Who is right: CM 1 or CM 2?

I am doing a split stay, checking in August 17, checking out August 20, then back in August 20-27 in order to qualify for the bounceback free dining.

I go online yesterday and can only make reservations up to August 20th. I make a few up until August 20th but the site is very glitchy even for those dates. I know that split stays cause reservation issues online so I call and get CM 1 who says no problem, she can book us for our 180+10. She books us for great times at BOG (Aug 26th), CRT & BBB (August 22), 'Ohana's and Yachtsman (August 21). All reservations are displaying in MDE.

I decided to get off the phone at that point because lots of Dis'ers were likely trying to get through as online was glitchy, and I only needed a few easier to get reservations. I figured I would call today.

Just got off the phone with CM 2, who says I cannot book 180+10 with my first split stay reservation until the second part of the stay gets to 180 days. I say that's not true, otherwise CM 1 wouldn't have been able to do it. She argues with me until she sees the reservations in MDE. Then she says in five years she has been there, she has never, ever, EVER been able to book 180+10 if the +10 extended beyond checkout.

So who is right? Basically I have to wait until the second 180+10 opens (no problem) but it's so confusing!

Both are right. It has worked both ways for me personally in the past, both online and on the phone. So I would say take what you can get! I think the official answer is that you are only supposed to be able to book for your length of stay, up to 10 days, on that first day, but it doesn't always work that way.

I have a split stay booked & went online this morning and it wouldn't let me book ANY reservations for the second half of our stay & of course, those were the ones I really wanted! (Especially V & A's Chef's Table for our last nite.)
Called at exactly 0700 - didn't get thru till 0730 & was told I could only book for first part of split stay. CM said the system wasn't built to handle split stays - even tho they're linked on MDE.
Vicki - am I reading correctly that sometimes you can book the entire 180 + 10? If so, I'll be up bright & early again tomorrow!
Thanks!
Gretchen

It has worked for me for more than 10 days on the phone for our Christmas trip, but that was 5 years ago. And I had a hodgepodge of split stays. I think we had 4 separate reservations that trip.

We have a 15 night trip in August. We have two reservations because I had enough points for most of our stay, but had to pay cash for the last night.

The online system was only letting me book at 180 for the next 7 days our our stay. I had to call for the rest. I finished the first 10 days on the phone.

I called a couple of days later to finish the reservations. I was able to book breakfast for checkout from our second reservation, even though I was not 180 days from the check-in the second reservation.

See, I think it's entirely possible just that some CMs may not know how to do it. Maybe it requires some manipulation of their system (not in a bad sense) that they haven't been trained in.
