With all this talk of cruises, I just have to share my cruise story.....

My DW and I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise some time back - before we had kids. Anyway, on the first night at dinner, our server came around asking what everyone at our table wanted for dessert.

So, everyone orders a dessert and he brings them out. Well, DW asks the server if she could try one of the other desserts that someone else got that was different than what she ordered. He says sure and brings her out a 2nd dessert.

Fast forward to the 2nd night at dinner. Our waiter (same waiter every night) comes to the table and takes dessert orders. However, he does not ask DW what she wants for dessert. She looks at me and says "he didn't take my dessert order".

So the waiter brings out the desserts. He gives everyone at the table the dessert they ordered. Then he proceeds to give DW EVERY dessert on the menu. :cool1:

He then did the same thing every night during the cruise. Never even took her dessert order. He just brought her one of everything.

Now that I think about it........I think our waiter had the hots for DW.

We went for years with the crowds like that. We'd go ahead and pull DD out of school, bring along her weeks' assignments and homework, and off we'd go. Unfortunately, the High School only allows 7 absences per semester or it's an automatic fail, so if we go on vacation, that doesn't leave her any room for any kind of illness days off. Plus, it's just too hard on her to take her out of HS because of the daily lessons/work. I long for the days of off-season again, but our kids get out early enough here that we can still beat much of the rest of the country. This past trip our cruise was May 28 - 31, and we were at WDW for June 1 - 6. We got to go to the Flower and Garden festival, which we hadn't been to before, and to Star Wars Weekends, another first. We really enjoyed both! DD, a closet geek, really enjoyed SWW, and can't wait to go again next year.

Michele - sorry to hear of DH's delay, but glad to hear he's on his way home to you! pixiedust:

Crowds like that... :worship: :worship: :worship: You've got more patience than me!!! I've got A LOT... but not for that :) I don't even Christmas shop in Dec. b/c the crowds and weather... they get so rude when it's packed like that :sad2: I took my cousin on a cruise end of May 03' it was great!! She got out of school a week early. Her teachers just let her take her exams before we left :woohoo: that was so awesome!!! HS would be tough to take them out like that... darn it! Thankfully I've got awhile since Kenny is just going into Kindergarten.. can't wait to see their leave policies..can't be too bad. I called last year about taking a cruise this fall/winter to see how they were about taking them out and they said at that age...they really didn't care! I'm not sure if that is good or not... but he'll love it pirate: !!

Just called Mike and told him we're having filet tomorrow night :thumbsup2 !!!

Now that is the kind of waiter I like :thumbsup2 did you like the cruise? I've only cruised on DCL... Was there very much for the kids? Was the food good? Disney is a lot like that... waiters are awesome like that... I love creme brulee  so they'd bring me one every night!!! Or I'd take it back to the cabin w/me :woohoo: Kenny would always take a dessert w/him too. Too full to eat it all at once!!!

Linda, you beat me to it! As soon as I saw DznyFan's crowd photo (holy body odor, Batman!) I immediately thought of this one:
DisneyWorld098.jpg

That was the most crowds we saw all day, last September. I swear, to look at my photos, you'd think we were the only people there.

2xited - girlfriend, you are TOO MUCH!! I always say, it's fine to talk to yourself, it's when you start answering that you should worry.

Michele - I hope Blake gets home ok. I imagine we won't see you on here for a while, then? (wink, wink!) That Peanut story is too cute!!

Wow, TWO breakfasts today? Thanks ladies, I am stuffed!!

Hardly. I was just a wee bit stressed out that afternoon. Borderline homicidal. Somewhat reminiscent of going to WalMart on a Saturday afternoon.

mmmm.... It's one of my faves, too. I make creme brulee, I learned to because I love it so much - I'll send you some virtually next time I get the urge to be that motivated in the kitchen.

DznyFan... I had to learn to make it to :cloud9: got the torch and all!!! Yummm and it's now Kennys favorite too! He always asks for it. I just wish it lasted longer. The ones I buy say it has to be eaten w/in 24 hrs!!! I love it..but I can't eat 6 servings in 24 hrs!!! I would have to buy a new wardrobe!

Linda, have you tried making chocolate creme brulee? I add 3 oz of dark semisweet chocolate in to the cream when it is heating up - oh, yum....
We were competing in the American Royal BBQ comp 2 years ago, and I entered it into the dessert category - it got 14th out of over 400 entries. I lost my presentation tray and 8 of my ramekins that day, but it was worth it, I guess.

Lyzziesmom- I love that missing tooth!

Dznyfan- Those are cute pictures!

Linda- A trip to Florida without WDW! I think you'll have to make a stop!

DznyFan...I haven't tried that ...but I WILL NOW  What an incredible picture too! that is awesome.. Ohhh I bet that is good!

Nicole you're right I can't be that close and not go!! Thankfully he is as big of a disney nut as I am..and that's scary!!! He looked it up and he's telling me...it's only 88 miles from wdw... just a little further than you drive here everyday :rotfl: I love it!!! Plus a paid trip is always nice!!! Now if I can make a week of it...visit some other offices in FL while there :rolleyes1 I wanna ride RNR!!! and EE!!!

You guys are making me hungry again today. I just discovered creme brulee last year at WDW... yummy! I can't believe I missed this stuff for 30 years!!

