Who is the nicest TV star's you have met and who are the not so nice?

James Marsters was incredibly nice and personable. Nicholas Brenden was also nice but quirky. Met them both at a Sci Fi Convention. James insisted that he knew me from somewhere else. Don't I wish! :cloud9: :)

We also met Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Gallactica) and he was very cool too. Peter Tork, from the Monkees, had the coldest hands ever!

I met Anderson Cooper at a book signing and he was extremely gracious and unassuming. Seemed genuinely kind and considerate.

I've met Martha Stewart a few times- very nice, talkative, and complimentary.

I just bought a ticket to attend a Marth Stewart lecture and book signing. She will be in DC on November 17 for an event sponsored by the Smithsonian Resident Associates. Really looking forward to it!

I've mentioned before (bunch of times) that I went to college with Jerry Springer, Paul Michael Glaser(starsky) and Bruce Paltrow(Gweneth's dad). But that was before they were famous. Michael and Bruce - cool dudes. Jerry - total dork who couldn't get a date.

My brother lives two doors down from Dick Clark in Malibu. He is nice, nice, nice. Diana Ross and Tom Petty have lived next door to him - not so nice. My brother's wedding is in 3 weeks so it will be interesting to see who attends. He is marrying the offspring of a Hollywood legend. I would kill not to have to attend this wedding.

No one from TV except for Marc Summers. He was very nice. I've met Jimmy Buffett at a dinner, he was quite gracious.

Voltaire (singer) is simply a doll.

My daughter gets to meet quite a few musicians, some more famous than others. She hangs with some of the former Orgy boys, she says Chester Bennington from Linkin Park is very nice.

She's filled her gas tank alongside Paris Hilton if that counts, lol.

Ron Jeremy frequents a place she likes to eat after shows. He makes her squeamish.

Yep, we're on the A list.

I've been very lucky. Never met anyone who wasn't super sweet or at least gracious with me. I'm usually hesitant to approach famous people because if they turn out to be jerks, it's so disappointing. I know a few people who've met Henry Rollins (Black Flag, then all that spoken word stuff) who were treated like garbage by him. Same thing goes for Michael Stipe of R.E.M.

My favorites -
Pete Townshend (The Who). He's my lyrical hero, and The Who is my all-time favorite band, so meeting him was HUGE for me. I was shaking from head to toe! A friend told Pete, "She's really shy." -- which is true, in general, but at that time, I was more nervous than anything, and I said so. Pete looked at me and said "There's a big difference between shyness and nervousness." Honestly, he could've said "Some people like licorice", or "Blue wall clock overture" for all I cared -- all that mattered was he was talking to ME! I happened to still have the ticket stub from the Who show I'd seen at Madison Square Garden a few weeks before in my wallet, and he signed it for me. This was in 1995 or so, and it's been in a frame ever since :cool1:

Adam Graves from the New York Rangers! OMG, I was totally in love with him. And I was lucky enough to be working at a charity event he attended. I risked reprimand by going outside to meet him, but there was no way I was letting him leave without meeting him. My favorite hockey player ever! I stood in the rain waiting for him to come out, and had to be prodded by a co-worker when he came out. Adam, noticing my rain-drenched state, said something like, "Oh my goodness, you're soaked! You need to get inside. Someone should get you a towel before you catch a cold!" etc., as I stood there all love-struck and speechless. He signed something for me, too. I still adore him :lovestruc

Finally, Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie from Siouxsie and the Banshees. A bunch of friends and I were at a bar when we noticed them sitting in the corner. There was a lot of back and forth, but in the end, we ended up hanging out with them the whole night. I will never forget Siouxsie and I singing along with "Breaking the Girl" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was playing on the jukebox. It was an awesome night! :thumbsup2

I've very briefly met Jon Stewart (many years before he blew up), LL Cool J (about 6 times -- we seemed to keep showing up at the same places), Scott Valentine (remember Nick from Family Ties?!), a handful of other hockey players (all former NY Rangers)... I'm probably forgetting a few people. If I remember others, I'll post.

A few years ago they filmed The Guardian in my little town. Kevin Costner was really friendly and was very visible. He was often seen around town....Ohhhh I wanted to grab a certain part of his body so badly ever since I saw that No Way Out movie. I did not of course!....Tempting though!

Ashton Kutcher was not friendly at all, refused to sign autographs or take pictures!

I saw them both but never approached them I felt like they deserved to be left alone. I firmly believe that I would never approach a famous person on their own personal time.

I was feet from Eric Ripert who I have a huge crush on and is actually on "my list". I did not try to engage him but he seemed to be really friendly and my DBF got a huge kick of how red I got and squirmy like a 12 year old girl watching him.

I met Patricia Heaton in a hotell swimming pool who came up to me to tell me how cute my baby daughter was so of course I now love her. Love my kid, i love you :goodvibes

My Grandmother lived across the street from Drew Barrymore for a few years. She had a waiving relationship with her.

The nicest was Rick Springfield cause well I LOVE him :cloud9:

Kevin Costner is very sweet ! Nice and down to earth and I met him several times and had dinner with him at my friends house ( he is friends with my friend)

the most full of himself was a sports guy who I couldnt stand to be in the room with . Jose Conseco what a jerk . Then when he figured out I didnt like him he made it a point to talk to me and make FAKE nice every time I saw him ( he WAS friends with the same friend who is friends with Kevin Costner . Turned on him like a real jerk would !)

