Happy 2008 everyone!

we ended up staying home last night. My friends DH called to say that she started the party early and was already in bed and wouldnt wake up. lol! I didnt want to go out anyway! so it was just me and aj watching the ball drop. we drank 2 bottles of sparkling cider! we had brie and grapes too, it was sooo yummy.

we are supposed to have a cold front coming in tonight, with wind chill factor of 38 degrees, and freeze warnings in effect! I am sure that ash is glad she missed this! it was nice and warm while she was here.

I have a horrible stiff neck, started yesterday with a sneeze! so I am getting nice and cozy on the couch. dh gets home around 2 or 3 and we might watch a movie. hope everyone enjoys their day off, will check in later!

Hey someone commandered my laptop tonight.:scared1: :lmao:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIANA

Hard to believe that it was 20 years ago this evening.

All of our wonderful company is back in Illinois and the house is very quiet since Steve is working tonight. I've watched so much football that the teams are all starting to run together. But I'll be happy to start over again tomorrow.

A very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all!!

Maureen

Happy New year to you too, Maureen!!

ok, I made it....

Happy New Year...and good night. big partier huh:rotfl:
Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful evening!

I konked out on the couch early, but set the oven timer for 11:55pm.:rolleyes1 ......central time. :teeth:

join me!!!!

I may swap a little of this out for my nyquil------cuz it's not a good idea to mix alchohol.:lmao:

Cheers!! Like pozey said; here's to new beginnings in 2008!!!:grouphug:

Lesa:: Thanks for the healthy breakfast and nice hot coffee!! I need to lose a lot of weight this year. You can be my inspiration!!

Michele:: Have fun scrapbooking today!!

Shannon:: Sorry your party was canceled, but your evening home sounded great to me!!!:thumbsup2

I have nothing planned today, but taking down the Christmas tree. Gary thinks the outside decorations should wait until a warmer day; it's about 25 degrees out right now. :cold:

Have a great day everyone and stay warm!!!:sunny:

It's snowing a little right now!! I had to wake Nathan up to tell him, but he seemed more interested in sleeping!!:cloud9: :rotfl:

I also brought along some extra strength Rolaids for those that may have had a vanilla coke too many and filled the night with yummy snacks, like me. :hippie: Some extra strength Tylenol for those that may have had a little too much champagne. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the Rolaids Lesa...I need them. I just had another rice krispy treat for breakfast.:rolleyes1

Hey Donna...I'm with Nathan...sleep especially comes before snow.:rotfl: He will probably get up and see the snow and say "why didn't you wake me up". What did you do last night?

Good morning!!

Made cinnamom rolls this morning!!

Now, I have a pot of black eyed peas on the stove...

I was up at 6:00 am.....

Pozey...have you ever tired those Rhoades cinnamon rolls with the real cream cheese frosting? They come in a foil pan ready to cook. They are really really good. That's what the boys had for breakfast today!

that's awesome! Ok, if you get Michele, we get Lesa!:rotfl:

:lmao: oh, we'll never live that down! Mike was cracking up at our pics last night! That really was so much fun. And of coarse Kenny adding " my mom is really worried about this":rotfl: b/c he knows I get embarassed easily and I never do stuff like that. I like to lay lowwww...don't attract anyones attention;) but it was a blast and the boys (all 5 of them:rotfl: ) had a good time with it too!

Yep...that was fun. I may not lay that low but I usually do not like to be noticed...the Diney Magic was making me a little hyper!;)

Hi Shannon...soulds like you and AJ had a lovely evening! It's nice not to get out sometimes. Hope your neck feels better soon.:flower3:

Thanks Donna...now I need a deocrator to help me decorate! I stink at it. Oh...I just saw that you snoozed on the couch last night. Did your timer wake you up for the New Year celebration...or did you sleep through it?

/
Good morning, Queenie!!

I'm sorry I missed the party last night!:guilty:
We went out to eat, I looked at PhotoPass pics and set the oven timer to wake me up right before midnight.:rolleyes1
I guess I fell asleep again and went to bed at 2am. :cloud9:

HAPPY 2008! Man you guys are up early. After keeping the kids up late, they slept in until almost 10am this morning -- and so did I of course! Tomorrow's going to stink, going back to work. Looks like I missed quite the party here last night! I wasn't far - just in the next room over. We had a really good night!!

