Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

I think the girls and I are going to attempt to make some fudge. Dh was excited because he thought it was going to be his mom's fudge. I told him it wasn't because I can't ever seem to make anything but chocolate syrup. So we will try the Eagle brand quick method!;)
Hi Lesa!!

How'd the fudge turn out??!! Can I try some?? :)

Friday night Blake and I went downtown to the Opera House to see The Lion King. It was amazing! Blake was funny tho. On the drive home I was asking him how he liked it. He said it was good but that he liked the cartoon better:rotfl2: So guess what we watched yesterday morning??

Last night was his company Christmas party. It was kind of strange tho. First the party is for the 2 plants that are here. One is where Blake works adnd has some assembly but all of the sales offices. The other one is in the thumb of Michigan and has mainly assembly. But since we are one 'family' we have one party. So the party is about 1/2 way between the 2 plants. So everyone has a bit of a drive. Blake's boss worries a lot about people drinking and driving. Everyone gets a coupon for 2 free drinks and they have to be used before dinner. After that it is a cash bar for any alcohol, all soft drinks, etc are free. And to keep everyone busy he tries to have entertainment during the evening to keep some people from drinking too much. Last night he had a magician. He went table to table before dinner and did small bits then did a whole show for all of us after dinner. He was really lame tho. Then some actors came in and did a Murder Mystery It was OK but went way too long. No one could visit and talk with each other because you had to watch this THING going on around the room. Then we all had to guess who dun it

As soon as the mystery thing was over the boss spoke for a while, then prizes were handed out. Since Blake can't win any of those, I never pay too close of attention to that part;) The prizes weren't as good this year. They bought every employee a gift basket, with chocolates, coffees and teas. Since they were kind of expensive the big gifts weren't as big. This year the biggest prize was a $250 gift card. In past years it was as high as $500 plus 2 plane tickets anywhere. Plus they give away quite a few vacation days.

I never wear heels anymore and my feet are killing me today. I wish it was warm enough to wear flip flops!!

Matt's basketball team has lost both of their games so far but Matt is doing well. Hopefully they will win soon.

Have a great day!!

Hi Michele!!

Helle, everyone!! Well, the games are finally done for the weekend....Nathan's "Blue" team beat the "White" by quite a bit.

YourMajesty:: Yikes!! I hope you don't lose power!! Is the storm over by now? I guees that is the storm that is supposed to be headed this way!
I hope your back is better today. I'm still working on that laundry.:laundy:

Michele:: Hi, there, sweetie!! I was worrying about you!!
Sounds like you had quite a bit of entertainment at Blake's Christmas party!!
Cracked me up about Blake liking The Lion King cartoon better than the play!!! I'll bet the play was amazing!!

pozey:: Glad to hear you escaped the ice that YM got!! How did the swim meet go?

I think I may bake some ready-to-bake cookies. We just finished our fancy pizza dinner.

Hope you are all having a good evening!!:goodvibes

Good evening everyone!

I didn't get around to making the fudge today. Instead after Madison and her friend where done dunking their heads in the snow....yes I said dunking their heads in the snow, they wanted to see how much snow their hair could collect:confused3 they helped me make peppermint bark which we had a feast on when it was done. :rolleyes1

YM your poor tree! :scared1: I hope you can save it, it looks like it's a really pretty tree!

2x I made chicken noodle soup tonight too. I hope your family enjoyed it. Somehow chicken soup makes everything a little better. I hope grandma is doing o.k. tonight. So they have pumpkin massages for dogs? :lmao: Madison loves the closet, she thinks it's comfy in there. Maybe when it's time to sell my house I can list it as a 4 bedroom rather than a 3!?!?:upsidedow

Donna tell Nathan good job on winning!:cheer2:

DH didn't catch a pheasant! :dance3: However he said he wants to go again. :headache: Somehow I envision my golden years in a log cabin (that wouldn't be so bad) eating the mornings kill for dinner every night! :upsidedow

I'm a little sad, I have hunted everywhere for disney christmas cards and I can't find any anywhere. :guilty: I guess I'm going to have to go buy some generic card to send to everyone. :santa:

Lesa: We got freezing rain AND sleet. My driveway is a solid sheet of ice - I'm afraid to leave the house! My mom makes bacon in the microwave, she just puts it on a paper towel, puts the whole thing on a plate and zaps it. The kids like it that way and they only like crispy bacon, so it must be okay. I'm with you, I can't stand the smell of the stuff. Yummm, crispy strips of pig fat. :scared:

I don't like it cooked in the micro either, then it smells for weeks when I go to cook anything in it. It wasn't too bad in the oven, but we knew it was done when the smoke detector when off. :lmao: It came out crisp and it doesn't curl up. It still smelled awful though.

