Who here uses CM's SBC+ for digital scrapping?

hi friends,
i am sitting in the waiting room at HUP waiting for my husband to get out of surgery. (prayer angels please say a prayer for Bob.....)

anyway- I have been working on the same 2 pages for our disney book for almost 2 weeks now---- can anyone tell me the easy way to view a 2 pg LO at once in SBC+? I can NOT figure it out and i can't really see the pages in the viewer the way I want to....

also, how do you mirror a page if you want to duplicate a page and then flip it for the opposite page in a 2pg layout?

I just saved it as a jpg and flipped it in photo editor and re imported it- BUT now it's a jpg and I can't move the stuff---

ugh, friestrated!!!!!:confused3

thank you!!!!

I know that you can see the pages side-by-side when you click on the "order" button, but if you have more than those two pages, it does take a while to download. The only other way I do it is when you're viewing pages in the sidebar, to expand the sidebar as much as you can before it goes into multiple pages (I hope that made sense!).

The way I flip a page is to group everything together, flip it in "layout", then ungroup. If you want the background page to flip, too, then make sure to unlock it.

I hope this helps... And our prayers are with your husband!

Thank you for the prayers and the help!
So, I grouped- duplicated page- and then did the rotate and now I can no ungroup- I had to flatten to flip it around and now I can't un-flatten :) How do I ungroup now?

thank you soooo much!

i only do the paper huh?
I get it now----- cause I could just add more pictures..... right?

  • If you want to flip everything, then group everything.
  • If you want to flip only certain elements, then group just those.
  • If you want to flip the background, then you will have to unlock it first, then remember to lock it once you have flipped and ungrouped everything.

Make sense? If you don't group everything but just highlight them and do not group them and then you flip it, then every single element will flip on it's own axis. I had to learn that the hard way. It's kind of a pain to go through all of the steps, but it's the only way to do it.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Did you guys notice there are a lot of new free downloadable themes on Cm's website? I think I downloaded all of them. The bright baby boy ones have some really cute layouts that would make great Disney pages (like nice collages with lots of picture spots). Don't forget, even if you don't like the theme of the book, the layouts of the pages are all different, so they are all worth downloading!

so- thank you for that---- I did notice that everything flipped- like the pictures i had on the previous page- but i didn't want them anyway---- but something got funky for me--- so I just set up the paper and grouped that and then flipped it--- I think I did get it to work with the embellishments too---

my husband made out just fine- had to stay overnight so thank you for the prayers and thoughts.

new question for today... how do you put a picture along the seam of a 2 pg LO---

thanks guys!

I'm glad that your hisband is doing fine and that he'll be able to come home today!

Honestly, I've never done a photo over a page seam. In my opinion, it wouldn't work out well.

I don't know if you have seen this tool, but if you go into "view", you can click on different ways you can view your page on the editor. One choice is to show if it's a right or left page. When you choose one of those views it will display a shaded bar on the page. This bar shows you the area of the page that will not be seen once the book has been bound. I always check every page I do with this tool before I send the book off to print. If I didn't, I'd have lots of journaling, etc., that would've been cut off.

So, if you still want to try doing a photo over two pages, you'd have to manipulate two photos (one on each page) that they would somehow line up. Even still, I'm not too sure how well it would work.

Anyone else have any ideas?

i had heard about that but never looked at it before-- I guess because i export pages as jpgs for now and am putting them in my shutterfly book to finish up a book I started FOREVER ago!

thanks so much for the help!

VERY useful!

me again-
I just went into view and i only see the choice to make my view different-- either pics to the right or at the bottom... I don't see any options that would let me see left or right page?

Maybe i'm not in a book---- maybe this is just pages... hmmmmmmmm

priceless!!!!!

You are the BEST for helping me!!!!

I would have lost words- faces- embellishments!!!

Thank you!:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Oh yeah, that view thing is important. I try to keep my view set to "trimmed" when I'm working, so I at least say away from the edges. Then I check it as the right of left page as needed when I'm finished with the layout.

I've done pictures along the seam -- for 2 page LOs that I print out and put into my kids' albums. Disneybaby taught me the trick to viewing a 2 pager so that you can line up and over lap elements along the seam, etc. Open one of your pages and then go over to the right Page View and drag the other page in (like an element). You'll get this little square cross hatchy thingy, and it will take a while for the page to come up. But, once it does, you can enlarge it and place it next to your page to line everything up. (You'll have to view in "ALL" to do this.... You can delete the extra page once you are done. DisneyBaby probably explained it better than I did.... Hope this helps!

Ok-I need help. I'm new to CM Storybook +. I bought the Disney pre-disgned pages, entered codes-no problem. Then I bought the Graduation pre-designed pages, Pooh add-ons & Princess add-ons. I enter the codes & nothing. :sad2: I've rechecked my codes, reentered a dozen times & they're still not adding them. Please help! I'm going nuts!:headache:

If you are sure you are entering the correct code with the correct kit I am not sure. Their is a technical help line you can call and they will actually reset everything for you and walk you through getting it up and running.

Maybe someone else has better insight. I have had to call before because I moved my SBC+ to a new computer and they were great.

Have you tried to cut and paste the codes into the spot? I have found that works the best for me after I had major problems when I tried to hand-enter 7 different codes.

If cutting and pasting the codes still doesn't work, then you should contact the CM digital tech support line at 866/440-2420.

I'd call CM, too. They are very helpful. I'm sure they'll get it straightened out for you!

I went to a CM crop this weekend and saw a little of the storybook creator plus. I'm more of a "hands-on" person and I neeeeeeeeed to feel the paper and stuff, but it looks so easy! I'd really be interested in what people think about the Disney stuff.

Hi everyone - great thread! I'm a CMC and was just at the national conference where I talked with the SBC+ gurus. They know that being able to work on side by side pages is a big issue and they are working on that. They are also trying to work on a solution that works for Macs. My biggest pet peeve is that SBC+ and MM2 don't "talk" to each other. They said that should be fixed with the new MM2 upgrade. Sounded like that should be out early next year.
