. Have a great time.

I think the food issue may be with opened packages and produce. I had bought the bags of hershey kisses and mini bars that were out for Valentine's day. I "budgeted" for one for the room steward, server, asst. server, head waiter, and then I brought about 4-6 more packages for anyone else we may run into and the kids club counselors. We had brought a bunch of snacks for the plane and the room like 100 calorie packs of Doritos, cheetos, crackers, those bags of individually packed Smarties (Canadian-better than M&M's)I can't even remember what else. Anyway, as we were packing we had lots left over so we sent all the leftover(unopened) snacks and bags of chocolate to the kids club when we picked the kids up for the last time. They were so excited. I can't believe I forgot to mention that in my report. They were such a big part of our trip and they were fabulous. Anyway, all that chocolate was in my checked luggage and that's how I had room in my luggage for my souveniers. No one asked about it in my luggage. I also heard the counsellors like food from the dessert buffet. I read that someone brought a couple of plates for them to share. I think there is close to twenty or so counsellors if I'm not mistaken.

Firstly, thank you for choosing our report to read:worship::) You must be beside yourself with excitement, I would be.:woohoo: I hope I answered your question above about the chocolat and how to get it onboard, and what we did for the counsellors. You 2 are going to have so much fun together:cool1: :yay: I got the sand buckets from The Perfect Gift. It's in Port Canaveral and I believe I just googled it but if you do a search on here she posts alot and alot of people use her. You can ask for all kinds of things in the buckets, we had tattoos, nail polish, lipstick, gloss, 2 bottles of water, 2 pop(soda), 1 large movie candy (M&M's), cookies, chips or doritos, fruit gummies. They were great on the phone too, so look them up! I never did catch up with any other Dis-sers and our meet thread dissolved right away.:(

Well you certainly walked off anything you consumed on CC!!

I hope you got some time to just sit and relax.

Your Titanic-phobia DD is just cracking me up! :rotfl:

I did get to sit a bit but not nearly as much as I wanted too:headache: That Titanic phobia is quite hilarious now....then, not so much:laughing:

I thought I would post a couple of pictures to tide you over. I hope you enjoy them.

It's Pirate Mini Montana!

Who can resist this face?

Isn't she beautiful?

Oh Peg, these girls are just too cute!! :lovestruc

I'll bet Mini Montana can just charm the socks off of everyone in her path. :cutie:

I thought you your oldest had red eyes from crying because she felt the ship moving!  ;)

What great pictures - I would not have been able to resist buying them either.

They are just dolls. :goodvibes

Sorry... I thought I had posted. Been having so many problems with the i'net at work... you'd think they want me to just do my work and not be surfing the net or something. Harrumph!!!

I'm so sad to see your TR coming to an end. I've had so much fun reading about your girls and your adventures with them. You need to make sure you print this out and save it becuase you know in 10 years your eldest will howl with laughter reading about her Titanic phobia.

So are you going to write about debarkation day? I remember what a sad morning that was. I didn't want to write about it to tell you the truth, but I knew if I didn't actually get around to doing it, KC would fuss at me.

Stay in touch, TR or no. We've had too much fun teasing each other! :-)

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yep that mini Montana gets away with a lot more than she should because of that face. Dd7 did too at her age. I often say to both of them, "it's a good thing you're so cute!" I can understand why you would think the red eyes may have been from crying d/t ship movement! Her entire face would have been red and blotchy then!:rotfl2: I unfortunately can't find the best pro pics we had taken. I think I'm losing my mind. Apparently I need an organization fairy to come with her best friend the decluttering fairy and then we'll be good:laughing: :yay: I am still going to post more photos and I WILL find tose photos and post them so bear with me for a bit longer. I still am working on Debarkation day. So sad:worried:

The nerve of your employer wanting you to actually work:furious: What are they thinking:confused3 Don't they know what your priorities are:badpc: Any way, yes I will post about debarkation day, very sad and not a fun day. We had travel problems:furious: We will definitely keep in touch. I asked at some point I think if you were going to be in the World when we're there in August? We do have a very full schedule but anything's possible. Promise you'll keep those witty comments and quips coming on our pre Tr. I think you encourage other people to post:worship:

Thanks for this awesome trip report. Makes me look foward even more to next year's trip! It has also given me a few ideas on how to "present' the trip to "the boys" this Christmas....
Oh, not to mention that now I'm feeling really guilty of not having scrapped anything for a while.
The girls are absolutely adorable...
Can't wait for the end...
And thank you for encouraging me to do a "Pre-Trip Report" but that won't be for a couple of months...
Nice to cyber meet you...

Thanks for all the great pictures!! I'll miss your trippie when it's done, but I've got your next one to tide me over. I wanted to pose for a picture with Captain Jack when I was in my pirate wench costume but DS told me I couldn't! What a hoot! :rotfl:

Kids are funny eh? They don't think you want to do fun things too. Apparently the characters are there just for them don't you know:lmao:
Once tis tr is done we'll be full force into the next one. I'm loving your tr:)

Great pics... thanks!!!! Looks like the Dutchman isn't finished on that side? I'll have to go back and check my pics... I must have totally missed that.

And that Capt. Jack you're with... his face isn't quite right for the part. Can't peg quite what it is, though. Oh, but those eyes! Those eyes more than make up for it.

As for poor Mini Montana... now that's just too bad, darling. You're just so precious that folks are going to invent pet names for you. Just be glad we're not all there to take you up in a big hug and pinch those adorable cheeks. You know, darling, even though I think you can do no wrong, there's a price for being so cute and right now, being called Mini Montana is it :-)

I didn't actually notice the unfinished part until I posted the pics myself. You're right abt Cap'n Jack too. He's no Johnny Depp but not bad.

I enjoyed your Mini Montana remarks but I enjoyed them by myself. I didn't share them with the precious child because I didn't want to deal with another meltdown.:rotfl2:

The picture of Mini Montana asleep on the table at dinner is priceless! I love the pictures from CC, I can't wait to see it in person in a few months! :)

I think he was protecting me! He was afraid to get a picture with Captain Hook, and when I told him I wanted a picture with Captain Jack, he told me, "No, Mama! No Captains!" :rotfl:
