my friend is heading there on the 20th and is wondering:

"but i thought they used to have in the back alley of new orleans by the secret studio a place where they dress you like a pirate with a bandanna and some makeup"

I was just there last weekend and did not see a pirate dress up area in NOS. I think they used to do something called the Pirates League around Halloween-time, but I don't even think they did that last year.

As Angrose said, I don't think they're doing anything like Pirate League anymore. When Pirate League first debut in DL it was in NOS, in the old Court of Angels area, but that area is now part of the Club 33 entrance. In later years, they brought it back for HalloweenTime, but I also don't recall seeing it last year either.

Thanks. She's going to have 2 sad girls. I think the last time they were there was in October the other year do would make sense if it's out at Halloween

When they eliminated the carnival, Pirates League went away along with it.

Have your friend check the face painting booths (one in DTD and one by the Matterhorn; don't know if there are more). There may be pirate designs that she can request for her girls. If she brings her own bandannas, that might work out well enough.
