Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL PAGE!!!!!!!!

Does this software work with the MAC, or is it Windows based machine only? What's the best way to purchase the software? Thanks!

I am pretty sure it does not work with Mac, but I think they are working on that.

Hello Ladies, just found this thread. I couldn't possibly sift through all posts, but I did put a decent dent in them. Lots of beautiful work! I am a CMC, but I clearly have a lot more to learn about SBC+

Christy, your 20008 Storybook is great!! Just a bit of trivia, exactly how thick a book is 98 pages?:confused3

I look forward to seeing more LO's and hopefully I'll be adding some of my own.

Thanks for your kind words... :) With the cover and everything, I'd say it's a little under an inch.... :goodvibes

I'm another newbie to SBC+ and I've learned just enough to be dangerous!! Thanks so much to all who have posted the information in this thread. You don't know how helpful it's been to me. And I'm hoping to scraplift liberally from your beautiful layouts!

I do have one question...I've downloaded several of Christy's templates (thanks for sharing them) but when I try to import into my SBC+ storybook, it says the page is the wrong size and won't let me import. I even created another 12 x 12 storybook just to be sure that I hadn't inadvertantly picked the wrong size pages but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Thanks again!

Jen

Hmmm.. mine are all in 12x12, so they should work... that's weird.... I'm not sure what the problem would be...Wish I could be of more help.

Thanks for the kind words guys! I take most of my ideas from others here and of course from Brittney!!!

It is windows based. If you have an Intel based PC and running Windows though Parallels or VMFusion you can use it on a mac. I do.

It is a costly solution but if you have other reasons to install Windows it may be worth it to you. Windows XP is becoming harder to find so if it is something you'd like to consider I'd do it soon. Running Vista is possible but needs far more RAM (min 4 gigs). The min for Vista is 1 gig, I'm running 2 and it is still slow when I also have iPhoto running.

XP will cost about $200 and another $80 for the machine emulators. Then you need to factor in the cost of SBC+ and any papers etc you buy.

I will try again or call CM. Let me just say again that the templates are great!!

I've created my first three digital layouts, and I'm hoping that I've copied the link from photobucket correctly. I'm very open to all thoughts and constructive criticism. I know I have lots to learn! Christmas pages done with Brit's Hustle and Bustle kit.

Thanks,

Jen

I see my layouts in the previous post are too big--sorry! If someone can please let me know how to fix them I will. Maybe I chose the wrong photobucket link?

Thanks..I do have an Intel based Mac and I already have Parallels but just wish that it works on the Mac. You said cost of papers...do I need to get special papers? I am new to scrapbooking and I think I will enjoy Digital Scrapbooking. I also have Photoshop CS3.

I run it in parallels and it is ok. Getting the photos from iPhoto to SBC+ is annoying.

I drag them from iPhoto to my desktop and then into a folder on my Windows desktop and import them into SBC+ from there. Once my page is saved I delete the leftovers in SBC+, and the copies on both desktops. It is time consuming and cumbersome but it works.

In SBC+ you don't need to buy additional things but Creative Memories sells digital kits that IMO are handy to have. They also have some free downloads.

If you are running PhotoShop and are comfortable with that I'd think about using that to do your pages.

I personally like SBC+ because I don't have to do much customizing if I don't want to. I can use a template or a kit. I still do my albums traditionally but I do albums for my kids digitally so I like having the templates available. They cost $4-8 each, I think.

Jen,

You have a choice of which size image you want to copy. I haven't used Photobucket for a while so I can't remember exactly how it works, but I always use the "large" size when I copy a link from SmugMug. Check it out to be sure!

For those of you who are using Macs, where did you purchase yours? I am just starting to research MacBooks, and I see that they are rather $$$. A friend of mine told me that if you order directly from Apple that you can save some $. But I am old school, and I like the brick & mortar store in case something goes wrong.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

the Apple store is your best bet. I did order my most recent one from Apple online but you can take it to any Apple store for any repair issues etc.

But FWIW, I haven't had any reason to ever take any of our Macs in.

Thanks. Another question. What parallel program do you use to run your windows based programs?
