Hope Santa has been good to everyone! He brought me the latest addition to my other obsession: The Sime 2 Pets. Yay!! I'm off to install & play it in a few minutes.

Lyzzie woke up early and we had to wake Emma up... that was a really BAD idea. In fact, it probably qualified as the WORST idea I've had all year. She is now sound asleep with 5 gifts left to open, including her "big" one. Lyzzie was very good, she had a lot less Santa gifts than Emma and didn't get to her "big" one either before Emma had to nap. I finally let her open it because she kept looking at it but knew better than to ask! It was a Fly Pentop Computer... she was SO excited! But... the battery will take 2.5 hours to charge, so we amused ourselves by reading the instructions.

Would you believe, Santa got me the exact same scarf that my mom gave me last night??

I didn't get the new camera I was hoping for, but I did get some candles, a wall lamp, and a FLAT SCREEN TV! I have no idea where to put it though, it's just a smidge too big for the armoire I have in my room where I wanted a tv. Dad says "just put it on top." Um, yeah right, and ruin my beautiful decorating scheme I copied out of a magazine? It's the ONE surface in my house that doesn't collect junk because it looks too nice!! Dad says he got such a good deal on the TV on Black Friday that even if I can't use it, I can't take it back!!

It is so quiet in here, with Emma sleeping and Lyzzie is doing some hoop knitting with a kit Santa brought. She is making herself a hat. Cool kid!

2x: I laughed so hard when I saw your buffet and then I read about the "other end." Do you guys know me or what??

pozey: be sure to tell Chase Happy Brithday from Lyzzie & Emma & me!! That poster was so cute. And once again, your pictures are superb. I think I got a bunch of pictures of the tops of the kids' heads.

YM: wow, what a surprise in your stocking!! That is too funny.

Glad to see everyone is having a great holiday!! I'm still waiting for my phone call from Mickey that's supposed to come today. I hope Emma's awake, my plan is to put it on speakerphone. Speaking of which: Emma opened an outfit with Cinderella on it, and she said, "I can wear this at Disney!" I am so proud.

Angela, that is too cute of Connor and Ben!! "oh tartarsauce"...lol... my smilies wont work...darn it!

Thanks Pozey, we got a card..but no extras;)... darn :)

Happy Belated Birthday Chase!!! great pix:)

dznyfan... your holiday decor is awesome.

lyzziesmom that sonogram pix sounds so sweet and awesome.

I hope all the sick little ones are feeling better!!!!

thanks Lin :) I think Kenny will be a little heartbreaker too. He asked for a mistletoe to take to school to kiss Alison... NOOOOOO!!!! I got those cards a few years ago at Wal-Mart. I have this BAD habit of finding something I like and buying 10 years worth. I don't need to buy cards, wrapping paper, bows, tags...nothing until Kenny will be graduated from college rolf!

wow Nicole... glad you finally got your card...they were mailed on Monday. Guess its just that busy time of year. Sorry it was so late.

Welcome BuddyBear :)

Ym...what a great gift ;)that was so sweet of your dh, but a GREAT idea!!!

Michele, that was so sweet of Blake. I love my Coach purses too. I would spoil Briana more being that close to Christmas too!

well, we pretty much did our opening yesterday since Kenny got picked up last night at 9 :(!! I saved some of his big stuff for when he gets back. He's scheduled to be w/his dad until JANUARY 2nd... insert fainting smilie here! I don't know that either of them will last that long, but we'll see. Kenny was thrilled w/all his toys and CLOTHES. He was just as grateful and appreciative of the clothes I got him...can you believe that??? I about fell over. Mike got me my Disneyland Thomas Kinkade pix he gave me awhile back, my Lenox display w/the Mickey family gathered around decorating the Christmas tree, the Lenox piece.." Spirit of America" it has Mickey, Goofy and I forget who else w/the flag and a quote from Walt disney...a few other snowglobes, the disney clubhouse ornaments w/our names on them...and that is about it from Mike. My sister made me a MICKEY blanket!!! I will have to post a pix. it is awesome. She made a POC one for Kenny. they're awesome!! Fleece :) She got Kenny the nitro laptop so he can be like Mom ;) It was all so awesome! we ate at moms last night. My nephew is going to be 3 in Jan. He's running around the house saying "BUCKEYES!!!" b/c I got my sister a Ohio State sweatshirt. He said he fell at the babysitters and he rolled down a few stairs...he says " I rolled down the stairs like a football" he says it so fast and so cute...He was just so adorable! My 5 year old niece was very appreciative of her American Girl doll. She hugged me for about 5 minutes!! My 8 year old niece never even said "thank you"!!! She just came over and said "well next year I want the "x" doll" SAD smilie here... I couldn't believe that.