Hi Michele! I might be in the minority here, but I think that Christmas party sounds pretty fun. We don't have any kind of party, just an extra couple of $20s stuck into our paycheck in December. Most likely on the last workday of the month, which doesn't do any good for Christmas shopping. No party, lousy bonus... it's a miracle people don't quit left & right. However they very rarely fire anyone, and they routinely forget to mark down PTO as having been taken so I guess it evens out. Still, I miss having an office holiday party. Yeah they stink, but there's a certain something about it that you don't get otherwise.

Whew, the kids are in bed and it's finally quiet around here! They have been doing nothing but whining ALL DAY LONG. They whined through wrapping gifts, whined through making and decorating sugar cookies, whined through three meals, and whined about what to watch on tv. Both were sent to their room seperately, I just couldn't take it anymore! I didn't want to venture out on the ice and they were going stir-crazy being stuck in the house - all their snow gear is at my mom's house.

Guess I'm gonna go enjoy the quiet while it lasts!

Emma revised her Christmas list this afternoon. She wants a Dora movie, a digital camera, her own phone and her own computer. Uhhhh.... ok, ok, no way and NO FLIPPIN' WAY. In case she forgot, she is ONLY THREE!

At this rate, I'm afraid of what she'll be asking for once she hits the teen years. A flying car, perhaps? A helicopter?

Britt and I just finished making peppermint fudge. Neither of us wanted to wait for it to set, so we decided it wouldn't all fit in the pan. ;) I asked her if she thought we should make them thicker and put them in the smaller one, or thinner and put them in a larger one. She said the larger one because we will have more to eat that way. :lmao:

Can you all believe there is only 15 days till Christmas!!!:scared1: :santa:

My neighbor invited me to a faux purse party this week. Has anyone ever been to one? I've never heard a home faux purse party so I guess I'll have to go and check it out. :rolleyes1

Good evening!! Just thought I would check in after my little nap on the couch.
Nathan and I decided to watch "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", the JimCarrey version. I lasted afew minutes before I zonked and only remember seeing bits and pieces......gotta love Christmas movies!!!

Lesa:: Have you tried looking for Disney cards at some place like The Dollar Tree? I saw some there just this evening. I picked some up at Dollar General last year after Christmas.:santa:

I found a little something to help you out in your "Golden Years".....

0895261642.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

lyzziesmom:: I hope you are enjoying your whine-free evening!:cloud9:

I need to write a note to Nathan's teacher explaining that he won't be at school on the 17th. Gee....I've never done this before. Do you just say your taking a trip and he won't be there on the 17th?? :confused3

Hi everyone,

YM- Your poor tree!

Michele- Hi!!! It's nice to see you around!

Lyzziesmom- So Emma wants a computer, phone, and camera? :rotfl: Too funny!

Lesa- A faux purse party? I didn't know they existed. Have fun!

Donna- That's great Nathan's team won!!! I'm still so jealous of you going to WDW!

I might have to look for yet another seasonal job in addition to Yankee Candle. We're not doing very well, in the past few days I've worked, I've been sent home at least an hour early each time! And my manager had to cut everyone's hours this week because we're doing so bad. But the thing is, I'm only going to be here for a little over a month. Looks like I'll be picking up extra shifts once I start working at WDW.

Does anyone know if you can reserve only the hotel to airport part of ME and if you have to stay a certain number of days in order to use ME? My parents and I are going to stay at POP before check in day, maybe one or two days. I might not be able to take them back to the airport since I don't know what all I'll have to do those first few days.