I haven't met a lot of people, but I have had good experiences. Many years ago I met Eileen Fulton from As the World Turns. She was chatting and signing her book at my local Borders. She was very nice and answered my question.

My absolute best experience was meeting David Cook from American Idol Season 7. They were on tour and that year my son who was then 3 was having major issues (he was adopted a year prior from China and the whole transition was very difficult for him and us). One of the only things that soothed him was David Cook music. A couple hundred people waited for the Idols' bus to arrive. Not everyone comes out, or they do briefly, so I had no expectations. I had my DD5 and DS3 with me.

We met Kristy Lee Cook first (meh) and David Archuletta (sweet and kind to my kids). David Cook comes out and we are towards the end of the group. He spent time with EVERYONE-talking, pictures, autographs. When he came to us, he said to DD "Hi Darlin'!"She loved that! I also got to tell him how much he meant to my son. He listened attentively and high fived him. Then signed their shirts and took a picture with them (holding them!). Definately a good experience!

On another note, I know someone who met Chris Noth and said he was obnoxious. Could have been the day!

Others I know have met and liked Richard Lewis and Rosie O'Donnell.

Loooooove David Cook!!! How cooool!!

I forgot about Jerry Springer ... I lived in NKy in the late 80's, when he was one of the anchors for Cincinnati TV news. We would go to the WEBN fireworks every year, and DH fraternity brothers would park their car near where the media set up was. Jerry would come play hackey sack with them every year. Good times. LOL

Gravey is like the nicest person on the planet. He once thanked me three times - for lending him a pen. :lmao:

Thanks for posting this! I recently moved to DC and hadn't heard of this event! Going to purchase tickets tomorrow. :)

the year after i left school, one of the players of the football team i support came to visit the school , my brother once said he saw some hollyoaks actors in a club in Standish

I meant Clinton Kelly from "What Not To Wear" and he was so super nice. However, his cohost Stacey was a real WITCH!!

I've also met: John Waters, Isaac Mizrahi and they were both sooooo nice.

People Ive met who were DIVAs - The B52s (they were so rude) and Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel - he was a totally jerk/diva, and he's super short and has really bad skin!!

We have met Tim Gunn a few times. Such a sweet, down to earth guy and truly grateful for all that he has. A true gentleman.
Also, a Disney fan.

Regis Phillban (spelling??? no idea) was a total jerk when we saw him twice...TAPING THE DISNEY PARADE NON THE LESS!!! Who can be a total JERK-WAD when they are at Disney World???? No idea. I thought it wasn't possible.

On the other hand, Kelly Rippa was extremely friendly and amazingly cool when we saw her once. It was almost like she was trying to make up for the jerk she had to be there with...

Hailey Jo Osment (another one??? Spelling, I have no clue) was extremely friendly. We rode the Animal kingdom safari with him and his family. All wonderful, kind people.

My grandfather met Regis when he worked with the cruises going out of NYC (this was probably about 15-20 years ago), said he was a complete jerk. He asked him if he could have his autograph b/c his wife watched him every morning, he told him to get away from him

Adam Sandler and Derek Jeter, AMAZING people!

I have only met Dwayne the rock Johnson and Sisqo (from Dru Hill) both were very nice. Sisqo was actually at the WWE event and jumped over a bar to sign my ticket for me haha. I also met Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulous, they were both nice too. Does Jane Goodall count? I met her as well haha, very nice.

Another jerk: I always hear Bon Jovi is the worst.

I've met this super famous celebrity quite a few times, he is always super sweet, friendly, a pleasure to be around, and makes me laugh....you may have heard of him his name is Mickey Mouse :rotfl2:

You know, this thread ticks me off....

I have gone to WDW yearly, since 1995, and twice yearly since 2006. I stay for 2 weeks at a time. I live in Chicago. I go "out" in the city, a whole lot.

Why in the hell have I NEVER ever met anyone famous, ever??? Just bumped into someone??? Why?!?!? :headache:

You know what this shows? This shows how poorly I pay attention to detail. I have probably walked past gobs of people, and I just am "la-la-la-la" in my own little world.

The one, and only, person I have ever met was Tony Curtis, a year before he passed. (Thread here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2344855)

He seriously was ridiculous nice, and a *FLIRT!*. And I was falling for it. I suddenly understood what "je ne sais quoi" meant. I wanted to run off into the sunset with him and his baby blue eyes... and he was 80-something years old.

I understood why he was the ladies man, he was.

VERY nice guy. Very. :goodvibes

I forgot that I know quite a few people who have met Alan Rickman and Adam Lambert and both of them have given universally positive impressions.

Tim Gunn has said that she was far far worse than what they showed on PR. (If you like fashion gossip, his book is great fun. Particularly his descriptions of Anna Wintour.)

My mom is the biggest Adam Lambert fan ever! haha!
Her first concert at the age of 50 was his AI Tour concert, then the following year we went to see his Glamnation tour :goodvibes
He seems like a very nice guy.
