Linda, YM and Donna; have you guys heard of the Yuletide Fantasy Tour? It sounds awesome! I wonder if I can fit it into my schedule...

Here is a link to a review from a couple of years ago, the main information is on the tours page. http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/tour_yt10.htm I will have to call to see if they are doing it this year.

Switch! ;) It was for $69 a night. So we are staying there for 3 nights for under $250!

Was that for room only or for a package? I got the AP rate which is only $49 a night, except on Fri/Sat nights then it jumps to $82. I am not a fan of the new pricing system! We did stay at Music earlier this year, but we've only stayed there the one time and it was just before the rehab they just did so it will probably feel like a different room. We love Pop but we've stayed there 3 times. :scared1: I really wanted to get a moderate, but it's twice the price and just not in the budget.

Good news -- Emma can walk again! My mom said that she gave her some Motrin around 2:00 and pretty soon Emma wanted to try standing, then she was taking baby steps and shuffling around, and within the hour she was running and even jumping rope! She still has a slight limp but I expect that to be gone soon. We stopped at Price Chopper and she was running all over the store! She slipped & fell but was fine, she got right up and said, "I just want to run all the time REALLY FAST!"

I just thought i get a quick peek to see how Okie friends are doing with all that ice. Wow all your pictures are incredible! Some are sadly beautiful! :sad2:

I've been sleeping on and off most of the day. I did pull myself together enough to take Britt to get her braces off. It took over an hour to get them off and they put a permanent retainer on her bottom teeth. By the time I got home I was so wiped out again I slept another 2 hours.

Thankfully the roads here weren't too bad. We got a sleet most of the day and the trees are lightly covered in ice, but it stayed warm enough that the salt kept the roads clear.

Lyzziesmom I'm glad Emma is up and walking again!

I make my own "milknog". The kids and I don't like it thick so I just mix it with milk about half and half (you can also dilute it with some banana rum ;) ). It makes it not so thick and with the price of it you end up getting 2x's the amount for your money.

If anyone is feeling ambitious maybe they could post everyones trip dates in one post. :flower3:

Well I think I'd better head up to bed. Take care everyone!

Some pictures for your enjoyment:

We had a cookie-making fest over the weekend. The results...

My favorite was too pretty to eat, although the girls ate it first.

Lesa: I do the same thing with eggnog, I think it tastes better mixed with milk and not only is it better on the budget, it's better on my tummy. I can drink twice as much before it starts disagreeing with me! That's why I was so happy to discover milk nog, with the price of milk these days even though the milk nog is not cheap, it's cheaper than mixing it on my own. My dad has the annoying habit of when the eggnog carton is half empty, he fills the rest with milk. Then he forgets to tell you it's already mixed, and you end up with a glass of nog-flavored milk because you mix it again. Blecch. I used to write "mixed" on it with a Sharpie when he did that.

Since I didn't have the kids this morning, I had ridiculous amounts of free time before I had to go to work. I went outside and took some pictures of the ice. We didn't get nearly as much as our Okie friends -- how are you all, btw? Then like a dope I brought my camera to work to share the pics, and forgot the cable that hooks the camera to the computer!

So here's my contribution to the ice photos. I think I'm finally figuring out how to get my camera to do what I want it to.

Oh crud. I just checked a bill that's been sitting on my counter for a few days. It's from the gas company. I recently signed up for online billing, so naturally I assumed it was a duplicate of what they send me online - the paper bills come quite a bit later and have not yet been discontinued. I keep my bill-paying calendar in my head but it must be getting a little crowded in there -- I got a disconnect notice!! I hurried right over to the website and sure enough, I haven't paid my November bill. Crud, crud, double crud!! I hope the new payment gets there in time, it's nice to have heat this time of year. (reference: above photos)

eta - I got it paid via virtual check and am trying to set up email reminders because apparently something went awry. I may be on a tight budget, but I NEVER pay my bills late. They don't seem to have that capability and I'm too tired to think straight. Reminder to self: Set up reminder for the gas bill so they don't disconnect service, or discontinue the equal pay plan! I have a small favor to ask of my friends -- don't let me forget about this tomorrow. I am post-Ambien tonight (fat lotta good it's doing on stopping the nighttime worries!) and not sure I'll remember to scroll back and read this.