:lmao: :rotfl2: David was sitting here when I was reading that and he asked what that had to do with me. Then he said, "did you put on the board I went hunting"? Who Me? :rolleyes1 I'd say you guys know more about us than our family, but our family reads this so I guess you know as much about us as they do! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I never thought to look at the dollar store for Disney cards. I'll have to try to get there tomorrow. I have some left over from last year, but I thought that would be tacky if I sent the same ones out again this year!;)

Nicole, sorry that the YK isn't going so well. It does seem that not as many people are out and shopping this year as in past years. I know when I was at the store this afternoon there was hardly anyone there.

For some reason when someone vacuums around here, they don't like to put the vacuum away, so it will sit in the living room for days or until I get tired of looking at it and do it myself. So I'm sitting here looking at it and someone decided to decorate it. Instead of putting it away, they put one of those giant red bows on the handle.

Um... are all your trees sideways?

As Emma would say: Treeeee, not s'posed to beeee sidewaaaa-aaaays.

Nope...she's right about that!

Matt's basketball team has lost both of their games so far but Matt is doing well. Hopefully they will win soon.

Have a great day!!

Hey Michele...nice to hear from you. My DS's team hasn't won yet. In fact, when he played against his good friend at school they got killed. DS was pretty grumpy after that game. :rolleyes1 Glad Matt is playing well...here's hoping for a win.:cheer2: How's Lilly?

YourMajesty!!! Oh My!!! You are getting it WAY worse than we are!!

No ice at my house!! Just a little rain and mist!!

Hey Pozey...I'm assuming by morning things will have gotten worse for you? You'll have to fill us in. No school for Owasso and Tulsa...but I haven't seen Broken Arrow come up.

Helle, everyone!! Well, the games are finally done for the weekend....Nathan's "Blue" team beat the "White" by quite a bit.

Yeah for Nathan's team!:cheer2: Were there any hard feelings?

The stupid storm isn't supposed to be over (completely over) until Tuesday. The ice is really starting to pile up around here. It's eerie to hear a limb break until the weight of the ice. Luckily, we still have power...we'll see in the morning.:sad2:

Donna... have you been watching the cooking channel again.:lmao:

Good evening everyone!

YM your poor tree! :scared1: I hope you can save it, it looks like it's a really pretty tree!

Lesa...I'm a little sad about my tree. It is very pretty but it needed to be trimmed...I'm sure that would have helped. It's a Houston Pride yaupon holly...very pretty with the red berries in the winter time. I'm sure when all the icing is over my yaupon holly will seem like a small loss. It didn't snap...it's just laying over so maybe it will surivive.

Your soup sounds very good. I think I will make some tomorrow. We ate out at lunch (fast food) and junk for dinner (cheese dip and chips). I just had a few oreos and now I'm having a coke.:scared1: My body is requesting, fruit, vegetables and some meat!

Yep, just send a note or call the school telling them Nathan will be out of town!:woohoo:

Hi everyone,

Nicole, I hope the business picks up at Yankee Candle so you don't need another job. :yay: I'm not sure about ME?

Hi everyone. :cool1:

I can't sleep again, so here I am!

Donna, that picture you posted is absolutely hilarious...:lmao:

Nicole, I know you can use ME one way if you want to. I'm sure they don't have a limit to how many days your staying to use it. If they want you to put info in for the returning flight then just make some flight info up :confused3 and use the real flight info for the time you want to use it. I know you can fill out of the form on Disney's website.

Lesa, peppermint bark sounds SO good! I want some now! :rolleyes1

Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday! We found a yummy place called the Fractured Prune (http://www.fracturedprune.com/) . Has anyone heard of it? Its a donut place that allows you to choose what glaze and toppings you want! The donuts are fresh and warm, it was SO GOOD! I got the hawaiian donut- pineapple glaze with coconut topping. Jeremiah got one, I can't remember the name, with honey glaze and dipped in cinnamon sugar. YUM! We got a half dozen to take home  Good thing the place is pretty far away- we would be packing on the pounds if it were closer  but we were only in the plaza to get some rechargeable batteries and a memory card from MicroCenter!

Good Morning all!

