Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

I'm having trouble finding my pictures in Memory Manager when I'm using SBC+. I can "share" my pictures when I'm in Memory Manager, but when I try to "get photos" when I'm using SBC+ I can't figure out where to look for them. I've had the same problem trying to upload pictures, you know when you "browse" from a website and find a picture in a certain folder? I can't find the right folder. I can find a creative memories folder, and my "vault" folder, but my pictures never seem to be there. If I've put the pictures in picasa or some other place, I can find them- just not when I've put them in Memory Manager.

It feels like I must be missing something obvious. Any tips? I love SBC+ but Memory Manager has yet to win me over.

I am not sure if you can "get" them from SBC+? I have never tried to do it that way... Now that I have MM 3.0, I love it because I just open MM and right clock on the pic I want to use and "Send" it to SBC+... or if there are many pics, I throw them on the clip board and send them to SBC+ from there.. I just looked to see if I could "get" them while in SBC+, and I don't see a way.... Anyone else know?

This question is for Jessica (I know you have done it because I looked at your book) or anyone else who has printed one of their storybooks from SBC+ through Shutterfly. What is the secret to getting your SBC+ cover to display/print correctly? I have gotten my pages in with no problem but when I drag and drop the cover it only shows a portion of it and I can't seem to figure out how to move it around so the proper part shows in each of the sections (front, spine, back). Any advice is greatly appreciated!:confused3

You can't "get " pics directly into Storybook Creator Plus from Memory Manager 2.0. I was sure there must be a way so I called CM, but there is not. (This was supposed to be corrected in the MM 3.0 upgrade, but I haven't tried it yet.

What CM suggested I do was export the pics that I wanted in SBC+ to a file (that I called exported pics) under My Pictures. Then from SBC+ you simply go to your exported pics file and and select the pics you want to import from there.

Hope that makes sense!

Jen

Thanks Jen. That does make sense. Interestingly, I got the 3.0 upgrade, but I still can't get it to work. Maybe I'll try customer service.

I hope you guys don't mind me posting here - I just don't know where else to turn!

I have been trying for several weeks to buy a serial number for SBC+. I have SBC installed, and from what I understand I just need to buy a serial number to 'unlock' the upgrade.

The problem is, I'm in the UK and SBC+ isn't sold here. Does anyone here have any suggestions for how I can buy this??

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :flower3:

I remember it was complicated. I know I ended up making .jpgs for the front and back covers and I ended up using one of Shutterfly's plain predesigned spines because I couldn't get the whole thing to work right for me. I was so frustrated with it at that time, I just gave up trying to figure out how to do the whole cover! Sorry I don't have a better answer, maybe someone else can help us out! I'd like to know, too!

Have you tried purchasing it online? It's worth a shot. Try going through the U.S. website instead of the UK. If it doesn't work, PM me and I'll see what I can find out for you.

Hi there --- you can use templates if they have the individual .png files with them. (You can't use the ones that just have the .psd files because those are for photoshop.) You download the template with the .png files and bring the pngs into the program just like other elements, then you can "fill" the elements, paper, etc. with your stuff.... If I find a template I like, I usually "make" it in a storybook and save it, and then make a copy of that template when I want to use it so I always have my original template to reuse in SBC+... that's probably clear as mud. LOL!

There have been a few template questions recently, and since I had some myself, I went back through the posts and found the above directions from Christy. (post 308, page 21) Those instructions helped me a lot, but I was still having trouble placing the elements of the template on the page in the right spot. I finally figured out that if you bring the elements of the template into SBC+ as an embellishment, you can then open a blank page and right click on each element of the template to add it to the page in the correct spot. You may have to adjust the layering at least everything is where it belongs.

And I have to add that if the Christy on this thread is the same Christy who inspired a collection of Brit's templates, they were the impetus for me to learn how to use templates not specifically made for SBC+!

A couple of questions

I am ready to print some pages. 12x12 size
What is a good website to order them from? How should I be saving them in SB in order to print them? I have my pages on Photobucket.

Is there a way to delete the pages that have been saved directly in SB? I can't figure it out, but I have my pages saved in a folder on my desktop and the same pages are saved in SB. I also have a test page I want to get rid of.

Thanks!
Kelsi

Hi Kelsi! I would highly recommend scrapbookpictures.com for printing 12x12 pages. I believe their regular price for that size is $3.50 (which is much cheaper than a lot of places) and they run specials periodically where they go down to $2.50 a page. They have wonderful customer service, and the shipping is always a flat $2 regardless of how much or how little you order.

As far as saving for printing here is what I do:
1.Under the home tab go to the save function and go down to the save pages as.
2. In that window it will give you a place to specify which folder outside of SB you would like to save to. I just keep a "pages to print" folder on my desktop that use for this purpose.
3. Make sure you select whether you want all of the pages in the storybook you are working in or just certain ones and save at the highest quality as a jpeg and you are good to go.
4. Then you just need to upload to whatever site you chose to order your prints from and you are all set.

Hope this helps!

Sometimes I notice that when I add a picture with the "drop picture here" box and make them smaller squares the edges of the pictures look jagged. Will they print this way or is it just the computer?

I have some like this - they printed just fine - just in case, save the page to a jpg and look at it at 100% on the screen.

Okay ladies, forgive me if this question has been answered previously (I am only about half way through reading this thread from the very beginning). Is there an easier way to mat a picture that you have cut into a shape? For example, if I cut a photo into a circle it requires me to flatten it which then takes away the mat function under the photos menu. So I have been drawing a circle in whatever color I want my mat to be and then putting it behind the picture but then I worry about getting perfectly proportioned all the way around etc. Is there an easier way that I am missing? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Here's a new 12x12 SBC+ template for you.... Happy almost summer!!!

That's pretty much how I do it too.... I usually cut the shape out of a piece of paper. For circles and squares, when you are using the cutting tools, you can click "make circle" and "make square" to make sure your shapes are perfectly symmetrical...so they should be proportioned right, but you do still have to line them up manually behind the pics...

Christy- Thanks for confirming that I wasn't doing more work than necessary to mat shaped photos that definitely makes me feel better! And thanks for the adorable template, I have some perfect pictures to use it with. Great work as always!

I am new here and very excited to find others using CM Storybook Creator Plus. I was a consultant, but am not now. I still feel like the program does all I need it to. I have been using it for almost 2 years now, but loved all the different ideas you guys have! Thanks:)
