Who here is not in the "clique" like me?

Nicole...I was wanting to respond before I went to lunch but ran out of time... I don't blame you for not wanting to go. My stepson is getting married Aug. 19th... My ds and I are both in the wedding and I do NOT want to go to any bachelorette party either. I've been in several weddings and always managed to get out of the bachelorette parties :) I just always make BIG plans that I absolutely can't get out of for that same time :)!!!

Have a good one all :)

Oh little maidies--come out, come out wherever you are.
I can tell you for sure that they're not at my house!

DznyFan--glad you're feeling better today. I would still take it easy though, for a bit. I'm not sure when I got my PhD, but it sounds good. Kudos for DD.
You got an honorary PhD, the same one I've got - it's the one you get when you have kids - I think a requisite for having children is earning your amateur PhD in medicine!

My coworker invited me to her friends bachelorette party. I don't really want to go. It is supposed to get pretty wild KWIM! I don't know anyone except my coworker. I am very shy around people I don't know, so I'm sure I'll look like a dork to everyone. Also they all speak spanish (I'm not sure if they will there or not) and I don't so I will look even more like a dork. What should I do? Should I go or decline? If I do decline how do I do it nicely? I'm actually surprised (and flattered) that she invited me!
I agree with what 2exicted and Ashley - thank her graciously, and decline graciously. I can relate to not wanting to go, and feeling uncomfortable if you do. Plus, since it's for a friend of a co-worker, it should be easier to get out of - you're less obligated to have to go.

Man - what a day - I was eating a granola bar for breakfast this morning, and I lost part of a tooth - I can't get in to have it looked at until next Wednesday a.m. - it's an old root-canal tooth that I lost the crown on a little while back! I was waiting to get the crown replaced! At least it's just a little piece, but it's bugging me and got me all stressed out! :( I'm afraid to eat! Not that I couldn't stand to miss a meal or two...

oh man DznyFan... our dentist leaves a few hrs a day for emergencies like that. I wouldn't want to eat either. Hope you get in sooner than next Wed.!!! maybe they'll have a cancellation?

yeah...I think you get the honorary PhD w/the little ones too :)

my ds5 kills me...he'll get hurt and he'll be ok until he sees ME...then the tears start rolling and it is suddenly much worse and he wants the tlc from mom :)

I forgot DznyFan...are you using your dvc points for your cruise? that would be great!!! do you like the dvc? we've thought about it...but I'd love to just buy a vacation rental close to wdw and go whenever I want... decisions decisions :) Hope your day gets better!!!

Lyzziesmom...are you ready to start packing yet?:)

Nicole: I always have a hard time declining people when I don't want to go somewhere! What did you say when she asked you? Just tell her you and your boyfriend have some plans, or lie and say your boyfriend wouldn't like it (if there is gonna be a stripper :bitelip: or something) . If you already said you'd go and still dont want to, say your sorry you forgot you had some prior plans. ???? tell us how it goes. It is flattering to be asked, but if you don't know the person the party is being given to, I don't see the point in going.

Me too! I feel bad when I decline and then think they'll hate me forever! There is going to be a stripper! I said that I didn't know anyone and then she said "Well I don't know the stripper!" Well that's a little different! I know no one! Last year I went to a bridal shower for a friend of DBF and mine (well more his friend than mine) and I didn't know anyone except the bride and her mom and I just sat there the whole time! I wish I could be more outgoing.

Dznyfan- I'm so sorry about your tooth! My sister chipped her tooth a few weeks ago. Someone bumped into her and the glass bottle she was drinking from chipped her tooth! But she got it fixed last week and it looks good!

Nicole... I use to be like that big time.. always worried about what other people thought. Boy have I changed :) Now I think...when they start paying my bills, then they can have a say in my life. Everyone has an opinion and everyone knows from being on the CB.... peoples opinions are ALL over the board!!! You do things for YOU, and nobody else. I no longer make decisions based on if someone will get mad, but on what I want! I always tried to please other people and you know what...all they do is walk all over you. I refuse to be anyones doormat any longer. Not that your friend is being like that at all.... just don't want you to waste precious time worrying like I did :) Ok...I feel much better now :)...

:wave2: bye I'm headed out for my long commute home!!