lyzziesmom, just saw your last post. Poor Emma just couldn't take it anymore huh...awww. Glad Santa was so good to you all;)!!! Lyzzies so sweet for not asking to open w/o Emma!! Emma can dress like Cinderella at wdw...too cute! you should be proud, you have two great girls!

2x...thanks that is an INCREDIBLE buffet!!! Hope santa was very good to you! did you get a disney trip in your stocking too???? :)

Mike is asleep on the couch, boy he's gonna be bored around here w/o Kenny this week!!!
Hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas!!!

Linda, it sounds like you guys had a really fun time. What on earth will you do all that time without Master Kenny?? I'd bet his dad brings him back early, without the 'wife' around (you did say she left, right?) he'll see just how hard it can be to have to do it all by yourself. Looks like you got a lot of things to add to your Disney room! It was funny, when I told my dad that I am going on vacation in Feb, he said, "Do we have to ask where?" and my brother said, "Let me guess, Florida?" I was thinking.... if you all think I'm obsessed, you should see this one girl I know's Disney room! (And I mean that in the best, awe-struck way possible.)

I tried to do some trip planning while the DIS was down, but I see that the UG site now doesn't show the crowd calendar for the whole year anymore without a subscription. What a letdown! I see we don't have a meal planned for Sunday, and WCC tentative for Monday. I know we had mentioned 50s PTC, maybe for lunch or dinner on Sunday? I was thinking I'll make up my itinerary and once ADR's are cemented, we can all add our own plans to it. That way we can see who wants to be where & when, and help decide what groups to break up into. Just a thought. I like to be prepared, but of course I always plan on having to deviate from the plan. Last year, I went for 5 days with no plan whatsoever and actually had a lot of fun that way too, but I did feel like I missed some things because I didn't really know about them. Anyway, sorry for the rambling. Must play my game now before Emma wakes up, and then it's off to Mom's house for traditional Xmas dinner! I've been starving myself all day in anticipation of turkey & sweet potatoes!! Mmmmmm.

Remember that project Lesa said she was working on???

It is amazing!!! She made a slideshow DVD of old family pictures with music from Kenny G in the background. She photoshopped some of the pictures to make them clearer and to fix some rips. She made one for my parents, my brother Mike, my sister Melissa and me. We watched it already, the memories that came flooding back! I think that was my absolute FAVORITE gift!!!

Awww Michele that sounds like an incredible gift from Lesa!!!

lyzziesmom... LOL...that is too funny!!! I did get some great additions :)!!! I actually put them in my office;) I got a huge shelf a few weeks ago that has like 16 cubes..whoo hoo...lots of space for more disney stuff!! I think you are absolutely right. I am seriously expecting a call saying to come get him early. Yes, I'm looking forward to it. I am like a lost puppy w/o him! I hate it!! But...at the same time it is great b/c Kenny needs to see that it isn't all fun and games all the time w/dad.... He tries to give him whatever he wants over the weekends so he never has to be the bad guy... I can't see him holding that up for 10 days!! Well, hope Emma enjoyed her nap and have fun at your moms dinner. I'm w/you...ready to plan for Feb. it will be so much easier once Kenny knows about it. I guess I'll have to put a note from Mickey in his stocking...Mickey never called :(...

oh, another cute nephew story...he talks SO fast...I got a candle that was scented like "juicy ripe watermelon". I was holding it for everyone to smell and he smells it like 5x's ...then he says "can I lick it?" rolf... it was so cute!!!

