Who hops? or not?

We always use park hopping. We've been to Disney enough times that we can usually see what we want in each park in 1/2 day (helps that we go during off season too). So we'll only spend 2 days worth of passes to get to all 4 parks.

We always hop. We like to take a break in the afternoon, so we go to one park in the am, go back to resort and then go out to a different park in the late afternoon, evening.

We always hop, mostly to go to a park for a day, then have dinner at one of the Epcot resteraunts.

We always hop. Whether it be to eat, or because we want to see something else, we always want the ability to hop.

We like to have the option to hop, even if we don't always do it on a particular day. We go during a busy period, April school vacation, and we try to use the EMH privilege in the morning and then leave that park and go someplace else for the afternoon. Plus we sometimes like to just go back to a park, especially EPCOT, just to see illumnations at night.

We love to hop. THere are so many ways to travel around disney, i.e., boat, monrail, etc. So, if you're going to jump on the monrail, why not just take it to another park for the rest of the day? Also, I think it just makes the day more exciting. If you are the type to go back to the hotel to take a swim mid-day, why not go to a different park for the night time?

I used to be a dedicated hopper, but I've changed my ways with the new tickets. A non-hopping ticket costs the same whether you buy a 4-day, 5-day, 6-day, or 7-day ticket. The park-hopper option adds over $40 to the cost of each ticket.

With this new pricing, it makes more sense to me to go to the parks an extra day, rather than hop. Also, the Sea World ticket now gives you 7 days for the price of 1. If I do hop, it may be to and from Sea World.

We don't hop...we just like to take the time to see and play at one park a day and not have to go from place to place.

This will be our 1st trip without hopping. It's just DH and myself and we are only doing 5 days and one of those is at Sea World. The way our itinerary worked out, we didn't need to hop so we saved the money and we're putting it toward something cool, like maybe a massage...........hmmmmm..... Since we were just there in October, this trip is more layed back then before so our evenings are more relaxed ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo .

We did on our first trip last Oct. and aren't on this one in Dec. (I don't think). On our last trip, the only reason we hopped was for dinner, and since it was our first trip, we missed out on alot of stuff at the park we left that evening. This trip we are saving the $200 and going to stay at that park the whole time. It will be fun to see the afternoon parade and fireworks that night. The next time we go we might hop, but we are going to try it this way this time.

I did think ahead about the day we'd be at AK, since it closes early, and we will just pick to go there on a day when they have Evening Magic Hours so we can stay a little later there.

We were going to hop for this trip but I decided to skip hopping & get 7 day tickets instead of 4 & save $200.00 & we can now go into a park everyday if we want to.

We almost always hop too. It's usually to eat dinner in the evening at Epcot.

We are park hoppers. We usually go to one park in the morning, go back to resort to swim in the afternoon then head back out at night.

We hop because DS(8)and DD(6)still need a break in the day so we leave for a nap/quiet time at the resort. Also, their interest in World Showcase is limited so we go to Epcot several times to break it up for them. The one time we tried to stay at MK most of the day the next day was wasted because they were so tired. :wave2:

We didn't hop on our first trip and we won't hop this summer either. I believe this is because we are the LAZIEST people here on the DIS. When I read about people who go all day, opening to fireworks day after day I can't believe it. Our speed is more like this: get there at opening, stay for 2 or 3 hours, stop for a nice air conditioned lunch, stay for another hour or so and then head back to the hotel to swim, relax, maybe lie on the big comfy bed and read a good book. Then get dressed, go out for a nice dinner. I really enjoyed the parks last trip, but I also enjoyed the other things -- the beautiful pools, the nice restaurants, the time to just sit back and relax.

We're staying at the Swan this time and if hopping was free I'd probably try it once or twice to see a fireworks show or eat dinner in WS. But I can't see paying $70 extra for us to hop to a restaurant -- I'd rather use that money to upgrade us to a couple of "signature" restaurants at the Boardwalk.

If we were going in early June as we first planned we probably would have gotten the base tickets but because we had to change our plans to mid July when the crowds will be much worse, I've decided to buy the hoppers. I want the flexibility to take advantage of morning EMH and hop to a less crowded park as the the day goes on. Sure, it takes a little time out of your day to travel between parks but I don't mind spending 30 minutes sitting on an air conditioned bus in the middle of a hot summer day.

Hmmm park hopping is always going to be my choice and I'll tell you why:

When I was about 13 my parents took me to WDW and our first day in the parks we spent at MK and really soaked in the disney spirit, checked out the magic shop (I miss it terribly and now hate plush), ate dinner at the Liberty Tree and then my parent's suggested we head to Epcot. We were like, "but we're here now, this is the park we chose today" but it was 1988 and the park hoppers were in effect so we hopped onto the monorail and glided into epcot as the sun was setting. SSE was aglow with purple lights, future world was buzzing and it was an extra magical time, we were in WDW!!

The year of a paper route saving to buy my brother's and my ticket (part of the deal we struck with mom and dad) was paying off huge.

We hit some rides and then we started around world chowcase, got an ice cream and then, out of nowhere, Illuminations started and we enjoyed the show, not knowing it was supposed to happen (btw it was the old illuminations with the 1812 Overture synchronized to the big BANGS, made me a super fan of Tchaikovsky). WELL, we headed back to the resort after that and decided Park Hopping was the way to go.

Now with a 3 month old daughter I hope to share some of the same experiences with her. Park hopping is what, in my mind, makes it Disney WORLD not Disney Parks.

We are hoppers too and we do that as to not burn ourselves out all day in one park. Plus, if the park we picked is jammed with people, we just go to another park. EPCOT is usually peopleless in the evenings and a good time to see everything. If you entered AK for the day, there is not much to see here and it does close at sunset, what do "you" do ? We hop ! MK is always opened the latest of the parks and when one of the others closes we go and finish out our day at the MK We've seen Fantasmic numerous times and the stadium is crowded and nuts so we leave MGM and go to MK. MK is our favorite park and with the hopper advantage, we can pop over there any time we want.
