Well, I had a great day yesterday! We got 2 offers on the house and we took the highest one. We close on April 13 I have alot of packing to do! my dh and I are flying down to WV this weekend to try and buy a house there. Then, we found out that my DH has a convention in Orlando in May that he has to attend for his new job. Guess who'e going with him? It's at Universal, so Keagan and I will enjoy Universal for 2 days and then that weekend we'll head over to WDW for 3 days. Half of it's paid for!

LovableGluttons: Welcome to our fun little thread! We have lots of fun here and don't worry, this thread wouldn't die if you tried. If we haven't killed it yet, it must be pretty darn hardy.

This weekend while we were cleaning the basement, I got rid of so many books...I know I could donate to someone but I just don't want the headache, so I bagged them up, had the kids put them directly into my trunk and am going to take them to the recycling box at school. We get money based on weight, so I figure 9 garbage bags of hard cover books ought to weigh a bit

Of course when I tried to drop them off the bin was full. I am going to have some students take them out tomorrow and leave them in a storage room at school until it gets emptied. I was going to do it today but it snowed all morning and I didn't want all the kids outside in that.

You can donate the books to me!! We are huge readers in my house and I hate to see books go in the trash (or recycling).

We used to have Spirit Week at my last job -- as the head of the enrichment committe, I was in charge of planning it. 1/3 of the employees loved it and totally went overboard, 1/3 hated it, and the rest didn't care. I didn't really care but as the head of the planning committee, I HAD to participate. Let me tell you, I felt like a huge dork sitting there at the front desk in costumes for no apparent reason when visitors came in.

Lyzziesmom- Glad to see you back! That craft area sounds great!! A garage sale is a great way to make some extra vacation money..but I'm not good with the people who want to fight over prices

Last night Jeremiah and I went grocery shopping and got stuff to make meals 4 nights this week. He calls me on his way home and asks me if I want him to pick up pizza Hellloooo, we just spent all this money at the grocery store I'm excited though because we started going back to the gym...We are going to try & go 3x a week and I think we're going to go tonight.

I've never had people fight over prices -- usually I just stay out of it until they are ready to buy. I price things about 30% higher than what I really want, so if they try to haggle over the price, they will think they're getting a good deal. A lot of times I will just put up tables with a price on it and each thing on that table (or in a box) is that price, so there is a $4 table, a $1 table, etc. And I will box or bag small items together, like a baggie of mismatched Barbie clothes in a baggie for $0.50. We do okay, but not like those garage sales I see on TV like on Clean House. Whoa nellie, those guys make a ton of money selling C-R-A-P-O-L-A!

My kids always want pizza or something right after we shop too. Or if we shop at SuperTarget, they want to eat pizza WHILE we are grocery shopping. D'oh!

I hope Linda's boss has a big car, because I'm hopping in there too.

Jeremiah & I just got home from the gym. I did a mile and a half on the treadmill, 2 miles on the bike and about 2 minutes on the ellipitcal because thats too hard

That's not the gym with the rude sales guy, is it? When I was in physical therapy, they made me do the elliptical every time, got me up to 30 minutes. I wanted to kill her every time - it made my pain so much worse! My mom has a treadmill in her basement set up in front of a tv -- I keep meaning to bring over some sweats and use the treadmill a few times a week after work, but I keep "accidentally" forgetting. The good news is, my water retention has stopped (2 days before my follow-up at the dr of course) and my newest meds seem to make me lose my appetite - nothing seems appealing - and I've been dropping lbs like crazy. (although not nearly as fast as I was putting them on for a while there) I also got a scale at home last week, and I like seeing the #'s go down. This might be my newest obsession -- of course every time I think that, it doesn't last long.

Well, I made myself get up this morning and go to the gym. I'm tired but I feel good. Now if I could just get myself to go more often.... I did 15 minutes on the stairmaster, its supposed to work your thighs and your butt (big need there!) and then a bunch of ab work. Now if only I could start seeing some results!!!

Lyzziesmom- We went to the gym at our apartment complex. We were just curious when we went to the other gym and wondered how much it cost...we weren't seriously going to join unless it was REALLY cheap! Its great you are losing weight, but you need to eat something girl!! Even a little something. I don't allow myself to have a scale in my house, because I've been obsessive about weight loss before and its very scary. I allow myself every 2 weeks to get on the scale and thats it, because if I do it more than that I get obsessive and don't eat what I need to. I can't wait until May! I dont know if you read but my Grandparents are coming too. Just curious- would you want to do the luau with us at Royal Pacific (Saturday May 5?) Its like the Poly one with a show and a buffet, (and a kids buffet too, I know your picky )I'm making reservations.