Michele: Have fun scrapbooking today! I'd love to see some of your layouts if you have a scanner. I have two floor-to-ceiling cabinets full of scrapbooking supplies (and some old dining room table leaves waiting to be attached to the cabinets and made into a desk) but I haven't actually scrapbooked in a year or so. By the time I haul everything out, we need to use the table and it's time to clean up! I'm SO far behind it's overwhelming. It's so sad, I have a ton of empty Disney albums and big baggies of memorabilia. 100 pictures? That should be enough... maybe. :rotfl: I have plenty of paper, I always buy it when it's on clearance and stock up, but I'm low on ink. Stupid Dell doesn't have any generic ink and it's EXPENSIVE! But I love my printer, so what can I do?

Mike told Kenny "see ya next year" when he went to bed:rotfl: then I had to spend the next 10 minutes explaining what the heck he was talking about! D'OH!

I told the girls they were done with school until next year, and Lyzzie thought she missed the end of third grade!

Oh did anyone else see....there is a new Stephanie Plum book coming out on the 8th!!! I think it is called Plum Lucky. I think it is another 'between the numbers' books but I can't wait. I haven't found any good books to get into lately.

I didn't know that, thanks for the heads up! I'll have to add it to my book club list - I have about 3 books I haven't started yet. I've been reading "Son of a Witch," the sequel to Wicked. So far it's pretty good, but I can never seem to find the time to read much. I keep falling asleep!

Hey someone commandered my laptop tonight.:scared1: :lmao:

Too cute! I know the feeling. Lyzzie took over my computer yesterday, so I commandeered her DS. Seemed fair to me.

All of our wonderful company is back in Illinois and the house is very quiet since Steve is working tonight.

Oh I just love that quiet feeling of getting my house back.

Lesa: We watched the ball drop twice - at 11 and at midnight. We took some old birthday party hats apart and turned them inside out, and Lyzzie decorated them with glittery letter stickers. We got out some noisemakers and had a blast both times. It was pretty fun! I took pics with my cellphone but they came out too dark. Did you guys watch the Dick Clark primetime thing? It was chock FULL of Disney Channel kids - Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Bros. Lyzzie was ecstatic.

Clutter the house, I love it that way! Makes the resolution a lot easier to keep. :lmao:

oh, and I received the Disney Scene It game------I request Michele on my team.:rotfl:

We have that, it's a really fun game! Santa got us the Disney Pictionary game for Xmas too, we like that one a lot too. Can I be on your & Michele's team? I'm the expert in our house, but something tells me Michele would put me in my place.

I love your leather furniture and new rug!!

Gary thinks the outside decorations should wait until a warmer day; it's about 25 degrees out right now. :cold:

I was admiring her decor too -- very nice! Ooooh, you lucky DonnaDuck, it's up to 25 there? That's positively balmy! It was about 18 here the last time I dared to peek at the thermometer. I'd love to stay in again today, but we need to go back to Target. The pharmacy didn't have enough of Lyzzie's Rx so we have to pick up the remainder, and we're almost out of pullups. Can't let that happen! :scared:

We also have to stop at Home Depot and get a stack of Mickey head paint chips. We write numbers on them and tape them to the back of the door to the garage for a countdown, and take one off every morning. EVERY DAY since Christmas, Emma has been asking, "Are we going to Disney World today?" It's so hard to look in her hopeful little eyes and tell her no.

Good morning!! I can't think of a better errand to have to run!!! Poor Emma; I hope she can hold on until your trip.:goodvibes

YM: I get coupons for those Rhodes rolls all the time and they look soooo good, but I don't think our local stores carry them cuz I can never find them. :( Now I'm craving cinnamon rolls! We had cereal for breakfast -- the kids' favorite food. Emma woke up asking for Grape Nuts, and since is the first sign of appetite she's shown in days I gave it to her. She ate all of 4 bites, which is actually quite an improvement.

Oh that reminds me - if any of our vacation-ears have PhotoPass pics I want to see them! I haven't checked my email in a week and a half though, so let me know if you send them to me please. I just talked to my mom, she said she went into her room at 8pm to turn on the electric blanket, then crawled over to my dad's side to turn his side on, and decided since she was almost lying down she's just stick her feet under to warm them up a little -- and then woke up this morning! Such the party animal, that one.

