Who is your favorite James Bond Actor?

I like Roger Moore for number 2 - but just for the fun cheesiness of it.

Didn't David Niven also play Bond? Would not be my choice but...

David Niven played in a bit of a parody of Bond in Casino Royale in 1967. I don't believe it's actually recognized as a Bond film, though, even though it's somewhat based on a Fleming novel.

Sean Connery's character is the most faithful to Ian Fleming's idea, in my opinion. I re-read (for about the 4th time) several of the books while on our European trip last summer. They work just about as good today as they did the first time I read them.

Yeah agreed - I guess its an unofficial film, although as I understand it he was Ian Flemings first choice for the role

Connery by leaps and bounds, followed by Moore, Brosnan, and Lazenby, disliked Dalton and Craig does nothing for me. Prefer to rewatch the older ones.

This one is easy. Sean Connery. But I will say Daniel Craig made me think - he was, in my opinion, easily the second best - he played the part well.

Craig as the most realistic Bond. Connery as the best imaginary MI-6 agent. Moore’s comedic turn was fun. Bronsan was disappointing; I’d great hopes for him. Lazerby and Dalton, well to be honest, I don’t recall their performances.

Perice was actually a very good bond, but unfortunately the movies let him down. Goldeneye made a better video game than a movie.

Pierce Brosnan. Nobody portrayed all sides of James Bond as well as he did. He didn't catch Bond's dark side as well as Dalton, didn't catch his playful and comedic side as well as Moore, and didn't catch his grit like Connery did, didn't catch his tenacity like Craig did, and didn't catch his vulnerability like Lazenby did. But when you put it all together, he had it all. The others didn't. And couple this with the fact that Brosnan was absolutely cursed with some terrible scripts yet shined in the role nonetheless, well there you have it.

I like all of them in their different ways. I wasn't sure about the direction with Daniel Craig, to begin with, but, tbh, the old format lost its way with Pierce Brosnan (not his fault!). I especially liked Skyfall. Though, was it just me or did Spectre feel more like an ensemble movie and less like a James Bond movie?

I have a soft spot for Roger Moore. I think Bond does need that eye twinkle and the one-liners (which was the one element missing with Craig).

Then again, who can beat this

I’m pretty sure I read Fleming added the Scottish stuff after seeing Connery play the part.

Connery & Moore, but the survey only lets you choose one. The newer stories all seem like they were trying to write in the 'style' of Iam Fleming, but weren't successful. I like the ones where 007 is fighting some global villain. Too many now seem like the storyline is too internally focused on someone going after MI6 instead of trying to destroy the world.
