Who is going in august/when/where

Happy Birthday! You are so close! Have a terrific time!

Well, we are back to driving. I waited to buy our tickets and they don't look like they are going down before our trip.

I'm excited though because we are adding a couple of days. Our passes are blocked on Saturday so we are doing a day at the beach.

Any advice on a good, family friendly beach for a day trip?

Not sure how far you are willing to drive to the beach Halloween Queen, but there is a beautiful one at Corona del Mar beach (Its a state park). Corona del Mar is in between Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. The beach itself is lovely and usually good for swimming (though always best idea to check with the lifeguards when you get there) and the surrounding neighborhood is v nice. I grew up in Corona del Mar so am partial. Since you plan to hit the sand on a Saturday I would advise trying to get to your beach of choice before noon to get good parking as most of the So Cal beaches are jammed on summer weekends, and Corona del Mar is busy for sure on a Saturday.

Happy Birthday !!!! :joker:
Hi August Disneylanders, I'm moving over here from the July group, because it's a lonely place over there. I'll be at DLR at the end of July, but I'll be there for the first few days of August, so I think I qualify. :cool2:

Just wanted to say hello! I'm celebrating my birthday today, and this combined with the fact that we're 3 days away from our trip, I am very happy and grateful. :yay:

Nope, just going to take ours. :) This may be my first and ONLY driving trip to DL! :rotfl:

Thanks for the beach advice, everyone!

It's less than 2 weeks away for us now!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

HalloweenQueen, I kind of wish we'd decided to spend some time at the beach. I've heard good things about Corona Del Mar, too.

We started packing tonight. I live where it's typically 105 degrees, at least, these days, so I'm really enjoying packing a couple of long sleeved tops for California evenings. Who knows if I'll even wear them, but it's good to know there's actually a possibility of needing them.

 I am more than ready to be there! I'm staying up too late to review touring plans.

Are you guys doing ridemax? I'm thinking of buying it today and playing around with it.

We're going on the 20th and I bought mine a couple of weeks ago. I've used it several years ago and I liked it. Gave me a good starting place.

Hi! I'm a WDW vet planning my first trip to Disneyland as an adult (I last visited DLR when I was 2 but don't remember much).

I'm going to a conference in San Diego August 12-16 and heading to Anaheim as soon as its over.

The original plan was to do two and half days by myself - but a work friend decided to come and now we're doing one day together and I'm doing one half day by myself.

Nervous about the crowds but super excited to finally visit where the magic all began! See y'all there!

So I have about two weeks left and hope I have everyone added to the list. Did buy the photopass+ yesterday, really seems like a reasonable deal for our group. Again I thank everyone for their support thru my little ordeal.

I will continue to post pics daily up until I leave and then will do a daily blog/report with pictures and commentary about crowds, food, wait time, hotel stuff etc if there is an interest\from the park. This will be the 3rd year. Everyone have a great weekend..the Hydroplanes are in town for the Tri-Cities Water Follies and air show...70 -100,000 guests for the next 3 days, I will stay at home, do chores and float in the pool should be mid 90's to 100. Everyone HAVE FUN.

We're at about 2 weeks as well. I did buy ridemax today, and I just logged on to get my photopass+. Getting my grocery list together to send off to the resort and jotting down some last minute reminders. We haven't been to DLR since '06, so I can't wait to see all of the new stuff. I made reservations for apps, drinks and birthday cake at CCR on the balcony, during fireworks. I think that will be highlight of our trip. We just can't wait to be there! :dance3:

I have lurked this thread but havent posted yet. Going Aug 25 - 28, staying at PPH...getting so close!

No water follies for us either, Jack. We went one year and my kids were just bored stiff. We will be spending the weekend poolside as well! :thumbsup2

I was able to change our EE for our new timeframe. Disney rep was so nice and it really get me excited about our trip. Now I'm going to tinker with our dining reservations. I don't think we are going to parkhop as much as we usually do.

Have a great weekend, August DISers!

Finally found a decent price on a rental car today. We're a family of three and we are traveling with another family of three August 22-29. We were hoping to rent a minivan but the prices are outrageous! We decided to each book a car. Tried vroomvroomvroom.com this morning and came up with $160-something through Thrifty. Haven't seen anything under $200 and was starting to get nervous. Booked it. Then tonight I went back to look and it was down to $140-something. Went to Thrifty to see if they had any direct deals and a compact came up with a special city rate of $120! Ahhhhhh.... Feeling much better now!

That's where we will be heading for our beach day! My brother-in-law (who lives in Fullerton and we are visiting) used to live in Huntington Beach. Love the pear and Ruby's at the end!

Yes, please do a TR if you can..but don't have it interfere with the fun. I also bought at Photopass+ but will use if for the family trip in November..seems like a good deal.