It's cold and icy today. Although we didn't get anything like some of you.

Blake is flying to Philadelphia today for some meetings. He'll be home Wed night.

You guys should see Lilly. She is crawling everywhere as fast as she can. Which is pretty fast on the rug, but once she hits the wood floors she starts slipping a little. She is also pulling herself up on the furniture and cruising the living room that way. For the first time yesterday she discovered the shelves in the living room with the DVD's and CD's on it. She proceeded to very carefully empty every shelf she could reach. She was so proud of herself.

Have a great day and Happy Monday!:confused3

Good morning!!:sunny:

Well,it's just raining here right now. Gary isn't driving in to work today, because the ice storm looks like it's headed towards St. Louis. We appear to be East and South of the track of the the storm. I want all you guys to be careful if you have to get out in this stuff!!

Michele:: AWE!!! Miss Lilly is discovering her mobility!!! That is just so awesome!! I remember having new carpeting installed in the family room right before Nathan's first birthday; that's when my doll collection got packed away!!

Ashley:: Sorry you couldn't sleep.
Those donuts sound delicious!! I've never heard of the Fractured Prune, but it sounds like my kind of place!!!:woohoo:

YourMajesty:: I hope your Holly tree survives the ice!! It looks like an absolutley gorgeous tree!!
Are you making fun of me and my fancy cookin'??
4.gif

Nicole:: I believe you can use ME either way, as long as you stay at a Disney resort. Like Asley said, on the website it think you can check if you want arriving, returning ME or both.
Soyy things are so slow at Yankee Candle this year.

I made a batch of cinnamon rolls this morning, just for you guys!!

I hope you all have a Magical Monday!!:wizard:

Emma revised her Christmas list this afternoon. She wants a Dora movie, a digital camera, her own phone and her own computer. Uhhhh.... ok, ok, no way and NO FLIPPIN' WAY. In case she forgot, she is ONLY THREE!

At this rate, I'm afraid of what she'll be asking for once she hits the teen years. A flying car, perhaps? A helicopter?

My brother (10) wrote his Christmas list last week. It had: a 42" flat screen TV, an ipod nano, and xbox 360 elite (mind you, he already has a 360), a video game, and some clothes. He actually wrote that he knows he might be pushing it, but would really like these things. Gee, ya think?

I talked to him and he said he realized he wouldn't get everything on the list, but it didn't hurt to ask.

Nicole, hopefully things pick up at YC. If not, I hope you are able to find something fast. :wizard:

Michele, glad to hear from you.

Everyone be careful with that ice! We had an ice storm several years ago. I had to drive home in it and it was horrible. I did fine until I was on my road, then I got stuck. Luckily, Mike was able to get me out, because later a tree fell in the EXACT spot my car was sitting.

My stepmother ordered the furniture this weekend. It should be here next week. However, I forgot to remind her about the mattress.

Hope everyone is doing well! Have a great day!

Good morning, all - a brief check-in... I've been reading, but just haven't had anything to say, i guess.

it's cold, it's thick icy and I woke at 5:30 this morning to the constant sound of trees cracking and falling - sounded like shotguns or fireworks going off around the house, just constantly. The neighbors have (had) a huge weeping willow that is now covering their and our front yard. Our pear tree in our back yard is gone, and our big (35-40 feet or so) oak is drooping pretty good. We live in a neighborhood where some of the homes are 20 years old or so, so there's a lot of mature trees. In the older section everybody has got trees down. Never seen anything like it. It was still pretty dark when I came in, but I brought my camera. We still have power but the main intersection near us is completely out. Didn't seem as bad here in town.

YM, I saw that you lost your little tree yesterday! So sorry! Hope you're still faring OK this morning, it got a whole lot worse over night.

Pozey - how're things in your side of town? BA got hit pretty hard overnight.

Lyzziesmom - praying for patience for you, dear. Are you going in to work today?

2X - how's St. Louis? You guys get it bad up there, too?

Donna, Michele, Lesa, Linda - everybody OK?

Ashley, I got your PM - thanks!!

Amber - yay for a good checkup from the doc!

Lin - how'd the show go?

