Who is going? When?

Thank you everyone for the ideas on PO...It has been very helpful!

As far as renting points from a DVC member, we thought about that and even tried on here (the DIS) to find someone to rent from. The only problem is that we could not find someone that was able to work out a payment schedule with us. As much as I would love to pay it all outright, I cannot....

I thank you for the idea though.... That would definitely give us some room...

I am glad that I am picking some good places to eat....And thanks for convincing me to spend a special dinner with DH...:lovestruc ;) It is just hard for me to leave anyone out, but I know we wil all want some time to ourselves as well....

So, where do you think DH should go?? :confused3 I was thinking Jiko or Boma because we have enjoyed them before and I know nobody else would want to go there....

Well if no one else would want to eat at either of thoes places, then yes that is where I would go. Which one though, I can't help with as we have never eaten at either.

What places do you enjoy Pooh??

We are always up for the new and different....

We don't do a lot of sit downs because of the ADR's. We don't like being tied to a specific time to eat, so if we decide on sit down we will try a walk up.

CP, 50's, Rainforest, Boatwrights (POR restaurant, especially breakfast), The Wave (Contemporary restaurant), Garden Grill.
Ghirardelli once a trip, sometimes for lunch instead of dessert. :rotfl:

I will be trying the UK fish shoppe this trip and Boma for breakfast (we are staying AKL this trip).

Boma is my favorite breakfast!! The French toast brioche is sooo good. I save my carbs for there!! :rotfl:

We liked Boma dinner too. Fulton's. Raglan Road (although it is noisy).
Artist Point is on our list to try soon.

Thanks for your input! :goodvibes

...
Open Question: Would you leave your family and have a "special dinner" with DH? (Because we would love to do a place they would NOT like to do--For example: Boma or Jiko) I am not trying to be selfish...

We're the DGPs so we often let DS&DDiL go and have a quiet dinner. The two places they've eaten at most are Artist Point and Cape May Cafe for the dinner buffet. Of those, AP is the most "special." I like the Cali Grill for a very special meal.

I don't think Boatwrights is opened for breakfast any more. We loved their version of stuffed french toast, if they are opened for breakfast again, that's a place we just have to go to when we're in WDW next.

I am getting soooo hungry you all talking about places to eat! :goodvibes I know, I know, I asked....:rotfl2:

Boma for breakfast??? That sounds good....we have only gone for Dinner before...

Boatwrights would be a good place if we stay at PO....

Lots of great input everybody!! Thank you so much! :cheer2:

Bobbi is correct, Boatwrights wasn't doing breakfast in Nov. 09 (dang it) was hoping they would bring it back soon, but probably not. However dinner is pretty good too.

Fulton's - thanks Nancy. That is the other place we are trying, so long as John can get a steak, I want crab legs.
Forgot to mention we are doing HOB this trip too, I even got a gift certificate from www.restaurant.com

Off topic question...

How would I cook crab legs at home? the only fish I have cooked at home is haddock.

We really like HoB...have been many times, even away from Disney :) One of DH's favortie.
I have restaurant.come marked for that too. We are going in Oct to the one at DLR.

Never cooked crab legs, so can't help you there. I don't cook fish.....not a big fan. Luckily DH can get it a lot when he travels.

Nancy its a shame your next trip to the parks will be DL. They have quite a few Swan & Dolphin restaurants listed this time and HOB is listed again.

That is why I don't make a lot of fish at home, John doesn't like it so I get it when we eat out.

are you going to try some of the S&D restaurants?

Someone had posted that link on the DL board, so I knew HoB was there ;) Told Dave about it and we will probably get one for the Oct. trip.

I think the crab legs you buy are already cooked and so I have always just steamed them. I just put something in the pot to keep the legs out of the water, put an inch or so of water in the pot, cover and heat.

I've never gotten sick when I've done them this way. DH doesn't like to work you have to do to enjoy crab legs, so I do this when he's away on business and have to cook for one.

I've firmed up and added on to some reservatoins. September 29 and 30th have been added to the fall trip. DH will come after work on the 30th and he leaves on the 3rd, so I have some solo time there.

Then our first December trip (VWL) is with DSis and DCuz and that's December 10 to 14, but then I decided that if I could extend my part for three more nights, the 14 to the 17th, I would, and so I did. :goodvibes

DS and his family have bought tickets now to join us for NYE. The price of tickets was so high for them, ($400+) each, but they were able to use credit card miles and that made it possible. However, DS/DDiL will be taking a break from WDW trips, and I don't think they will be going to WDW next year if they have to buy airfare. Hopefully, they will be moving to Florida in 2011. So, our NYE trip is from December 28 to January 1. We'll be in a 2 bedroom at BWV.

So....I'm so glad to have these things to look forward to. I hope to make all of these trips, but just having them scheduled helps. If something goes awry healthwise and something has to be cancelled, I still have others to look forward to.

No we won't be trying any S/D restaurant this trip, but there is always next trip.

Thanks for the help Bobbi. :)

::yes:: Gotta love "next trip" and trying new places....always helps if there is a deal to be found :teeth:

Wow...long time since an addition to this, so thought I would bump it up.

And new dates to add?

Nancy,
We changed our dates for our trip next January. The trip from Jan 27th - Feb 2nd has been cancelled and rebooked for Feb 14th - Feb 22nd. Still staying at BLT for part of the trip then moving off property in order to attend several of my son's baseball games. His college will be in Florida playing over President's weekend.

Got it, Jean.....:yay: for attending those games.

Our first trips to WDW were for DD's sporting events.

We're going to be at the Beach Club Villas from July 2 to 7. We want to go to Vero Beach either before or after, just haven't decided that.

I'm planning a "Gal's Getaway" for some friends and that's going to be September 11 to 15. Tom will come for the next night and then we'll take a 3 night Royal Caribbean Cruise. I had wanted to go on the DVC member cruise, but it would mean missing my first day of school next year, and I just couldn't "do" it. This is a nice substitute, we've done the 3 night RCCL cruise and enjoyed it a lot.