Have a great Christmas evening everybody!

Good evening everyone!! We are back from Mom's house; had a wonderful Christmas dinner and a really good visit!!

Lyzziesmom:: Oh, poor Emma!!! Had to wake her up? Isn't she usually an early riser? Nathan slept until about 9:15am, I was starting to worry about him. When I was a kid I used to be up at first daylight!!!>insert smilie here<
Speaking of trip planning; if you want to go to Restaurant Marrakesh, I have no problem with that!!! Sometimes I just need a slapasideofmyhead!!!

Linda:: Sounds like Santa's sleigh was weighed down with your Disney goodies!!! I know you're gonna' miss Kenny, but I have a feeling he's going to be back sooner that the 3rd!!
Your little nephew sounds like a hoot!!! Sorry your 8-year old niece was a bit unappreciative, it sometimes happens. >insert sad smilie<

OK, I really am irritated that the smilies aren't working and I had a heck of a time trying to post a cake for Chase this morning and I finally gave up!!!!!

Whew!!! I feel better now!!! What was the reason the Dis was down all weekend?? I haven't seen an improvement yet!!!

Michele:: The DVD Lesa made sounds awesome!!! I'm sure it's something you will always treasure!!

Michele: Wow that is an awesome gift. And Lesa: congrats for thinking of and putting together such great gifts for your loved ones! Last year my dad made me a DVD of Lyzzie's first year. He just copied a video tape in its entirety. Except he lost a bunch of it every time he tried to do a transition. And then erased the original. It was a nice thought anyway, but it made me sad to watch it. Not only because some of her moments were lost, but also because things just seemed so much simpler then. I didn't like seeing myself, it was back when I was still young and naive and hadn't become as jaded as I feel now.

Speaking of; I had my traditional holiday cry last night. It usually happens on my birthday, so it sort of snuck up on me. I just had a moment of overwhelming loneliness, when I looked across the room and saw my mirror, and saw myself alone in it, lying in bed reading a book. Suddenly I thought I'd be seeing the same thing when I'm old & in a nursing home, and every day in between would be the same. Morbid ain't I? But then I started thinking about how far I've come in the past few years, and how much things have changed in my life and realized that the future will bring whatever it will bring, and all I can do is make the best of it now.

Didn't mean to get so deep on you guys there, but I'm glad you're there to listen. Er.. um, read. Or skip it, whatever, it helps. <big smiley here>

Linda: 8-year old girls are such a lovely bunch sometimes, aren't they? I am really looking forward to 11. (NOT!)

When Emma woke up from her nap today, the first thing she said is, "I'm not crying anymore, see?" and gave me a huge goofy smile. She wore a Minnie Mouse outfit which she hated before naptime, and is now her favorite. Her "big" Santa gift was a Little Leaps, which is like a toddler video game system. It's basically a glorified remote control for the DVD player, and comes with DVD games that she just has to push big colored buttons to prompt songs & videos to play. It's very cute and she loves it, I'm so glad!! Her favorite is a game called "Naked Baby Blues," a diapered baby sings a song about needing to find his clothes. It is so hilarious!!

There I go rambling again. (Sorry but I missed talking to you guys so much!) I think I'm going to try to call it a night, I've got a ton of cleaning up to do if I want to even find my couch, and I have to go to work tomorrow.

Good Evening!

I had a nice Christmas. I hope everyone did too.

Thanks for breakfast 2X!

Happy belated birthday Chase! That was very sweet of Colton. I love his cupcake cake!

Linda- Wow you got alot of Disney stuff!

Lyzziesmom- hugs (My smilies aren't working either)

YM- I liked what was in your stocking!

Michele- What a great gift!

Good morning Crew!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!
I think this morning I'll fix something simple, because we have all of those left-overs to eat later!!!;)

frenchtoast.jpg

I hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!!!

