Lyzziesmom - I think I'll check out that book club.

YM - ouch! That's just ridiculous, but I suppose it had to be done.

I didn't realize 13 was out yet - and I was just thinking about it last night, wondering if it had been released yet. I've got it on the top of my library request list. Ugh, I've got a stress headache from going to the dentist, and I'm starving and numb. I don't think I'll try to eat yet, I'm afraid it'll just fall out of my mouth! :rotfl: Stupid tooth is cracked, I have to get a crown. Have I said.... getting old stinks!

DznyFan: Ouch! A cracked tooth? Hope you can get it fixed quickly, that sounds like it hurts. I cracked a molar last year they sanded down the sharp part until they could take it out.

I just got so excited, there was a Ding for our outbound flight for $10 less than what we paid! For 7 people, that adds up quick. BUT when I tried to cancel our original flight, since it was booked as a round-trip I couldn't cancel just the outgoing portion, and the return flight is unavailable at our original price. I called customer service and they couldn't help, I tried a bunch of different things but they don't have the "internet rate" in their computer and can't cancel just one leg of the trip. So I tried pricing it with a different return flight, it leaves at about the same time but has a layover in St. Louis. That would actually end up costing us MORE, even with the Ding, because of extra taxes & fees with the extra stop. Sheesh. The lady on the phone recommended 1) booking the Ding and we'd get a credit when we didn't show for the "original" flight (not going to take that chance!) or 2) cancelling the original flight altogether and "hoping" the seats would be put back into inventory before someone else gets them (also not taking that chance!). So it looks like we can't use this Ding. So much for my excitement, huh? There's still a lot of time, I'm confident another Ding will come along that we can use. (I hope!)

Lyzziesmom, that sounds like a mess! Good luck on future dings.
Nah, the tooth thing isn't really that big a deal. My dentist explained that as teeth age, it's common for them to develop cracks. He had planned on refilling this old filling, as I was having some issues with cold. Once he got in, he discovered the cracks were worse than he originally thought, took a couple photos, and showed me. The crown is more protective than anything. I've got another one that needs the same thing. He went ahead and refilled it with whatever they use before putting crowns on - instead of amalgam. I go back in September for the first one, and then 'whenever' for the other one, he said no big hurry.

Glad you guys liked the trip report(s). Thanks! I had a ball writing them.

Underdog, thanks for the ice cream!

me: Dad's out of surgery, everything went perfectly - apparently the cardiologist said it couldn't have gone better and he's a perfect candidate.

No problem! I'm glad your Dad is going to be Okay, That's really good news.:goodvibes

Good Morning!

Thanks for the ice cream Underdog!

Your entirely welcome… Have fun at your party.:rolleyes1

UnderDog: That's some fancy ice cream, looks delicious. I'll have a scoop of each please. There's no calories in ice cream, right? Doesn't the freezing process take all the calories out? Sort of like alcohol burns them all off. :thumbsup2 (thumb)

How about a Rum float?

Linda:: Sure hope your new coworker gets his own computer today. You may have to introduce him to the Dis......DVC and DCL!!!!:woohoo: It could be very important info for him to know what you all do in your "down time".;)
oh Kona cafe!! thank you. I can't wait to try that!! He finally got everything set up today, so we should be ok now as far as the over the shoulder stuff. we'll have to see how this guy is...he only has 1 tv in his house, which is a 13" w/only an antennea:eek: I would die:rolleyes1 he figured out my boss and I are disney nuts pretty quick:rotfl:

My kids are great I just love them:yay:
:cloud9: that is awesome!! they grow up too fast!!! Thanks for the ice cream..and loved the quote:lmao:

Lyzziesmom- Vent away!

Well, tonight is finally that "pleasure party" that I was invited to. We'll see how it goes. ;)
whoo hoo:woohoo: have fun!! don't go too crazy:rotfl:

I told her no shots!
oops!! How is Lyzzie doing after her unexpected shots?:grouphug:

Grrr...I just had to spend $156 to have an air duct repaired. It only took about thirty minutes...seems kind of steep to me.:rolleyes1
:guilty: oh man...that stinks! I hate when that happens!! Sorry YM:grouphug:

Stupid tooth is cracked, I have to get a crown. Have I said.... getting old stinks!
How is your dad doing? Wow that conversation w/the sister:sad2: its amazing how some people really think the world revolves around them:rolleyes: maybe she's related to my ex:rolleyes1 Hope your tooth is ok!

