I think the uniqueness of the cake is what made Lacey fall in love with it.
Those birds were quite aggressive that day. Of course, it didn't help that there were people all around throwing bits of food at them.
Lacey is terrified of any sorts of flying bug....honey bees, bumble bees, beetles and even moths.
When I was a little girl, probably about 4 or 5, I was playing in a storage building we had on our property while my parents were mowing. I saw them waving their hands at me but I couldn't hear what they were saying because of the lawn mowers. I came out of the building and was immediately covered in bees.

My parents came over and threw me on the ground and were, literally, pulling bees off of me. My entire body was covered in bee stings and my parents' hands were stung up as well. They spent the night in the car outside the hospital because they were afraid I would might have an allergic reaction. Thankfully, I did not. So, you'd think that I'd be afraid of bees after that but I am not. I'm respectful of them but not afraid of them. Now, snakes.....that's a whole 'nother story.