Nicole - sorry to hear you're not getting the hours you need. Just think - you'll be leaving soon!

Shannon - I'm just a wee bit envious of you right now, living in Florida and all! ;)

omg...I missed so much!! I'll reply more but DONNA!!!!! whoo hoo!!!! we fly in to MCO Friday evening:cool1: I'd love to get together, if you guys are up to it:woohoo: I'll send ya a pm ;)

Ashley..that is SO sweet of Jeremiah w/your ring:cloud9:

YM!!!! Omg I'm so excited for you. Glad the old boss is gone:woohoo: :cool1: be careful w/that ice:eek: sorry about your poor tree! I hate ice storms. They had a huge ice storm when I was working in VT...I couldn't believe the damage:scared: have fun getting ready, I spent most of the weekend packing:yay:

Michele... Lilly is cruising:banana: I love that!! too cute! You'll have to post some pics when you can. I can imagine that cute little face... "look at me"... cool, see what I just did:cloud9: too sweet!!

ok..I'll have to catch up more later. Hope everyone had a great weekend! Hope everyone has a terrific day!

Oh lordy lordy lordy... it must be a Monday. Emma woke up screaming this morning that her leg hurts and my mom just called to say she still won't walk on it. It was fine when she went to bed last night? :confused3 Then I got to work expecting some peace & quiet but since it's nearly lunchtime and this is my first chance to hop on here, obviously that didn't happen. Now to catch up -- forgive me if I miss anyone, I'm working quickly and with many interruptions.

Lesa: What on earth is a faux purse party? Is it faux purses or a faux party? I guess I'm not getting the "faux" part.

Donna: I usually just email the teacher to make sure she gets the message, but if Nathan is a reliable deliveryman then a note should be fine. I usually say something like: "Dear Miss Teacher, Lyzzie will be out of town on Monday and will be absent from school. Please let me know if there is any work she needs to complete before she returns. Thank you." Easy peasy! I can't believe you've never had to write a note for him before!! :teacher:

Nicole: Good luck with the job situation. Can you ask for extra shifts at YC? I'm pretty sure you can take ME one way, I'm sure there's lots of info on the Transportation Board. I'd look it up for you, but I'm pressed for time right now.

Instead of putting it away, they put one of those giant red bows on the handle.

If you can't clean it... decorate it!

Dang, I just saw Disney cards somewhere and now I can't remember where. I was going to look at some and then remembered I have 3 boxes of cards sitting at home -- and I only send to you guys so that's several years' worth.

The stupid storm isn't supposed to be over (completely over) until Tuesday. The ice is really starting to pile up around here. It's eerie to hear a limb break until the weight of the ice. Luckily, we still have power...we'll see in the morning.:sad2:

Not sure if it's the same storm, but we're due for a big ice storm coming this evening, that's on top of all the Frz Drizzle we had over the weekend. We are under all sorts of warnings, watches and advisories.

Ashley: That donut place sounds awesome! I am so hungry right now and that's NOT helping.

Michele: Pics of Lilly cruising, please.

Amber: Good thing you got your car out of the way, how scary! I hope the new furniture comes without incident. And yeah... don't forget the mattress, it's kind of important!

it's cold, it's thick icy and I woke at 5:30 this morning to the constant sound of trees cracking and falling - sounded like shotguns or fireworks going off around the house, just constantly.

Lyzziesmom - praying for patience for you, dear. Are you going in to work today?

My first winter here was a real eye-opener -- January brought a big ice storm and I had no idea it would be so NOISY. Luckily I had a friend in FL who was from Cleveland and he explained to me that there was not rioting in the streets, it was just branches breaking and power transformers (or something) sparking. Scared the heck out of me! Oh yes, I'm at work today. In fact I sent my boss (who works in the Chicago area and is more used to icky weather than we Kansans are) an email this morning just as an FYI about the ice storm. I copied the ice storm watch from the weatherchannel.com website, complete with the part that says travel may become impossible and is strongly discouraged, and commerce will be severely impacted. Her reply?
"I did see the nasty weather report! We do have our standard weather policy for all our offices that I don’t expect them to waiver from. We remain open!" :thumbsup2 not a thumb