I just got so excited, there was a Ding for our outbound flight
Good luck on another ding...plus you'll have to start watching skybus...$10 ea way...can't beat that!!!

today was great....Mike had a dr. appt. down by my work, so he took me to Longhorn:love: YUMMMM Oh, it was soo good!!! Plus it was great seeing him at lunch time. And Kenny loved going to play w/a friend for the day. Hope you all have a great evening. We know Nicole is ;):rotfl:

How about a Rum float?

Perfect!

he figured out my boss and I are disney nuts pretty quick:rotfl:

Gee, I wonder how he figured that out? ;) Emma's dad's family was like that guy, his mom only had one little b/w tv with an antenna. The weird part is, she had it on all the time! Said she didn't want to pay for cable, but she ate out almost every night. Weird family

oops!! How is Lyzzie doing after her unexpected shots?:grouphug:

She lucked out and didn't get the shots! They made her go into another waiting room, and after 1/2 hour there were still 8 people ahead of her so my mom said forget it, she'll just get them next time. Lucky girl! They still made it to the last 1/2 hour of VBS -- just in time for crafts and snack.

Good luck on another ding...plus you'll have to start watching skybus...$10 ea way...can't beat that!!!

Skybus would be awesome if it was more convenient. Right now all their flights go into/out of Columbus OH, and the only flight out of KC is late at night (around 10pm if I remember right). So then I'd have to get a hotel, and the flight to FL is in the afternoon then you need a rental car to get to WDW, so there's another whole day gone. And all that extra $$ for the hotel and the car plus extra days off of work, and then have to reverse that process on the way home... it's just not worth the hassle. Now if they start doing direct flights, I'll be one of the first ones on it! Oh man, my computer just Dinged and I got all excited, but it's the same one I got earlier at work. :sad2: I'm sure another one will come through, there's still over two months. The best Dings come in the last few weeks, gotta fill up those seats!

My parents joined us at Lone Star for their free kids meal Tuesdays today, yummy! I'm still stuffed and I brought 1/2 my meal home! I was hoping I'd have room for dessert, because it's one of the few places around here I can get a decent key lime pie, but I was way too full. We had a heck of a time with the bill though, they "forgot" to discount the kids meals, and then they charged $1.99 for Lyzzie's root beer. The waiter said, "Oh, kids meals don't come with Coke products or juice." I pointed out on the menu where it said, "Kids meal includes choice of beverage" and got that taken care of. He was nice about it but you could tell he didn't want to do it. After all that, Dad decided this would be our one dinner per month that he treats us to, so Dad got off cheap this month. :rotfl:

The kids spent 3 hours at the pool today so they were wiped out and went to bed nice and early, I think I'll be following suit.

Wow, I said something really embarrassing on another thread today and I'm so glad the Tag Fairy didn't see it. It was one of those where a couple other posters had to call for the Tag Fairy - please no!!

But it got me to thinking... wouldn't it be neat if there were some sort of nomination for tags? Maybe like a quote button, but instead of quoting into a message it would send the quote to the Tag Fairy and whatever got the most nominations that day would get tagged with it. There would still be the random tags, but that would add a new level of fun to the DIS, don't you think?

Lyzziesmom - no shots?? Yay!!

Linda - Dad's doing great! I just got off the phone with him, he's home now. His GF is going to stay with him a couple nights, even though he says she doesn't have to. Stubborness runs in my family. :goodvibes
Yeah, the sis is a control freak, and has no idea she is. She just really lacks in people skills, and I want so badly to tell her! Some day, I'm going to have to.

Underdog -a rum float? Interesting....

How about a charry and Rum?

Oh and I thought we could use "A little help from my friends":rotfl: :rotfl:

Have agreat day y'all:goodvibes

Good morning, everyone!! I woke up to a VERY chilly morning today!! (NOT complaining.) According to my outdoor thermometer it's about 48 degrees, but Yahoo is saying it's 55 degrees!! What do they know??:surfweb:
Anyway, the cool weather makes me want to have a warm comforting breakfast. How about Whispering Canyon this morning?

breakfastskillet.jpg

I hope you all have a Whispering Canyon Wednesday!!! Yoo-Hoo!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Good Morning!!!

Donna, to me it would be easiest to just go to RPH when the flight gets in. Then, you can get checked in and go to sleep. You can sleep in and not have to worry about checking in, out, and back in again.

Yeah, that's what I've pretty much decided on!! I'll have to really re-think traveling so late ever again!!

Good Morning!

