I had to take some time to do a little bill paying, so I'm running a little later than usual this morning. I think I have also lost my ability to spell/type.

good morning! I missed you guys these past few days. My dad was all confused. Understandable, considering...we had calling hours Tues. and the funeral yesterday. It was the first military funeral I've been to. We spent a lot of time at my aunts house these past few days just visiting w/all the family in town. It's sad it takes something like this to happen for us to get together and spend this much time together. It was nice to celebrate his life and talk about the "good ole days". He was a HUGE golfer, and built houses for a living, so there were a ton of golfing buddies there. Every owner the coarse has ever had came as well. They said he'd be the "most missed" by far. That was sweet. Guys were coming in saying they worked at the lumber co. he got most of his material from. It was just amazing, he touched so many lives. The funeral home put together a dvd w/photos and things on it and they were for sale. I've never seen that before! They also had candles and little things you could buy. I've never seen anything like that, but my sister and I both bought the dvd. I thought that was so cool.

I'll have to catch up in a bit. just had to drop in quick and tell you guys I've missed you so much and hope you're having a great week.

I have to catch up, but I wanted to give you all a little update.

Mike spoke to his sister last night. The first words out of her mouth were "I'm not crazy and I'm not pregnant". She has no idea any of us know about her husband's past. She said he's great though. Apparently, he has a ton of tattoos that are "deep". (I have a tattoo as well, but it was an odd statement, since she couldn't give much more info on him). Anyway, he is 32 and they are so much in love. Mike said she sounded like she was 15. I guess we are happy for her, but are just in disbelief.


Well, I have to head out for my doctor's appointment. Have a great day!

Wound up with a migraine and horrible nausea - everybody was out of the house, thankfully because I just laid in the dark bedroom. Until the dogs started barking.... and the phone kept ringing....

Linda...Welcome back! It sounds like your DGF had many people in his life. I've been to funerals that the funeral home makes the DVD and gives it to the family but never had it for others to purchase. I think that is sweet.

Morning everyone! I am so tired today, yesterday really took a lot out of me. Emma is not doing well this morning, she had to go straight into the bath this morning and still won't eat or drink anything, and the little bit that is going into her isn't staying there. We were freaking out because the contents of her mess this morning were bright green, but then we remembered she had a grape slushie at the hospital yesterday and blue dye sometimes comes back green. Sorry for the TMI!

Emma didn't even realize that Lyzzie didn't spend the night at my mom's house with her. She was in the tub and asking if it was morning - the poor kid didn't know because she woke up a lot during the night. I told her yes, it's morning, and she said, "Oh, I'd better go tell Lyzzie she has to wake up and go to school!" I started asking her who slept at Grammy's house, and she thinks Lyzzie was there all night. I thought that was sweet, she's just so used to having her sister around that she assumed she was in the other room.

Emma is going to see her regular pediatrician shortly. Their office just moved and they have undergone a lot of changes, which I am NOT happy with. This is the practice I've been taking both girls to since we moved here. In order to make an appointment, you first have to speak with a nurse at a central facility and THEY determine whether the child needs to be seen or not. My mom said the nurse was very rude, and kept asking, "What do you expect we'll be able to do for her? If she was just at Urgent Care, why are you bringing her in?" Um... because the dr. told us to follow up with you, numbskull! The UC doc even called the peds office to update them on what they did. We are going to try to change the primary care to one at the UC facility, they have a regular peds practice there as well. It's at a local Children's Mercy hospital and they have been so great. In fact as I was typing this, they just called to check up on her and said we can bring her back in for fluids if she still won't eat or drink anything.

I am ready for some new shows too!! I miss the show "Chuck"!

Me too! Lyzzie and I like to watch Chuck - she doesn't understand most of it but still thinks it's cool. I miss Pushing Daisies too. I was very happy to see that Desperate Housewives is back on! And I'm looking forward to American Idol starting back up in a couple weeks. Looks like you had a great night, I'm so happy for you!! It's great to "see" you smiling and floating around on your fluffy little cloud.

lyzziesmom...wow, poor Emma. I guess she was staying hydrated enough to let her go home? Did they have her on an IV? That sounds like a nice urgent care. We have a good one nearby too. I'll send a little pixie dust her way hoping she has a speedy recovery. She is probably being exposed to all these virus bugs now that she's in school.

No, they did not put her on an IV because she drank a little bit at the hospital and did finally go to the bathroom there. I never thought about it, but school definitely could be a factor in her recent illnesses. I just figured since Lyzzie goes to school, that we were already being exposed to the germs.

Linda: We missed you! I have never heard of funeral homes making dvds - what a nice thing to have. I'm not sure I like the idea of selling candles and stuff though - who'd have ever thought you need to bring your checkbook to a funeral?

I've been reading, but haven't had a chance to post. Everyone is in my thoughts.

It has been a wierd and emotional week thus far at work. A co-worker/friend in the spa was fired on Monday. It's just scary because we are so slow due to the time of year and major changes that happened through the summer, yet we are still expected to make all of these goals. I'm getting to old for this.


Anyway, must run to start getting ready for work, but just wanted to pop in to say hello and wish you all a good day.
