1. I went on a Disney Cruise this past January and attended a DVC session.
2. I requested the DVC DVD and received a callback and Fedex package.
3. I went on a tour last week.

Would my guide be number 1, 2 or 3 if I decide to purchase? #3 asked me about #1 so I was in the system.

4. I am going to the NY Garden City event on Sunday so if I put a deposit down there is THAT my guide?

Just curious plus I am really shocked that I have not received any follow-up phone calls from #3 and was wondering if it is because she saw #1 and how the commission is effected.

Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure how it works but I believe that whoever actually discusses the prices with you in detail is the one who becomes your guide. If you were on the cruise & sat down with one of the guides on the ship to discuss details they may have become your assigned guide. (Many of the FL guides do rotations on the cruise ships. If you spoke with one of the actual sales guides in depth on the cruise ship and didn't already have a guide you may have been assigned to them.) If you already have a guide assigned to you in the system I think they will get the credit for the sale. Quite a few of the guides from FL are at the hotel in Garden City. My guide is one of the presenters and she is who I spoke with last night. If your assigned guide is there they will sit you with them for the one on one. When your assigned guide isn't available there are usually specific guides they designate to handle your inquiries in their absence but they always remain your main contact (unless you insist that DVC reassign you to a guide you may meet with that is more responsive to your inquiries).

We had a little drama with a few of the guides that were in the party room after the presentation last night. We chatted with several and one took down my name to set me up to speak further with a guide. He saw us speaking with another guide a short while later and made it clear to her that she was poaching on his territory. While we were speaking with another one he made his presence known again. Needless to say if he is assigned as my local contact I will probably request to be reassigned to one of the others as I am perfectly happy with my FL guide and prefer a less pushy local contact.

The easiest thing to do is call (800) 800-9100 and ask them who your Guide of record is. Then I would call your Guide and tell him/her what you intend to do.

We just purchased an add on 100 point contract at GCV while onboard the Disney Magic Aug 8th. The two presenters, who are also guides were clear that our original guides would get credit for the sales, but the onboard guide who personally wrote up the new contract also gets some kind of credit for making the sale. I specifically asked that question. As to who your original guide would be, it should be the person who you first made contact with. I've been assigned a different guide since we first joined back in 1997 since our original one left the Company. Fortunately I like our second one ( Joan Lane) just as much.---Kathy

I purchased BCV points when they were first being offered on the first DVC Member Cruise in 2003 and the Guide who wrote up my contract shared the commission with my original Guide per their sales guidelines.

As mentioned above, give DVC a call to obtain the name of your assigned Guide. :)