DznyFan...Hope your tooth isn't bothering you too badly pixiedust:

dolphinrescuegirl...hope you made it ok today and had a great first day at your new job :grouphug:

dh says his job will be on dirty jobs tonight... he was what they call a "tankrat" ... they repair fuel tanks in the aircraft... for the air force of coarse... and he pretty much has just taught the younger guys for the past several years.... crawling around in the airplane wings... tight places and have to have special suits on... NO thank you!!!

Have a good one :wave2: I'm headed out for my long commute home!!

I don't think I'll be going to that bachelorette party with my coworker. It's in Mexico! She asked me again and I said that I wouldn't know anyone. Then I found out where it was! I thought it was here in Houston! I told her I didn't think I could go. If I were to go I would need about $200 or more. Plus it's in 2 weeks. I need to save my money for WDW and LV.

Linda,
You are so right! I'm always afraid of what people think of me. I'm slowly starting to change though. I'm starting to learn that I can't please everyone. I will take your advice to heart!

Hello!!! Have been home from work for awhile.Did dishes(the ones that don't fit in DW) and sorted laundry!! I'm onload #2 now!! When you guys find those darn little fairy maidies ,PLEASE send them my way!! :wizard:

April:: good luck with WW. I am a Lifetime member. If you stick with it you will lose the weight. I highly recommend them because WW trains you how to eat for life...like a REAL person!!(Does that make sense?) After DS was born I put on about 30lbs. Have just recently lost about 10 of it and would like to lose the rest. I just got tired of the way I looked, plus I am like the oldest mother in DS class. Most of the other moms are so young and thin I felt really self-concsious about the weight. (Not much I can do about the age!!) Anyway enough about me--hang in there, we know you can do it!!

Tinkerbell-Girl:: I think you have already made your decision about the party!! Don't think I would feel comfortable going either!!

Lyzziesmom:: How is everything on the HOME front?? How big is the yard? Won't the girls have fun!!??

Dolphinrescuegirl:: Thinking about you and the job. Hope all went well!! :sunny:

LindaK:: You drive about as far as my DH does, poor thing!! He does get to work from home about 2 days a week now, that helps. Doesn't do much for the vehicles does it? Drive safely! :sunny:

2xcited:: Don't talk that much in real life?? I bet you do with your good friends!!! :chat: Enjoy your day a work.

DznyFan:: Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. I've been having trouble with sinuses/allergies. The humid weather plays havoc on mine. When is DD leaving? What a cool thing for her to do--sounds like you raised her right!!!

I don't mean to leave anyone out, this post is gonna be as long as 2xcited2slp's and I'll never live it down!!! :wave2:

Hi all. Thanks for all the pixiedust: I think it really worked!! Except for feeling kinda bad I actually love the job! My co-worker is really nice and we sit around and talk a lot which makes the job so by fast. I'm not so sure about the boss lady as I get funky vibes off her but I dont really see her a lot. I will work with her a little but mainly with my co-worker. As an awesome afternoon surprise my DH stopped by the office to see how I was doing. It's nice knowing he's only about a 7 min walk away. He says occasionally he will stop by and we can have lunch together sometimes. I'm really gonna like this job I think. And on Fridays we can wear jeans!! So excited. Thanks to everyone for the hugs and kind words. Made my day go that much better!

Dolphinresuegirl:: I'm so happy to hear you had a good day at work!!! :) I knew you could do it!!! :thumbsup2

Hello kiddies--

I got home a little while ago from work. As much as I love my job, there are certain parts that I hate and right now I'm not too fond of it. I don't even have the energy to try to explain what is going on there right now. Anyone have any ideas of how I can be independently wealthy?? Because right now I cannot fathom the idea of going tomorrow. But, I must. I hate the politics of the workplace.

Ash--I am glad that Ruby flies in the cabin with you. I have a story but I will not share here. PM me if you want to hear it----its not pretty.

DznyFan---ouch, sorry to hear about your tooth. :guilty: I do not like going to the dentist and my mom works for one. I still don't like it. I hope you can get it fixed sooner. Are you in pain?? I would keep calling for cancellations.

:badpc: :badpc:

I wasn't finished. How dare this machine. Of course, it could not have been something I did.

I could say I was splitting my posts into two so it would be easier for some people to read. You know who you are. :teeth: :teeth:

This is excellent advice!!!!! I used to worry alot more when I was younger. Now, after many years of being walked all over, I have learned to say no and if they don't like it, oh well. You said this beautifully, Linda!!