Good morning, everyone!!

I hope you all have a Whimsical Wednesday!!!princess:

Donna - thanks for the breakfast this morning!

You know what has been really weird about the weather around here??

For as much rain and ice that we have gotten......the roads have been perfectly clear. All of the ice has just been on the trees and power lines.

I have also come to the conclusion that there is someone (besides me of course) very powerful that lives in my area. Our power was one of the first to be restored. And there are places around here that may be without power for 2 more weeks!!!

Good Morning!

Lyzziesmom, DON'T FORGET THE GAS BILL

I got my bassinet last night! I've been bummed, because they sold out online and the closest stores didn't have it. We went out to eat last night and went to two other Walmarts and found it! Now, we just have to put it together. I am so happy! I hadn't found any others that I liked as much.

Have a great day!

Amber: Congrats on finding the bassinet! I didn't use one with Lyzzie, but Emma slept in hers until she was about 8 mo's old. Yeah I know that's a big nono, but she slept so soundly in there and she was colicky, so I took what I could get, sleepwise! I finally had to move her out when her feet stuck out the end.

pozey: SO glad you got your power back on! I can't imagine being without power for 2 weeks, especially in that kind of weather. How awful.

Hi to everyone else! I am so far behind in my work, I should get some things done. Thanks for the gas bill reminders!! You guys ROCK! :)

I wanted a bassinet since his room is on the complete other side of the house. I don't want to walk back and forth all throughout the night (plus, I feel better with him right there).

He can use the crib during the day and when he gets older. :)

Here's what is looks like:

Nicole...yay for them letting you use that code:woohoo: that is awesome. it will be good to check out the area too!

Thanks for breakfast Donna...no need to panic:hug: it'll be alright! I'd love to take him parasailing...but I am guessing he's not old enough:confused3 I will have to check that. That would be AWESOME! I want to do it on Castaway Cay someday too!

glad your power is back on Pozey:cool1: :woohoo:

Lin...I've never heard of that tour..but http://disneymeetings.disney.go.com/wdce/index?id=ToursListingPage

I have to tell you about Kennys Journal:rotfl2: I was reading some of his entries since Thanksgiving he brought home from school... one was
"dear first grade journal: I think I am some kind of computer genius":cloud9: :rotfl:

"dear first grade journal: this year I am going to Disney World for kirstmas, next year, I bet I go to disneyland":rotfl2:

OMG I thought those were so cute! The computer genius one has me cracking up so bad:lmao:

that is cute! Kennys room was right across the hall and I had to have him in our room! I bought the pack and play that had the bassinett in it...it worked great for the first few months! you won't regret it.

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Amber- That is a cute bassinet.

Lyzziesmom-Great pics! Did you pay your bill yet??? ;)

Pozey-Yes, you must live close to someone powerful! That's great in times like this!

Linda- Kenny cracks me up! He has to go to DL next year!

I went to the school counselor this morning to tell them that I was doing the CP and see if I would get any credits for it. She knew nothing about it. So she called someone else and now I have to call back in a few days to see what they have to say. I did talk to my teacher and she said I might be able to use the CP as my co-op classes, I really hope I can.

Cute bassinet Amber! I like how it can slide right up to the bed.

"dear first grade journal: I think I am some kind of computer genius":cloud9: :rotfl:

That kid is a riot!!

I don't think there is a size/weight/age limit on parasailing. I seem to remember reading reviews of it and people took pretty little kids up with them. The info on AllEars is from 2005, but it should be the same (I imagine the prices have gone up though). It says solo fliers have to be a minimum of 100 lbs and children under 14 must be accompanied by a paying adult. I think you could do a tandem parasail with Kenny. I really wanted to with Lyzzie after we saw it on tv -- until I saw the prices. Yikes! The 2005 prices were:

Single Flight:
Regular: $90 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $ 112.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

Tandem Flight:
Regular: $140 per flight (8-10 minutes at 450 feet)
Premium: $162.50 per flight (10-12 minutes at 600 feet)

That's just too much money for too short of a time for me.
