Just for fun, I'm curious to see what people will say. So, who's your favorite Princess and why?
Mine is Belle: strong willed, independent, smart. And, she has brown hair and brown eyes, just like me :wave2:

Snow White.
Because she started it all. Her movie was simply incredible when you consider the time it was done. I often wonder without Snow White would the others have ever been done. I am sad that she's upstaged by Cinderella (at WDW) and Aurora (at DL). She has little presence in the parks and deserves more IMO.

Pocahontas for me. It was Ariel as a kid, but I've grown to appreciate the subject matter and trailblazing path Pocahontas made as an adult. Plus the movie is so beautifully made-- ESP when they added "If I never knew you" back in. But I love her sense of adventure, her independence and her willingness to do the right thing.

Mulan for me and my girls. We are asian and you don't see many kick-butt asian princesses around. ;)

And she saved a country!!

Growing up, Cinderella was my favorite. Thinking back on it now, it was probably more the mice I loved. :)

Then Mulan came out, and she's been my favorite since.

Merida, who officially becomes a Disney Princess in July 2013! She made a mistake but fixed it all on her own and didn't need a "man" to rescue her! One of my favourite aspects of her story is that there is no Prince that needed to rescue her.

Princess Aurora - One of the first books I remember owning as a child was Sleeping Beauty. I read it over and over again! :goodvibes

Princess Tiana.....first because little girls of color have a princess to love, and because it is a stong message of working hard to get what you want, but also have a balanced life. LOVE TIANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Belle by a long shot. She prioritized her family, she reads, is polite and well mannered, is kind to everyone (she isn't even really mean to Geston, though obviously annoyed by him).

I also like that she didn't fall in love with a prince, really. She didn't fall in love with wealth, power, title, looks, prestige, etc. she fell in love with an ugly beast in a run down castle that others were terrified of. She wasn't a princess because of her father or because she "won the heart" of some man who everybody wanted. She became a princess because she wanted to protect her father, and she looked beyond everything that is superficial. She earned it....

I wish Alice was truly a Disney Princess, that said, Belle - love that stood up for her love of books and Ariel - love her spirit of adventure!

Snow White. It was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. 1965. Mom, Dad, and I got dressed up and went to the movie and out to dinner for my 5th birthday. It was magical.

Belle will always be my favourite. It's not all about finding her prince for her, she is willing to leave him behind to save her father, and I love that she stands up to Beast even when she's still afraid of him.

My favorite princess growing up was princess Jasmine. She was the only princess of "Color" other than Pocahontas when growing up (I know there is Tiana now but I still stick with Jasmine.) She had long hair like me when growing up and had a similar skin tone as me. I loved her outfit and frequently taped a jewel to my forehead when I was little :rotfl:

All the reasons I love Belle as well! In second place would be Jasmine.

Belle. She's not so wimpy as some of the others and she wasn't looking for a dude to rescue her for the whole movie. I would say Mulan, but she isn't a princess.

Ditto, ditto & ditto. Also because (correct me if I'm wrong) but Merida is the 1st Princess that I recall having a strong relationship with her mother AND no man/Prince rescuing her.

It doesn't hurt that she's a redhead, :lmao: but really, what a great, strong female role model.

Mulan was my favorite before for pretty similar reasons & she's still loved by my girls a lot. They watch her movies all the time!

Mulan isn't royal, nor does she marry royalty, by no means is she a princess. It's a marketing term basically when applied to her. It's annoying that they keep having her meet and greet around the parks in that pink dress, when she wore the dress only for the opening sequence of the film and she hated that dress because it wasn't her.

I know, little girls want to meet a pretty girl in a pink dress. They used to have her out in her armor years ago, at DHS.