Nicole--oh my goodness, I cannot believe she didn't tell you about this little "formality" when she first asked you. Mexico?? okay. It would be completely different if she was a good friend or family, but a co-worker, not so much.

I'm starting to get a complex. :teeth:

DolphinGirl---- :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We had all the confidence in you!!! So glad it went well for you today. Maybe the boss lady will just have to grow on you. I am sure you will get used to her ways. How fun it is to work that close to your DH. It was sweet of him to check in to see how you were. Have another good day tomorrow.

I need to go to sleep now. Early day at work tomorrow. Can't wait. Yay. Yippee. Do ..........I ............. have...............to ........go?? Mommy.

 I'm acutally the first to post for today...although I haven't been to bed yet...I think I'm the only one still up. :teeth: :teeth: I didn't get a chance to post as I had a long day. My boys had dentist appts, we had our house sprayed for pest control, I had a spa pedicure :thumbsup2 , and worked on a Lego SpongeBob for two hours tonight. We also have a friend over.... :faint: I'll catch back up tomorrow...but just so you know I really did the Lego project....here you go....

YourMajesty::The Lego Spongebob is awesome. I will have to show this to DS7!!! Was this a kit that you can buy or what? It really is neat. :thumbsup2

2xcited2slp:: Sounds like work is getting a little stressful. I don't have any insight into becoming independently wealthy short of winning the Lottery, sorry.(insert empty pocket smilie here) Jeepers I hope I'm not the one giving you a complex. I'm just teasing and I should stop that. I understand there are a lot of post to catch up with every evening!!! :chat: :chat: :chat:

I'm drinking my coffee out of my Haunted Mansion mug and thinking... 3 more work days, 3 more work days... :cheer2:

Have a great day everyone!!!TTFN

Nicole, you've got that exactly right...we can never please everyone! EVER.... Life is far too short, do what makes you happy!!!

Donna... wow, I'd love to work from home even 2 days a week. The wear and tear on our cars..and the price of gas :furious: ....I need one of these :moped: ... Oh well.... maybe I can start nursing school next year or so and get a decent job close to home, or talk dh into moving closer to my job...or better yet, talk my boss into letting me work from home!! I like what I do, pays pretty good too...but the hours and money it takes to commute gets so old!! Oh well....I'm so excited for you 3 MORE DAYS  :cheer2:  !!! I'd be all packed and ready to boogy!! Do you have everything all set and ready? Your ADR's... Ohana and Le Cellier sound so good to me about now  !!

dolphinrescuegirl.... so glad you did ok on your first day :grouphug: We were thinking about you and sending you some pixydust :)!! Sounds like it will also be really nice to have dh not too far away! It would be great to have dh around to go to lunch w/sometimes :) Sounds like your new co-worker is nice and fun to work with. Hopefully the boss will be ok to work with as well.

I am still dancing around like crazy all excited :cool1: :cheer2:  :cheer2: our boss is out of town this week :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: !!! Everyone is so happy!! It's always like walking around on pins and needles to see when he explodes like a volcano next! It's crazy!! It is so sad...if they think you need your job..they treat you like DIRT but if they don't think you HAVE to be here... then it's a total different story. Thankfully I'm one of the few that could tell them to shove it! They're pretty decent to me for the most part... could be better... could be a lot worse...

2xcited2slp...hey how are ya doin'? thanks so much for the compliment...I think I'm a horrible writer...but I guess I'm just getting more blunt the older I get :)... must get that from being around dh and his many years in the military. If I win the lottery...I'll share w/you :thumbsup2

YourMajesty...how did you do that??? Spongebob is so adorable!! My ds5 would love that!! He wanted a bunch of stuff at LegoLand at DTD but that child has SOOOOO many toys in the house already I would have gotten a foot up my butt from DH if I would have bought any!! Now if ds sees something he wants he asks if he can have it for Christmas or his Birthday :) He is such a sweetheart!!!

Have a great day :grouphug:

Good morning!

Ugh... It is so nasty and rainy here this morning. It's been raining all night. I hope it clears up.

Your Majesty- The lego Spongebob is too cute!

2xcited- I can't believe she did that either. But at least now I can really say I can't go. Like I said earlier, WDW and LV are much more important to me right now.

Good Morning!

Dolphinrescuegirl - I'm so glad to hear work went well for you! Hoping for another good day today. It's great to hear you got on so well with your co-worker.

