The fixed week changes are surprising. You can’t buy a FW anywhere they sold them for under 150 points, assuming you can still get them. DVC not selling any VGF1 FW. Just wow. This is exactly why I didn’t purchase as well. The FW I was interested in, wasn’t even offered. I‘m not convinced the price is going to increase that much in the next year, so I‘m going to wait a bit to see where resale prices settle and if any information is released on DLT. Really disappointing that 21UY points aren’t available.
The changes made to the FW charts, has really made them way to expensive. I had even considered Riviera until I saw the new chart. Just makes me feel like I will stick with resale.
If you were going to buy another resort, what would it be?We do want more points, just not at Vgf, We own at Poly, which we prefer over Vgf. I don't see a point in owning at both since I can walk to Vgf and enjoy the dining and shopping there. One resort on the monorail line is good for us.
We love our points BWV. Walking to 2 parks and W&F is our favorite event. Also love AKL. It has a savannah, nuf said. If we were to buy more points, which we are trying not to, would be Copper Creek. We love Wilderness. Scared as we are staying there in April. Riviera is temping (love the restaurants and the grounds are beautiful), but too many points needed for what we like.If you were going to buy another resort, what would it be?
We would buy beach club or add on points to the resorts we already own atIf you were going to buy another resort, what would it be?
This is my hold up on vgf2. I want to buy a small contract as the price seems right but I haven’t enjoyed my last two trips to Disney and that was prior to losing magical express and the addition of the lightning lanes. I think I’ll be really sour after experiencing what the paid lightning lanes offer compared to the free fast pass.I did some more spreadsheets, and really the correct answer for me mathematically is to sell my existing resale and buy VGF2, if I think I'll hold a few years to at least break even.
But I don't think I'm going to be in on Disney that long. There are too many issues pushing me from going to Disney at all, and they seem to keep coming.
Yes and no, it is 4,000 per resort, per person. Max of 8,000. So a couple could own 4,000 at one resort and 4,000 at a second resort. I think if you are single they hold you to 4,000. Most don’t have to worry about that, unfortunately. The DVC max is 4,000 points.
If you have less than 4,000 points, there is no reason to not buy!!!!

Judging from your banner, you do seem to have quite the resort collection already!I was potentially interested in VGF2 but decided against once the “resort studios” were announced. They are just hotel rooms for which we are charged DVC rates, and the fact that they didn’t even try to offer amenities like a microwave - when the shelves for the coffee nook could easily hold it - or a real mini-fridge to hold milk/cream turned me off from it. If they had embraced the rooms but offered guaranteed connecting rooms or - better yet! - king bed options with an option to connect to 2 queens, that would’ve been a different matter. I’d have been more interested in owning points to do 2-3 nights in that case. I did debate VGF2 for some SAP points, but then decided much as I DO want more direct points, I’d probably rather buy more CCV or PVB resale instead.
That said, we also own a lot of points at BRV/CCV (our favorite up with AKV), and we also now have 100 points at PVB, whose theming we like so much better, so if I’m looking for a 1-3 night Studio stay near MK, I’d rather stay at PVB anyway.
LOL, I do! If they ever revive Reflections, I'll definitely add another. ;-)Judging from your banner, you do seem to have quite the resort collection already!![]()
Yeah, that is my fear. Chapek is really embracing the "offer less" mentality, and one of the reasons I loved Disney was that, while expensive, I always felt I got more than my money's worth and incredible experiences. I am holding out hope that once the post-Covid travel frenzy ends, Chapek and Disney will return to being the company that strove to offer magic, when not making customers happy starts to impact their bottom line. From Lorana, "I was potentially interested in VGF2 but decided against once the “resort studios” were announced. LORANA, you are exactly right and I agree. You do know that a lot of DVCers think that's okay and are fine with the price. If this is okay as studios I'm sure DVC will take something else away in the next resort they build.
Can't blame you, I loved that Reflections concept art!LOL, I do! If they ever revive Reflections, I'll definitely add another. ;-)