Just a very brief check-in to say "hi" to everyone this morning - I have a ton of work on my desk and a whole long weekend of posts (after they boards came back up of course), to read. I hope to check back later..... if for some reason I don't return, you might send a rescue team out to look...

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope everyone had a great holiday.

I got 2x2s and pozey's cards on Friday.

Christmas was pretty good. Mike had already given me most of my presents at WDW, but he did get me a another snowglobe and a Shiatsu (sp?) chair massager.

My mom got me a black pearl necklace that I've been wanting forever, some new sheets, clothes, shoes, and a few other things. My grandmother got me orange crocs.

I'm going to catch up, be back later.

Good morning all!

I don't have a lot of time but I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I'll try to get back on later and catch up!!!

I'm back....
caught up enough to catch up here and catch you all up.

Donna - thank you for the french toast!

Michele - what a wonderful gift! Things like that are just so meaningful.

Linda - goodness you got some nice [Disney] stuff! Sorry you have to spend a week without Master Kenny! :guilty: I hope it goes by quickly for you.

Pozey - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Chase!!! :bday: That was so sweet of Colton to make that poster for him - and at such an early hour!!

Lyzziesmom - I felt so sad for you when I read your post about your Christmas Eve breakdown... But - it does seem to me like you're in a good place - two wonderful kids, a house, new job, and lots of cliqueless friends who love you lots... it really did sound like you all had a lovely Christmas though - it was cute that Emma fell back asleep before she had her presents open!

What a weekend I had. Baked all afternoon/evening on Friday, all afternoon/evening on Saturday. DH went to a friend's on Saturday evening for a while to prep meat for Sunday's big gathering, and when he got home around 9:00 he brought me dinner and helped me finish putting the baskets together. I think we got finished around 11:30.

Hi, everyone!! Got home from work a little while ago. Will probably just have leftovers of ham, potato casserole, peas and corn. Easy peasy!!!:goodvibes

Dznyfan:: You had quite the busy weekend!!! Wow, you made me tired just reading about it!!!
I used to watch Northrn Exposure all the time!!! It was on Monday nights and DH used to work on Monday nights.

Not much has happened today...sort of slow. I'm coming down with a cold and starting to feel like I just want to curl under a blanket and try to stay warm!!!:cold:

Good evening to all!!! Talk with you later!!!:surfweb:

Wow DznyFan, I'm exhausted just reading about your holiday & upcoming week!

Not much going on around here. Mom watched the kids at my house for a while this morning, with a promise not to read my mail. So now I have a nice clean kitchen & dining room, and loads of clean laundry.

Speaking of mail, guess what was waiting in my mailbox for me today? My Disney Magical Express documents!! What a nice surprise - just a little over a month now. I can't believe it!

lyzziesmom:::::dance3: Yippee for the clean kitchen and the clean laundry!!!!! may I borrow you mother for a few days???.......then I'll give her back..>:teeth:<

>:yoohoo:< You got your Magical Express documents!!!!!! I really must call Disney with my information!!!! What airline are you flying? Is it Southwest?

lyzziesmom... ...first..YAY my smilies are finally working!!! and   big hugs from us here in OH for your "sad" moment. You shouldn't be sad just b/c you won't settle for the first guy that comes along. Lyzzie, Emma and you all deserve a great man in your life, but that will come when you least expect it. ;) who knows...maybe at wdw in Feb:cool2: I was feeling pretty lonely w/o my Master Kenny too!It just wasn't the same!Oh yeah, she did move out a week or so ago...so that should be a good thing! I called but only got his machine... :cool1: for your ME package coming today and double:cool1: :cool1: for your mom cleaning and not snooping

Dznyfan....shew your weekend sounds a lot like mine... bake bake bake...and non stop for sure. Yes, my family knows exactly what to get me:rolleyes1 anything w/Mickey! Tell Erin we said Happy Birthday!! yay for disney crocks!!!

well I got a visit from Childrens services and she said she feels that his wife was the instigator in a lot of the issues and w/her now gone she thinks things will get better. She said she put him at a "low risk" for now but to call if anything at all happens in the future. That makes me feel a little better, I guess...

