Who is counting down to Aulani?

We are headed to Aulani in January....2015. So we have quite a wait but obviously I am very excited about it!! :)

It will be me (50) and DH (45). :)

For those of you that are coming between now and March/April, remember it is raining season. We live here, and if anyone has any specific questions feel free to ask.

65 days for us...March 15-22. This is our first trip to Hawaii and we can't wait! We have a whale watching excursion booked early in the week. Any ideas how successful we'll be seeing one or more whales that late in the season? Thanks!!

Great question, What company are you using? We did a Star of Honolulu Whale Watching tour last year on March 30th. We saw 2 whales, and about 15 spinner dolphins. We also saw a couple of sea turtles. Also, last year bout this time (not that you can just up and fly out here) we went on the Makapu'u Point Lighthouse Trail and saw a few whales just from the roadway. http://www.hawaiistateparks.org/hiking/oahu/index.cfm?hike_id=23

Thanks so much for the information and the link to the parks! We are using the Adventures by Disney excursion through DVC/Aulani which also mentions viewing dolphins and sea turtles. I don't think there is a guarantee we will see whales as you get with some other tours. I tend to stick with the Disney tours since we mostly cruise on vacation. However, since there's no ship to leave us:), I may look around a little more if some of the private tours are just as good. Thanks again.

I would think you should have some luck - we once went to Hawaii in late April / early May for our anniversary and saw some stragglers off of Maui while on a snorkeling excursion. They were AMAZING. But I think March is still considered "whale season" so you should be good to go.

Leave in 21 days,2 days at Disneyland then off to Aulani for 7 days for our 26th anniversary then off to Napa and Sonoma for a few days before heading back east to N.J

Everyone enjoy! We're +4 days back on the mainland (in MN) :sad1: - so cold -
It was AMAZING. The only unfortunate part is, if we go back to Hawaii, we don't want to stay on Oahu. We want to do Maui and or the Big Island. Can trade in via RCI, but I've heard the RCI resorts don't hold a candle to Aulani.

You'll LOVE it!

MEEEE!! Add me to the list (officially now)!! JUST finished booking an IV studio for August 8-15!! :cool1: :dance3: :jumping1: So what is that? 7 months - is that like 210 days? :beach:

135 days to go for us! Checking in on May 23rd!

We went in May 2012 and it was the most AMAZING trip ever. We got back and immediately starting planning to go again. This time we are taking my parents, who have never been to Hawaii.

Can't wait! :banana::banana::banana::banana:

Okay, I'll join in! We have exactly 300 days until we arrive at Aulani! Cannot wait! :cool1:

We're not DVC members, but had a great rental transaction with a member and will be staying in a Standard View Studio for all 9 nights (me, DH, and DD will be 2).

This trip was something we wanted to do "someday", but that came sooner than expected when I happened to be checking airfare to Hawaii (because my in-laws wanted to go) at exactly the same time as Delta's big online price glitch on 12/26. :eek: $70/each for airfare was something we couldn't turn down, even if we weren't planning to go so soon. So, we're trying to find a nice compromise between a "bargain" trip and a really enjoyable, memorable vacation. We're so glad we were able to get into Aulani for a reasonable price - I think this will be an amazing family vacation! :thumbsup2 (if you want to know more, the second half of this post has the whole airfare story: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=50336964&postcount=17)

Looking forward to spending time around here getting more great tips! :goodvibes

27 days! We just booked last week for our daughter's 21st birthday! Unfortunately it is only for 4 days, but she is in college and does not have a lot of free time. We are looking forward to enjoying the spa and maybe some paddle boarding!

23 days for us. We'll be in a 2 bedroom for 10 nights. We've never been to Hawaii and are soooo excited. Dreading the long flights with a 1 year old, but other than that, excited!!!

60 days til Aulani! Whooohoooo!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can't stay off these boards! I swear I spend hours everyday checking these boards to see what else I've missed or if anyone else has posting anything new!:rotfl2:

87 days for us, 3 days on Maui first then 9 days at Aulani! Can. Not. Wait! :cool1:

68 days until we arrive at Aulani (65 days until we arrive in Hawaii). We've had Aulani booked for Spring Break since the DVC 7 month booking window but hadn't told DD until we actually booked air fare (since it was so high it may not have been about to swing it).

We fly to Hilo on March 20th to see Volcanoes National Park and other sights for a few days before flying to Honolulu on March 23rd. Just starting to plan now that we have plane tix!

27 days until Big Island and 33 days until Aulani!

Sounds like you have similar plans as us. Would love to her about what you end up doing and where you decide to stay on the Big Island.

I see you have a 6yr old. Can you recommend things to do (touristy and non-touristy) for kids that age? Our DD will have just turned 8 before our trip. We don't think she'll be interested in the Arizona yet and we've seen it. Looking for more active suggestions - anything in the water. Thanks!
