Who "hops" and who doesn't and why??

I like to have the ability to hop but may not always do it. Now we have AP's so its a moot point I guess. I do know that a couple of times we have gone to MK and the crowds have been so nasty we were glad to get out of there and do another park! I am always one of those people who second guesses herself so if I couldn't hop I would probably be stressing the whole time about the "what's it like at another park" factor! Just weird me I guess! Also on the last day its nice to be able to get in any things you might have missed and those things might involve more than one park.

we always hopped.. I think this trip in October we are going to go with the one day tickets since we are doing the mnsshp 2 nights. We like many others do one park in the am and hop on over to another, usually Epcot or Magic Kingdom for parades/fireworks.
The big decision this trip is Blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon... since I have a 14dd and 5 dd we may just split up and Dh does the BB and I do the Lagoon.. sorry got off topic..

enjoy no matter what you decide! :)

:jumping1: Hoppity-hop-hop-hop! We wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we weren't able to go to Epcot in the evenings and have dinner, or go to the MK and watch Wishes and ride the TTA! We L-O-V-E to hop!!

On my last vacation, I bought Hoppers, but because I took such a short trip, I didn't use them. When I was younger, my family would alwasy hop because we would take longer vacations.

Refuse to hop! Too much to see and do. I find it a waste of time with traveling, getting into the park, etc. Much more efficient to stay at one park the whole day and see everything. We also do not go back to the hotel to rest/nap. We're at Disney- we want to be around the magic as much as possible! We rest when we get home :) princess:

we used to buy hoppers all the time but now we just do 1 day. There's just too much to do and i never get to finish all that I want to in the park that I'm in, so I don't buy hoppers any more. I like to leisurely explore one park one day at a time.

We hop because you never know what the park you first go to will be like. If it is really crowded you can go to another. Since AK closes early, you can hop over to another park to seee their night show. And if you have enough time on your last day, you can hop to all the parks to do what you didn't get to do during the week. I have done 3 parks in one day but I haven't been able to get to the 4th.

11 day dance :dancer: :dancer: :thewave: :dancer:

we are hoppers also! Somedays we do stay all day, if the crowds are nice, etc. usually though we hop 2xday. will august ever get here????????

Always have been. I really couldn't imagine not hopping. I don't think there's been a day at the parks that we didn't. I guess it's just what we like to do.

Hopping will be more important for us this time because since they are only releasing the hours 2 months ahead and I make PS's (or AR's) 3 months ahead, I've had to plan my schedule without the use of the Disney schedule. So for the EMH and Spectro and Wishes, will have to hop. And also with AK closing at about 5, we're got to do something for the rest of the night!

We bought hoppers last trip(and only trip) and never hopped.Like someone said-too much to see.I do have a question. If you leave a park for a rest can you return to that same park later in the day? :wave2:

I would NEVER go without hopper tickets.

We go in the off season and still find hoppers invaluable. We go to the early open park before the open, stay for about 2-2 1/2 hours, and then leave the early open park.

It means that we are always avoiding the crowds.

Given what I spend to get to the parks, stay in the resorts, eat, etc., the hopper option is a small price to pay to double the amount I can do in a day.

We hop we go to water park in the morning and then lunch and rest at fort wilderness, then back to a park in the afternoon and evening, we go for 12 days, so we can afford to be on a more lazy schedule......

We have only not "hopped" on one trip and I got burned out not hopping. For some reason I felt I had to stay in THAT park the whole day because I wasn't going to beable to come back to it(we only went to the parks for 4 days that trip.) I like to hop. I like spending my evenings at Epcot so we almost always do one park in the morning then Epcot at night.

Even with the non-hopping passes, you should have been able to leave and return to the same park. You can get your hand stamped, when you leave, and show it when you return.

I never buy a ticket without park hopper on it, even though we don't park hop everyday.

We get up early and head to the park and when it gets busy around 11am, we head out back to our resort. We rest for a few hours, then, we head back out around 6pm. But when the kids are too tired to go back out, we just stay in our room and relax or we just go swimming.

We always park hop, it's much more fun that way. We don't like spending one whole day at just one park, we like mixing it up a bit. The only day we don't park hop is the last day, which we usually just spend at MK.

Annual passholding hopaholic here. Nothing new to add to this thread, as others have said it all. About the only time we don't hop is the rare occaision when we make a marathon of a day at Epcot.

We love to hop as we are a fly by the seats of the pants WDWers. WE have many trips under our belt and enjoy the love to just wing it. First bus to arrives starts our day. We then just stay at a park until we decide to move on to the next destination. Our son loves the bus, boats and monorails so to him it is another attraction to be done. Also, we find if we are at a crowded park we just switch to another one or go back to the hotel for a swim.

We have always beent his way I think it adds to the trip.

Yes, even without the hopper option, you can return to the same park on the same day. I believe you're supposed to get your hand stamped on the way out, so they can check it when you come back in. However, with the new bioscans matching fingers to passes, that may not even be necessary any more - since you wouldn't be able to leave and give your pass to somebody else to use for the latter part of the day.

We don't plan on hopping. We'll be there in December, when the parks close earlier, and we aren't planning to go to AK at all. In our party of four, there will be two wheelchair users, and we're staying offsite. We just don't want to waste the time it would take to leave one park, and go to another.