Nicole - MEXICO??? At least you were able to get out of it. She was understanding, I hope. Sorry it's raining down there - I saw the weather this morning, and it looks nasty down there.

YourMajesty - love the Spongebob! That was too cool.

2xcited - now I KNOW it had to have been your computer that split up those posts! It's a conspiracy. I agree with Donna and Linda about the lottery - I know it's the only way I'll ever be independently wealthy. We should all just start a lottery pool! Share the love.

Donna - lucky, lucky you... 3 days. I'm envious!
Have a filet at LeCellier for me, will you?

LindaK - I was going to try and catch 'Dirty Jobs' last night, but we wound up not home. Had dinner out then had to go to FedEx to pick up a package - it was DISNEY DOLLARS for a DVC referal. yea!!! Now DH talking about going for a long weekend in October!

I appreciate the tooth pixie dust - between the cold and that it hasn't been my week. It's not hurting, since it's had a root canal. And the chip feels BIG but I know it's not. I was able to eat, but I'm being really careful. I think I'll live till Wednesday.
Got a call from DD in the Miss. gulf coast last night - she said it's hot, humid, she's getting eaten up by mosquitoes despite bug repellant, they're sleeping in tents w/ no electricity and the showers are cold. But, she says, other than that she's having a good time. They're working those kids hard down there. Helping people is her 'cup of tea' so to speak, so she's in her element. I have a suspicion she'll be ready to come home Saturday, though!

Work beckons - don't know why they would expect me to work??? Geez.

dolphinrescuegirl - Glad your 1st day on your new job went well. It always helps to have co-workers you enjoy being around.

YourMajesty - your SpongeBob Lego thing is really cool!! :thumbsup2

Our department here at work is having our monthly birthday lunch. We go to lunch as a department each month to celebrate that month's birthday people. We are going to a place called Mimi's Cafe. I've never been there, so I'm not sure what to expect.

My DS(10) had one of his baby teeth come out this morning. Pretty much just fell out of his mouth. Now I have to make sure the Tooth Fairy comes to visit tonight. :rolleyes1

Pozey...don't forget the tooth fairy...don't forget the tooth fairy...don't forget the tooth fairy :teeth: pixiedust: sh5 can't wait until he looses a tooth :)

Dznyfan... :woohoo: Disney Dollars!! That is always a nice surprise I'm sure!! A long weekend sounds GREAT anytime!!! Be careful w/that tooth. I had a root canal too and they're no fun. I got fluid on the bone a few years later and they had to retreat it!! I thought they'd need to get a new crown but they didn't...he drilled right through it and filled it like a regular tooth!! That was just a month ago or so...the fluid still hasn't gone away yet!!! Hope your visit is much easier than mine! I'm sure dinner out was much better than watching tv!

We did watch Dirty jobs last night. It was really cool. I've seen and been on the aircraft he works on and teaches the guys on... he worked on C130's... of coarse I knew they were called Tankrats :)... and he had to crawl into TINY spaces to work in the fuel tanks... it was pretty cool. On C130's there is a lot of foam that they have to take out and put back when they're done...guess it's like trying to put a puzzle together. I'm glad it was him and not me... wearing those suits and the masks and all... yuck!

back to work :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Good morning everyone.

I'm about to go insane...I hate sleepovers...it's like having babies again for the amount of sleep you get. :rolleyes1

We bought the SpongeBob at Walmart for the bargain price of 29.98...DS (6) bought it with his own money. It's not the only set...there's more. :woohoo:  We then put it together...he needed some help (ages 7-12). They are cool when you finish...we've done a t rex just like the one at DTD (except smaller :rotfl: )

Donna: Three more days...three more days....
That's so awesome.

Linda: your DS sounds like a sweet little guy. :goodvibes I think he would like the SpongeBob :thumbsup2 I booked our flights for the AF marathon in Dayton. :woohoo:

Nicole: It's a bit cloudy here this am and I'm really hoping for rain. Send your this way. :Pinkbounc

DznyFan: Hang in there...hope you make it until next week with the tooth. I wonder why they don't keep more emergency appts? Your DD sounds amazing! She is going to be a very mature (and tough) young adult. :sunny:

Pozey: Yes, don't forget the tooth fairy...I've made up some pretty lame stories as to why the tooth fairy was late. :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a good day...we are off to appts!
