I have an Epcot/Future World pin that was given out in the parks in the mid 80s. It has SE with a monorail diagonally across it. It does not have the pin back modern pins do, but has one of those that folds down and locks into place with a clasp. Anyone seen this or know anything about it? I'm not looking to trade it or anything, I just want to know about it's value, etc.

TIA!

Is this your pin? Pin 1226: Future World
Couldn't begin to tell you if it's valuable. It's old but not limited and it was given out as a gift well before Disney pin collecting became popular. There are probably not many of them in people's collections. It probably has more sentimental value than anything else.

That's it! We asked while we were down last week, but nobody could tell me any sites to try to find it. I saw it on a website probably 6 months or so ago selling for $30, but I'm honestly not going to sell it...I have two, and I want to keep them, for the coolness factor more than anything...I think my grandparents got them on a trip I wasn't on...I don't remember getting one and can't find one...but I have one of theirs and my cousin's...so I just wanted to know more about it, and if anybody else had one, etc. Thanks for your help!

The pin in question was sold at the park in 1985-86 for sure. It may have been sold earlier AND later, but I can only verify those dates. I cannot verify that this was part of the Gift Giver promo.

It originally came on a blue plastic hang card with gold writing; "WALT DISNEY Character Jewelry TAIWAN", the price was $3.00 and the SKU is 0186-19161

This was one of the first pins to be sold at WDW so I would think collectors would place value on that alone. $30.00 seems like a reasonable value to me. A collector of EPCOT souvies may want to pay more than that. I'm sure very few survived.

Some of the very early Figment pins from the same period can command $100 or more...

Hmm That's interesting info, thanks a lot. They thought it had been given away, but maybe they bought it for a souvenir. Thanks again for the great information!