Well, tonight is finally that "pleasure party" that I was invited to. We'll see how it goes. ;)

I hope you had fun at your party, Nicole!! We want to hear all about it!!:woohoo:

Nicole: Have fun at your party tonight! Now there's something I'd like to be a fly on the wall for. ;)

Donna: I'm pretty sure they did see the shy Emma yesterday. She wouldn't tell me much about it, except she is offended that there's another Emma in her class. She says, "That girl is Emma, but she is NOT me!" So she's going by Emma Rose, which I have a feeling will continue long into her school years. Hey, that table at Kona looks familiar! It very well may be the same table we had on our Convention.

Lyzzie is at the dr. this morning for her camp physical. I assured her it was just a checkup to make sure she's healthy. Then my mom called to get my permission to give her some shots! Oops, I didn't know she was due for a chicken pox booster and some other new vaccine that came out since her last physical a few years ago (I forget which one it was, hepatitis something?). Poor girl, I told her no shots! She's a trooper, I'm sure she'll be fine. Mad as heck, but fine.

I'm glad Emma came up with a solution to deal with the "other Emma". Emma Rose it shall be!!!:cutie:
I'm glad Lyzzie ended up not having to have the shots right now. She can prepare herself later.

I thought when I posted the Kona pic, that's where we sat in February!!

I read about your problems with the Dings. I had read on the Dis a while ago that you should always books your departing and returning flights seperately. At the time I thought it was just a pain, but now I've seen the logic behind why you would want to do it that way. Maybe next time I'll have to book that way myself; I've missed out on some good Dings, too.:guilty:

Hey Donna thanks for breakfast!

Grrr...I just had to spend $156 to have an air duct repaired. It only took about thirty minutes...seems kind of steep to me.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone has a nice Monday.

I just picked up a copy of Lean Mean Thirteen. :woohoo:

Hi, YM!! You're very welcome for the breakfast!!
Those heating and air-conditioning people do have a racket going, don't they?? I've never had one visit me for less than $100!!:rolleyes1

Woo-Hoo!!! The new Steph Plum is out!! I know where you were last night!!

DznyFan:: I'm glad to hear your Dad is doing so well!!
Sorry about your sister situation. Yes, you may have to come right out someday and tell her the reason that nobody wants to call her. It may actually be an eye-opener for her and be the best thing that could happen....

UnderDog:: Thanks for the cherries and rum!!!

Linda I'm glad to hear your co-worker got his own computer.
Your lunch with Mike sounded great!! Just last night Gary suggested that we find a sitter for Nathan one week-end and get away for a couple of days. DUH..... that's what I've been saying for several years!!! I love taking Nathan with us, but sometimes couples just need some "alone time".

2xcited2slp:: Did your headaches/neckaches go away?? I hope you're feeling much better.
Did you get the new Plum book today, too? I guess I'll save #2 for the plane trip to Florida next month.:rolleyes1

Well. better run!!! Have a great day!!:sunny:

Good Morning!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!

Thanks for the rum Underdog!

I had a good time last night! There were about 20 women there including a 3 mos old baby girl! 1/4 were nurses and boy were they wild!!! :rotfl: I even got chosen to try something out! I didn't order anything but might later on. (And no it's nothing naughty!) They had something similar to a hot stone massage that I liked!

Good morning folks!

Donna: I probably would have booked our flights separately for exactly that reason. When there's just 2 or 3 of us it's usually no problem to just cancel and then rebook the Ding and rebook the other segment at the original price, but with so many of us it's just not happening. Unfortunately, Dad booked the flights because the price went down right as I was getting ready to leave for Orlando last time, and I forgot to tell him the book separately trick. It would have been faster to just book it myself than try to tell him the reasoning behind it. Even when I explained it to him yesterday he still didn't really get it. Oh well, we got a decent price so if it goes down, great! and if not, that's ok too.

Last night as we were getting in the car after dinner, Emma was sining quietly to herself. I couldn't really hear her until I got down to put her in her carseat -- she was singing "It's a Small World After All!" That's my girl! (thumb)

Ugh, sinus headache today. Cool morning (72, not as cool as Donna's morning thank goodness!) isn't helping my back & joints any either. I'd so love to just go home and curl up on the sofa and sleep the day away.

Nicole, you wild woman you!! Sounds like the party was a ton of fun. 20 women, wow that's quite a party. Did you have any mojitoooooooos?? I just gotta ask... what on earth could you "try out" at that kind of party in front of 19 other people? The hot stone massage sounds nice, I am always in need of a massage, I get so tense.

Lyzziesmom- No mojitos, just one strong strawberry daiquiri! As for what I tried out...I can't say without getting into trouble! :rotfl: It was something similar to massage oil I guess.

