who knows about bday cakes, please, i need help!

i just spent an hour looking through all the cake threads trying to find answers, so im sorry if they were there, but i didnt see them, so here goes.

1. how easy is it to order a cake and get exactly what i want, i dont just want a cake that has a edible image on it?
2. do i have to eat at a specific place to get something special? i have adrs at Scifi, chef mickeys, hoop dee doo and hollywood and vine. i will also be eating at ESPN and planet hollywood. where would the best place to have a cake be?
3. will they bring the cake to any restaurant?
4. i read so many times about the bakery at the boardwalk, is this a place i can go and just pick out a cake? would it be easier on the night we eat at ESPN to just get a cake there?

You should be able to get a cake at any of those restaurants - call the cake hotline number on the first page of the cake thread. Whether it is exactly what you want, well, that can be complicated by the size and where the cake is coming from. Best to decide which restaurant is best for you and call to see what the possibilities are. But, yes, of the choices you mentioned, my preference would be to pick up a cake from BW Bakery. Just a note here...I ordered a cake for Coral Reef from the cake line about 10 days before my DH's birthday. When we got there that night, they had NO cake. The year before, I had ordered one for DD's birthday at CRT, but I had ordered it the 30 days before. It showed up no problem. I don't know if it was because I ordered it earlier for DD or if it was a problem with the cake 'hotline' itself, but DH's cake never showed up.
