Oh lordy lordy lordy... it must be a Monday. Emma woke up screaming this morning that her leg hurts and my mom just called to say she still won't walk on it. It was fine when she went to bed last night?

Then I got to work expecting some peace & quiet but since it's nearly lunchtime and this is my first chance to hop on here, obviously that didn't happen. Now to catch up -- forgive me if I miss anyone, I'm working quickly and with many interruptions.
Lesa: What on earth is a faux purse party? Is it faux purses or a faux party? I guess I'm not getting the "faux" part.
Donna: I usually just email the teacher to make sure she gets the message, but if Nathan is a reliable deliveryman then a note should be fine. I usually say something like: "Dear Miss Teacher, Lyzzie will be out of town on Monday and will be absent from school. Please let me know if there is any work she needs to complete before she returns. Thank you." Easy peasy! I can't believe you've never had to write a note for him before!!
Nicole: Good luck with the job situation. Can you ask for extra shifts at YC? I'm pretty sure you can take ME one way, I'm sure there's lots of info on the Transportation Board. I'd look it up for you, but I'm pressed for time right now.
Instead of putting it away, they put one of those giant red bows on the handle.
If you can't clean it... decorate it!
Dang, I just saw Disney cards somewhere and now I can't remember where. I was going to look at some and then remembered I have 3 boxes of cards sitting at home -- and I only send to you guys so that's several years' worth.
The stupid storm isn't supposed to be over (completely over) until Tuesday. The ice is really starting to pile up around here. It's eerie to hear a limb break until the weight of the ice. Luckily, we still have power...we'll see in the morning.
Not sure if it's the same storm, but we're due for a big ice storm coming this evening, that's on top of all the Frz Drizzle we had over the weekend. We are under all sorts of warnings, watches and advisories.
Ashley: That donut place sounds awesome! I am so hungry right now and that's NOT helping.
Michele: Pics of Lilly cruising, please.
Amber: Good thing you got your car out of the way, how scary! I hope the new furniture comes without incident. And yeah... don't forget the mattress, it's kind of important!
it's cold, it's thick icy and I woke at 5:30 this morning to the constant sound of trees cracking and falling - sounded like shotguns or fireworks going off around the house, just constantly.
Lyzziesmom - praying for patience for you, dear. Are you going in to work today?
My first winter here was a real eye-opener -- January brought a big ice storm and I had no idea it would be so NOISY. Luckily I had a friend in FL who was from Cleveland and he explained to me that there was not rioting in the streets, it was just branches breaking and power transformers (or something) sparking. Scared the heck out of me! Oh yes, I'm at work today. In fact I sent my boss (who works in the Chicago area and is more used to icky weather than we Kansans are) an email this morning just as an FYI about the ice storm. I copied the ice storm watch from the weatherchannel.com website, complete with the part that says travel may become impossible and is strongly discouraged, and commerce will be severely impacted. Her reply?
"I did see the nasty weather report! We do have our standard weather policy for all our offices that I dont expect them to waiver from. We remain open!"
