Is there a purpose to the rooms? Or is it just something fun, like on Toontown?
I saw that I can buy furniture but I am saving up all of my credits to buy film (since I am still trying to complete the Hidden Mickey hunt). Can setting up a room a certain way help a player?

Sorry - I just haven't played around with the rooms at all!

in setting up the rooms you mean like in Animal Crossing where you place the furniture counts? I am not sure that in VMK it matters. I think it is just your preference only time will tell.

Contest 1: Space-Out Your Room

When: Saturday July 16, 10:00am — 5:00pm Eastern
Theme: Space
To commemorate the re-opening of Space Mountain, we want you to decorate your room in a way that shows how "spacey" you can be. Don't limit yourself to outer space — remember, there are many kinds of space.

Specifics: The room name MUST start with the word space to be eligible. Judging begins at will occur between 5:00pm and 7:00pm Eastern on Saturday. Room owner must be in their room to be judged. Any rooms not completed and named properly by this time cannot be considered. Only one room may be entered per Player, please. Winners will be announced on Monday in our Newsletter.

Contest 2: Celebration Showdown

When: Sunday July 17, 3:00pm — 10:00pm Eastern
Theme: Celebrations
Specifics: The room name MUST start with the word celebration to be eligible. Judging begins at will occur between 10:00pm and midnight Eastern on Sunday. Room owner must be in their room to be judged. Any rooms not completed and named properly by this time cannot be considered. Only one room may be entered per Player, please. Winners will be announced on Monday in our Newsletter.

Room owner must be in their room to be judged.

Maybe you need to be in it just until the judging group has gone by, unless they do a first pass to select a few, and then come back for final decision.

And I would NOT try to have it full, because we know at least that "VMK_" people can not get into rooms that are full, and they will likely be some of the judges.

Hopefully they'll clarify over the next few days.

I would like to enter. I'm new to this but I'll blunder my way thur it.

I would love to do a room tour. All the DIS rooms and teleporters are great. I get lost and trapped every time I try to visit the various rooms. If you see me, please help the old lady across the street so to speak. Thanks, TwirlerGirl.