Linda, definitely go to WDW while you're there. I mean, you'll be right there! How could you NOT go?? Wait a minute, weren't you going to get back to work like an hour ago?

Speaking of work... HAPPY FRIDAY!!

 :dancer: party: :jumping1: party: :dancer:

 Mmmmmm....That was GOOD wasn't it?? I/we just had some on our vacation and it was far from comparable with DCL's for sure! I told my parents all about it 5 times over and the stuff we had was not even close to being as good as on the Disney Cruise ! I think they thought I was a freak getting so excited about a little stinkin' dessert! They just have no idea!!

I've never had creme brulee. What is it like? I want to try it on our next trip.

I just finished reading a thread on why Disney should or shouldn't have bilingual princesses. That took all morning. Yes, it's Friday, my boss is on vacation and I am doing next to nothing! :woohoo:

I am also trying to read TGM. I am an over obsessive planner and even though I have several months, I don't feel like I have enough time to plan. Sad thing is, I've been planning since LAST April.

I also want to know what Creme Brulee tastes like. Is it like custard?

I also read some of the Bilingual Princess thread! :scared1:

OK all,
Join with me now as I do the Happy Dance!!! :dance3:

I lost a total of 5.2 pounds at weigh in this morning!! :cheer2: I was so happy I could have cried. In fact I did get teary because it was no small feat with trying to declutter, priming the shed and meeting with realtors and painters and carpet people. I was feeling like a failure earlier because there were two days where I went over what I was allowed and had even thought of quitting (because I just knew I wasn't doing good) but I have pre-paid for my meetings for times just like this when I feel like quitting. Imagine my surprise when she said a loss of -5.2!!

DznyFan- Wow! Those are some crowds. I was only there once when it was like that. I always say never again but it was worth doing once for the experience. When I was younger (I used to live with my aunt) and every December we would go to Florida for 2 weeks. The first week we spent at WDW and the second week which was Christmas to New Year's we stayed w/ my granparents in Ft. Myers. Well in 1990 Florida had a freak cold spell and it was freezing!! They even had snow in parts of Florida it was that cold. We decided it was way to cold to stay there so we packed up and went down to Nana and Gramps'. On the second week we came back up to Disney and boy was it CROWDED! We went to Magic Kingdom on New Year's eve but it was wall to wall :crowded: people like your picture of MGM. We headed over to Epcot where it was still very crowded but not as bad as MK. We watched the fireworks at midnight and it was awesome. Great experience but I don't need a repeat. Once was good.
What a cute display. And 14th out of 400?!!? You Go Girl!! :cool1: That's very impressive!

Michele-hoping to hear good news that your DH has made it home! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!

Lyzziesmom- I got a DING this morning for $39 from Philly to Orlando I was soooo tempted to buy but with our house getting ready to go on the market I just couldn't bring myself to do it because I just don't know. It was for in September which is when I really want to go and your picture just reinforces that want. Cute picture by the way. She's a doll. I've been in December(which is when we ALWAYS  go and I'm ready for a change), end of Maybeginningof June, June and August.

Linda- you lucky girl. Business and pleasure. And how fabu is it that your boss totally understands your passion for Disney? Go, Go, Go, Go :cheer2: I'll cheer you on into anything Disney. ;)

Wonder where Dolphinrescuegirl has been? Was she scheduled to go out of town? Wonder how she's feeling?

Nicole- For sure about Alex. I hate talking bad about Disney CMs because they are such hard workers but this guy was just plain bad. :rotfl: But the food is delicious and like Michele said they are very reasonably priced and like I said (and I'm saying again) the food is soooo good and they have an excellent variety and it's got a good atmosphere. I'd love to go back but I'm a bit gun shy as you can imagine. I mean, what could we do if when we were seated our luck brought us Alex again? Any suggestions? What would you guys do if you had received bad service from the same server twice and if you went back a third time got him again? I mean part of me thinks, "What's the chances?" But then I thought that this last time too.

Cute story pozey. Now that's an example of an excellent waiter. :thumbsup2

Hi Grendalynn! Welcome to the Cliquless Chicas and the Man crew!

Isn't it great when the boss is away? Here, I'll woohoo with ya! :woohoo:
I'm the exact same way when it comes to planning. I am absolutely an excessive planner. I've had people tell me I should be a travel agent/consultant but that's not for me. I like planning for myself and DH and our group if we're in one but I don't want to do it for someone else. Then, they'd not like it and be upset with me. No thanks. But I am definately an obsessive planner!

Hey Ashley, hope you're having a great time in Florida! Wish I was there with ya'! Oh, to live in Florida. That is my dream. That and being a Disney Imagineer. :teeth:

Hi 2X2S (2xcited2slp). You don't mind if I shorten it do you? :p Hope you're having a great day at work.

oh boy...you guys have to try creme brulee!!! It is like a custard... but you put these sugar crystals on top and use a torch on it to melt it..and it hardens into a "shell" like a crust...it is soooo delicious!!! And extremely easy to make!!

Grendalynn... welcome to the club :) Nothing like a good creme brulee on board DCL :woohoo: !!! I understand what ur talkin about!

I used TGM and glad I did.. even though I've been there a few times..it was worth it. I'm an obsessive planner too!

Big Boss is out today..can you tell ?? :rolleyes1

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Way to go April!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: We're cheering you on!!! :woohoo:
