Has anyone ever been to China? DH has to go for work in a few weeks and will be there about 10 days. I think he is going to be in Beijing, at least that is where he is flying into.

I have heard that you can get really cheap designer purses and things there is that true and if so where would he go?

I don't know how much time he will have for fun but if there is something that he really shouldn't miss please let me know.

I may take the kids to Illinois for the weekend while he is gone. I am not looking forward to the 6-7 hour drive by myself. My DNephew is having his birthday and I think my DNeices may be going also for their birthdays so we can do them all at once.

Hi everyone.

I'm going to go see POTC2 Monday afternoon. I hope it wont be too crowded that is why I'm avoiding it this weekend.

That's when we are going, too. :thumbsup2

We watched the first movie Thursday night to get us in the mood. Then yesterday before the kids got up I watched it again, don't tell them but...
I fast-forwarded thru all the parts that didn't have Johnny Depp in them. pirate:

2xcited2slp...cool I never realized there was a topic review there. Thanks

Oh...I should totally rewatch the first movie. That thought completely escaped me. Thanks for reminding me. :Pinkbounc

Oops, we are getting close to getting pushed to page 2. Thought I would post a  to everyone to bump us back up!

went to POTC last night - thought it was good, but not as good as first.....lots of laughs!!!! As many have said, it is a lead in/set up for the third!!!

Talking to people, we couldn't believe how many had never seen the end of POTC1 where the monkey steals the coin - and less than 10% of the audience knew/thought to stay to end of credits this time.....

I won't give out any spoilers, but we have to go back again to double check some things we caught the first time through......there is alot going on and I think they put a few clues in there (or false leads) for what is going on and will lead into the third movie...the types of things you put together after you have watched all the way through and you start thinking about it...

we can't stop talking about it..... pirate:

Happy Saturday, everybody!!

I don't normally post as much on the weekends, thats why I haven't been around.

Last night DH and I went grocery shopping, then went to Don Pablo's (Mexican place) for dinner. It wasn't that great of an experience, I thought I was getting something different than what I ordered, but I guess that was my fault. So the manager came over and gave me DH's order for free and took some money off, so I'm having that for lunch today.

I also lost sleep again last night! No, not from nightmares but from Ruby! (My puggy.) She was sick with throwing up and an upset tummy so that wasn't very pleasant.

Right now its nice and sunny so I really want to go to the pool!

I hope everybody is enjoying their weekend!!! We might go see Pirates today too if I feel comfortable leaving Ruby!

So sorry to hear that your furbaby was sick. I have two dogs, and I hate it when they aren't feeling well. They can't tell you exactly what is wrong. I hope she is feeling much better today.

I just got back from POTC 2 and I loved it!! My little brother is almost 9 and he wasn't scared at all. He is a bit mature for his age though.

The little jokes were funny and I do recommend watching the first before you go. We went to the first showing and it wasn't too crowded. I can't wait to see the 3rd!!

hellokitty86, I hope Ruby is feeling better. I hate when mine are sick. They look so sad and it breaks my heart. :grouphug: for her.

Whew, I just got caught up with my reading. Lot's of great posts and I'm so happy to be part of such a friendly group of people! :goodvibes

mommaU4 thanks for taking the time to share such beautiful photos. You sound like me with conspiring the first year to get back to where you came from. When we first moved here from down South, I hated it and tried my darndest to get back. Now, we're finally getting that chance. :woohoo:

2xcited2slp thank you for such kind words. I genuinely appreciate it. And people like you is what makes me so proud to be a part of this group. I too will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Do not give up on your dreams.

hellokitty86 so sorry to hear about Ruby's illness. Hope she's feeling better today.

Well all my niece made it in and we are planning to go see Pirates tonight at the local drive-in. Glad everyone is giving it such good reviews. Now I can't wait for nightfall and an evening with Johnny Depp  .

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope to check in later.

:wave2:

Just got back from a neighborhood art fair. There were a lot of really lovely things, just nothing I wanted. Seemed like they were all selling the same things. There was the photography booth, the jewelry booth, the leather booth, the nature paintings, the lawn art and the pottery booth. Then it repeated again.

We were shopping for MIL and FIL's birthday gifts. I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it today.

Was that at Royal Oak where by the baseball field, 13/Coolidge? I was thinking of checking it out but decided not to. How much were the prices of the items? Were they expensive?

I posted way back on this thread. But, guess what? I just got tagged!

Too bad, too, cause I can't stay in the tagless/cliqueless clique. Now I can only be in the cliqueless clique! :rotfl:

Be careful Lucas, if you keep posting in this thread you won't be able to belong to the cliqueless clique either and then where will you be?

Yes, it was the one in Royal Oak. I thought the prices were high. I really liked a metal wall sculpture of a palm tree but it was $395. I don't think so. I know the amount of time and talent that the artist put into it probably made it worth that, but not to me. Like I said I am saving my money for Disney.

Evenin' everbody! Hoping ya'll are having a nice weekend!
Really loved the pics, Momma - looks really pretty where you're at. I live in a part of OK that looks somewhat similar, kind of reminded me of that. Do you have acreage there? Your dairy cows??

HelloKitty I'm so sorry to hear of your sick puppy - that's always so worrysome. how's she doing today?

We cooked ribs today - practice for an upcoming BBQ competition. DH has a team. Not too bad today. Of course, ribs are his "thing" we always do really well in that category.

Lucas - way to go on getting the tag! Just when you make one of your own, tag, you're it!

My tag is all from the Tag Fairy. The 1st part looks like one I made myself cause it is not in color. But, the TF quoted me and put it in like that to make it look like she was replying to me - but it was all the TF.

I still can't believe the TF noticed me - at first it shocked me!! And, now I crack up when I see it. The Tag Fairy has quite the sense of humor! :teeth:

Telly, I just saw your post on the family gettogether thread but didn't want to hijack it. Which Catholic school do you send your kids to? My kids go to Clawson public schools but DS14 has played almost all of his sports at Guardian Angels. As long as you belong to the parish you are allowed to play.