Uh oh I found the rum, looks like someone better hide it!:lmao: Thanks underdog. I was just noticing your signature and looks like I'm not the only one who is a Beatles fan, just a guess?:confused3

Donna-Thanks for the breakfast I am drooling into my computer as I am typing.

This cold thing must be for most of the country because it is unusally chilly and not humid here which I better not complain after several days of 95+temps.

I was so excite and had to share this with someone else. I figured everyone on this board would appreciate this. The mailman delivered to my door yesterday three sets of lanyard and pins for my children. They were so excited even though my little girl won't be able to wear it for years. DH couldn't understand my excitment, but then again he is not a disney nut either. I'm slowly working on him though.

lyzziesmom~I love the idea about the tag fairy. I am still hoping and waiting for one someday, but if I was quoted with some of the things I say everyday:sad2: . Wow I would be a wealth of what not to say. Esp. if that snarky fairy caught me, but thank goodness I am still incognito or so I tell myself.

Have a good day everyone!

Wow - what's up with the colors this morning?

Donna, breakfast at Whispering Canyon!! want some ketchup to go with that?
P1010319.jpg

Nicole, it sounds like you had fun last night! Hmmm.... whadya get??? Just kiddin'.

Lyzziesmom - you go, Emma!

Underdog -how 'bout rum-soaked cherries?? Nice touch on top of a rum 'n fruity.

Boy, we had some crazy storms through my neighborhood last night! We lost power around 10:15, and it was pounding rain from 9:45 to 10:30 before it began to back off. Several limbs down through the neighborhood this morning. The power came back on in the middle of the night.

surfergrl31: That's so cool about your special delivery! Did you send in postcards for the YOAMD? And to get three sets... just amazing! We appreciate and understand your excitement, even if your DH doesn't. If it was something HE wanted, I'm sure he'd change his tune.

DznyFan: Wish I could find my picture of Lyzzie at WCC, but I think it's on my home computer since that trip was before I started this job. She was trying to hide behind the ketchup so she wouldn't have to deliver it. Now of course she wants to got back, but I've stated many times that I am NOT making any more changes to our ADRs.

Nicole: Strawberry daiquiris are my favorite drink... with the possible exception of a raspberry daiquiri but those are harder to find. You ladies must have had a really good time!

I hope you all have a Whispering Canyon Wednesday!!! Yoo-Hoo!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

That just looks too good Miss Donna...thanks!

Hi, YM!! You're very welcome for the breakfast!!

Donna...darn if I didn't even make it through the first chapter yesterday. I was thinking of my friend in St Louis and wondering if a client surprised her with the book like last time? I think at the end of 12 Miss Plum a had taken a nice yummy birthday cake up to share with a certain steamy bounty hunter. Ok, young lady, get to reading.:cool1:

Good Morning!

I didn't order anything but might later on. (And no it's nothing naughty!) They had something similar to a hot stone massage that I liked!

Nicole...glad you survived the party. Thanks for the heads up that you didn't order anything naughty...:3dglasses :rotfl2:

I was so excite and had to share this with someone else. I figured everyone on this board would appreciate this. sufergirl congrats on the pins!:woohoo: Had you sent off post cards for YOMD?

Ugh, sinus headache today. Cool morning (72, not as cool as Donna's morning thank goodness!) isn't helping my back & joints any either. I'd so love to just go home and curl up on the sofa and sleep the day away.

lyzziesmom...did you play a competiteve sport? It sounds like we have similar joint issues. I was a competitve softball player. We started playing in March and went through the entire summer. Then in high school I played in the fall too on the their team. I just irks me because I didn't think the wear and tear would be so bad.:sad2: Of course I'm just blaming it on sports maybe there's just something wrong with my joints?:confused3 Most of mine is my neck/shoulders/upper back....however there is a hip, ankles, knees.....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I actually have a few minutes alone. The bad news is I can't do everything I want to do...I'll probably is DIS and read my book.

DznyFan...that is a bunch of ketchup.:dance3:

Hey we really missed the bad stuff. We were out playing a baseball game and we could see the massive lightning in South Tulsa(we play almost in to Collinsville). The didn't call the game (the coaches watned to play:rolleyes: ). They do have a person that watches the storms and can call them off at anytime. We didn't finish playing until 10:00pm. I felt bad for my inlaws becuase the got cuaght in a down pour on the way back to Tulsa. My youngest Ds was beside himself because of the lightning. I always tell him not to panic just go indoors when you see it. He wanted to go home so bad. Both my kids are afraid of storms. Sorry you got the worst of it. We ended up with about 1/2" of rain but it never rained at my house until after midnight.:confused3
