Who is going to be in the WORLD for MARDI GRAS?

We are heading to Disney on Feb 8 and will leave on the 15th. We are staying at POFQ.

Hoping to see a lot of Purple, Green and Gold while hanging out in Disney.

We will be at Wilderness Lodge Feb. 10-15 with my grand daughter

We're camping at Fort Wilderness from Feb 10th to 17th. Our first camping trip at Disney!
We're used to DVC villas. This really will be roughing it!

Any special events for Mardi Gras?
Have to say we're not big celebrators. I only realized today that Mardi Gras was during our trip. But we're always up for something fun (as long as it's kid appropriate of course.)

Disney does not have any events geared to Mardi Gras but you will probably see Saints or LSU jerseys or purple, green and gold. It does get crowded because so many from LA, MS and AL head to Disney. In NOLA area kids are out iof school all week.

FYI - Mardi Gras in New Orleans is not all the craziness you may see coming from the French Quarter. Those with families are out enjoying the parades along St Charles Ave Orin the suburbs. It is mostly tourist in the Quarter.

If you're looking for Mardi Gras celebrations, Universal has a neat lights parade complete with bead throwing. And a food fest. It's quite fun.

You'll see us there in our saints and lsu gear! Matter of fact, my hands are purple right now from making lsu mickey tie dye shirts today! They're all tied up. I can't wait to see them tomorrow!

I totally wish I was going! We went back in 2009 and 2011 and we had a great time both trips! Wish we could go this year but I waited too long and Southwest is sold out, except if I want to pay $500 RT for tickets (which I dont). Oh well, guess I will have to live thru you guys! Have fun!!!

Sassy2000- how is Disney at this time of the year? Last time we were there for Mardi Gras was 2006. I recall it being crowded. How is the weather?
