I saw a lot of posts here about people complaining that teenagers were trick or treating. I just wanted to say that we want to have some fun too! LOL. I do not agree with them pushing past the little kids and being rude. I also do not think that little kids should not be pushing in front of other people, but that is just common courtesy that parents should be teaching their kids at all times, not just on Halloween. Anyways, I was just wondering who is annoyed by teenagers trick or treating? Does it matter how they behave whether you care or not?
By the way, I went trick or treating last night with a friend of mine. We were both in costume (I went in my pajamas and I can't say what she went as, but it was not obvious and was not as revealing as some of the people I saw that were similar to her). I am 15 and yesterday was her 16th birthday. We both said Thank you at EVERY house. When little kids were going down the stairs in front of houses (and there were a lot of houses that had practically a whole flight of stairs in front of them) we waited until they came down before we went up. Would you be OK with it if all the teens behaved as we did or would you still have a problem with it? Just curious.

We had a lot of teenage trick or treaters, I don't have a problem with it. And they were all polite and respectful, and some really amused me when they tried to hide the fact they were startled by the flying bat on my porch. :teeth:

While I think 15 and 16 are kinda old to be Trick or Treating, it sounds like you handled yourselves properly. I wouldn't have a problem with it if you rang my doorbell.

What gets me are the teens who show up with no costume and just a wide-open pillowcase to catch the treats. C'mon, people. You gotta try...at least a little, please.

I'm not annoyed by teens ToTing at all! I'd be annoyed if they didn't have on costumes, but I'd be annoyed if little kids didn't have something on either.

Geez, just some face makeup at least. Some of the boys around here just did gruesome things to their faces with white & black makeup and wore regular street clothes. I thought that was fine too.

We had some teenagers too. They were all in some type of costume or at least a mask, and I'd say 90% said "ToT" and "Thanks" in a pleasent kind of way. So I've got no problem with it. Besides, I went until I was about 15 so I can't really complain!

I'm 17 and I decided to stop going out and start handing out the candy when I was like 13 or 14. It only bothers me to see other teens when they try to take more than they should or the dont dress up and say TOT. I like the little kids better though :) :goodvibes