Ok who moved the smilies again? I know it wasn't me... this time. :rolleyes1

Turns out I don't have to buy the Mickey heads after all. My mom just called from Home Depot and is getting them for me. I asked her to get two of each color. We love them! They also make great bookmarks, and are fun for decorating just about anything.

Yippee!!!!! Thats great news to start the new year!!!!

That is such a cute idea!!!!!!

Well, happy new year everyone! We spent the evening at my BIL and SIL's house and it was alright. It was just the four of us and they were playing guitar hero. I was exhausted and had a really hard time staying awake. We came home right after midnight and slept in this morning, watched the Rose Parade, (my lucky inlaws are there) and are now watching Texas Tech get beat by Virginia...:confused3 They are supposed to win, did someone forget to tell them! We don't have much planned for the rest of the day. We were going to go to this touring baseball museum but it is only open til 5 so we might go next weekend.

It is a Happy New Year! I have been wondering what Chris was up to the last half hour or so, and he was giving the dogs a bath!!!!!!

Lyzziesmom, and anyone else who wants to see them, I have my photopass pics, just PM me your email and I'll send them sometime soon.

OK it looks like I have SEVERAL pages to read through, which I will.... but until I do - HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY!!!!!

Happy (belated) Birthday, Bree!!!

Wow, I wish I'd been around here last night!! However, it does appear by this morning's offerings, that there were some hangovers this morning???

Welcome home, Ashley!!!

YM - where can those Rhodes cinnamon rolls be found?? I LOVE cinnamon rolls, but have to make my own cuz the Pillsbury just don't do it for me. If I can find good ones that I can buy, I'm all for it!!!

Lyzziesmom - good to hear Emma was feeling better enough to eat a little this morning! The mickey heads on the door sounds like such a cute idea!!

Lin - PM sent!

We spent the entire evening at our friends' - spent a good deal of time playing with their 2 year old, but we had good food, played games, and mostly played Guitar Hero.... until about 1:30 a.m.!!! I got a call from my darling nephew from NC - he had been celebrating...... (where's the shaking the finger smiley?? :rotfl: )

Took all my Christmas stuff down and put it all away today, now everything's back to normal.

We booked our airline tix yesterday after work - they're on hold until I get the green light from the boss for all that time off.... Cost us a whopping $190 for the three round trip tickets - the transfer of miles fees and the booking fees. Best case scenario, we've saved about $500 on what we would've spent on tickets if we could've even gotten them that low, and worst case, we saved about $1,000.00 of what they're priced at right now for that round trip.

And I still have tons of catching to do here!!!

:yourmajestyisbeingaroyalsmartypants:........ :teeth: ......;)

Hmmm...I'm getting the impression that a couple of cliqueless pals think I'm being a smartypants...:confused3 :lmao: :dance3:

Rats...on the cinnamon rolls. You might look at Walmart sometime. Our Walmart carries them and the price is better. They are near the frozen rolls. Glad to hear Emma was feeling better.:)

Hey DznyFan...Reasor's or Walmart for the Rhodes cinnamon rolls. They are really really good. I buy the foil tin with 6 rolls. You bake them for 30 and them cover them in cream cheese frosting (real cream cheese frosting). :woohoo: They have bigger bag that you can get if you have a crowd. Those need time to rise before you bake them.

Hey, I just about freaked this morning when I just happened to be reading my weekly Southwest "destination" email. I just happened to plug in some dates for fun (HisMajesty...if you are reading please stop:rolleyes1 ). They have added a non-stop flight from Tulsa to Orlando on Saturdays and a return non-stop flight on Saturdays.:faint: :faint: :faint: I can't believe that...no transfers if you fly Sat to Sat!:cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:  Even if you can use one of the non-stops it will be glorious!:cloud9:

hey Michele!!!!

YM was just telling me about this today!!! I'll have to look into it. She was also telling me that Janet's daughter got married in WDW the same time I was just there-----Nov. 1st, I think it was???? If I were to see her, I think I'd flip!!!! (that and ask about Ranger and Morelli:rolleyes1 :lmao: -----like WHERE ARE THEY?

I can just picture you chasing this poor woman thru the parks:rotfl: I'd love to know who she thinks should play all of them in a movie.

Happy 2008 everyone!

we ended up staying home last night.
