? Does this mean you will not be able to make the trip, Jack? :(

Newbie here...been reading for a while and finally started posting.

Will be at PPH concierge Aug 5-11 and the GCH Villa on 8/12.

Been going around once a year since 1996. Back in 2008 my son stepped off the Matterhorn and was stopped by Disney Cast members. We were all escorted down to Main St where they told us we won a night in the dream suite ! grand marshals of the parade; comp dinner at Blue Bayou; gust stars for Fantasmic up on the Disney Gallery; all night inside the park; after hours tour inside atractions;breakfast at Plaza inn. unreal ! We realize we can never top that !

Evening as the sit down space starts to fill.

Glad that you are back Jack!! :wave2:
Take care and rest! :goodvibes

By the way, is this close to where people line up for assigning Fantasmic Dessert Seating?

Thanks for all your invaluable advice and insights!! :thumbsup2

If you look across the way you can get an idea of where the people are staking out there spots.

Well, as it happens we will be back in August, we will be there with DBF's family, his parents, sister, BIL and their 3 kids so we will be a party of 11. I'm looking forward to it!

Oh ya, we are staying at the Red Lion next to the Toy Story lot, DBF's Mom is gifting us the hotel stay so we are staying where she booked us.

Ok, I need to turn to the DLR experts again. DW and I plan to go to DCA on a Tuesday. We want to leave the park about 2 in the afternoon to go to Gardenwalk to have a late lunch/early dinner, then head back to DCA to watch WOC. Would we be able to accomplish this? Would FP's still be available? Is it close enough to walk there and back?

Gardenwalk is an easy walk and sometimes Tuesdays are busy days so you may want to get them before going over, just a thought.

Hi All - I'm a looooong time lurker (years of it, really) and am finally putting forth my first post b/c I am just so happy to see blackjackdelta back online, answering questions, and being the great helpful source of information that he's always been. I hadn't quite realized how much I cared about the disboards community until reading of Jack's illness. I've followed his posts (and Hydroguy's and all the rest of you) for so long and found not only great tips and v useful practical information but also a group of people who love Disneyland as much as I do. I've been to Disneyland pretty much once a year since I was a toddler in the mid-1960s, and there is no place like it. So many memories there.

And we will be going again the week of August 13th and staying at the Disneyland Hotel (which I haven't stayed in since my husband took me there for my birthday visit 17 years ago.) My DH loves Dland too and has been going since it opened (he was three years old in 1955). Our kids (DD age 9 and DS age 15) are v much looking forward to new Monorail slides, and I'm scheming for some tiki-time at Trader Sam's. The countdown is on at our house!

Thank you Disboarders for all the years of great content. <3

Happy Birthday Disneyland! Good to see you back Jack, I haven't been to DL since Nemo was put in so it's nice to see the photos.

Emailed today to set up BD cakes for our Carthay lunch, it's getting close!

I'm just back from China and I'm sorry to read of your illness, Jack. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery! Take care my Tri-Cities friend! :thumbsup2

Thanks Jack, hoping you'll still be able to make your trip. Maybe we'll bump into each other!

Maybe we will, that would be nice.. I will post if I go right before the weekend of the 11th. 76", 200lbs, always have a hawaiian shirt on, sunglasses, cargo shorts, traveling with 4 young adults and my wife.

Hope things prove out.
