I can't sleep....
I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys this -I almost burned down Yankee Candle yesterday.... sort of
We have a candle that we have burning all day long, those of you that go in there will know this. Well..... I am very particular about my candles, they must always burn evenly, absolutely NO funneling and if they do I get my wax scrapper and push down the sides, no little carbon mushrooms that fall into the wax, no soot around the jar, and a trim wick, you get the picture. I've always been this way, when I was younger I would take a knife and cut around the candle to take off the excess that had not melted down. (may God bless the person who invented the wax scraper, when I bought mine, my manager said that was the first one he had ever sold) Anyways on with my story.... There were some carbon mushrooms that were at the bottom of a candle that we had just put out yesterday. I couldn't stand it. They looked like droppings at the bottom of the wax. So I grab my handy little wax scraper and try to fish them out of the bottom. It wasn't working very well. So I wiped the rim of the jar with a piece of tissue to get the soot and wax off and the tissue caught on fire!!!!! I didn't blow out the candle!!! I dropped the tissue on the tissue paper and blew it out! I started cracking up! For some reason I found this hilarious! My manager was shocked at first then started laughing. She asked if I had burned myself and I said no. So then I blew out the candle and used a wick trimmer and got the carbon mushrooms out!
(thumb) I learned my lesson....
It's a dream come true!