Mike and I ran to Hallmark tonight at the mall for some Disney ornaments:banana: . I ran to the one by my work but they only had ONE disney ornament...Simba...I got it... I think I have that one already..but oh well... didn't want to chance it;) then ran to the one at our mall and got exactly the ones I was wanting...and a few others... 7 total...but for 7 Disney ornaments for under $100...that's pretty awesome. Especially since most of them are musical...
2x..I got one that reminded me of you...POC... he was in jail trying to get the keys from the dog and plays "a pirates life for me"...so cute!

just about a month and we'll be heading SOUTH!! WHOO HOO!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day, or extended holiday...;)

>:yoohoo:< You got your Magical Express documents!!!!!! I really must call Disney with my information!!!! What airline are you flying? Is it Southwest?

Yes, I'm flying Southwest. It's funny, my last 3 trips have been on Southwest (the same flights every time - I don't even have to look at my itinerary anymore!) and the documents always say the airline is "unknown." One time I put in my info online, and it still said unknown, so I called a few days later. I got two sets of ME documents in the mail! That was with a package that came with a certificate for a pin set if you use ME, so we got two certificates. Of course I used them both and got two pin sets - Lyzzie now has the collection of all 4 bus pins! Sadly, no such bonuses this time. Which reminds me... I still need to call & see if I can add the DDP.

Linda, that's great news from Childrens Services. It's sad but I bet they see this kind of stuff all the time. It will be interesting to see how much things really do change for you and Kenny. Hopefully for the better!

Hi Hi Hi!!!! (think ho ho ho with a different letter)

you guys, I think my big toothy grin smilie is gone. boo hoo!!!!!! that was my absolute favorite. It showed my "smarty had a party" personality. Now what should I use?? Maybe this one will be my substitute??:upsidedow :upsidedow
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 I'll think about it for a while.

Anyway, everyone recouping well?? I hope you all had a great Christmas!! I got alot of nice "material" things, but the tone was set early on yesterday morning. I stayed at my parents' Christmas Eve----nuff said.:sad2: I really wanted to go home several times before the company came over but felt the daughterly obligation. Moving on.....

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO CHASE!!!!!!!!

Pozey----That was so sweet of Colton to rise so early to make Chase a birthday sign. His pirate cupcake cake was darling too!!!

Donna---I figured you could sleep in at least from us yesterday morning. Now, from Nathan---that's a different story.:upsidedow (I'm not sure this one's doin' it for me.)
I chuckled at your romantic fool of a husband.:rotfl:

DonnaLeah said:
You are all so special to me.

Right back at ya, babe.
(don't get me teary----seems as though the steroids I'm on won't let me turn the "faucets" off once I start.)

Thanks for the toast this morning. Hit the spot after a rich dinner and desserts last night. My tummy needed a little "taming".:upsidedow

Are you feeling any better??

Michele---yay for a new Coach. That's too funny that you showed it to Blake for him to purchase in China. The boy takes hints very well!!!
I received a new one this year too. It is a small pouch-like one that I can sling over my shoulder. My mom got it in preparation for our Feb. trip. She's always thinking.:upsidedow

ooh, Briana is a "came this close" New Year's Baby!! What a New Year's Eve celebration you guys must have each year.

Aww, what a sweet gift that Lesa made for you!!!! What a gal!!!

YM----wow, what a great gift you got in your stocking!!!! (for your b-day) Yes, I'm thinking you definitely need some company!!!! How did your DS's respond??

Lyzziesmom---Too funny that Emma pooped out before finishing her gift opening. Lyzzie is so polite to wait. I bet it was eating her alive. Good momma for letting her go ahead with it.
I want to learn how to knit----you think Lyzzie will teach me??:upsidedow

Yay for a flat screen TV---even though it may not fit. Your dad sounds like mine----figuring out where things will go AFTER the purchase is made.

Did Mickey ever call?? Too cute that Emma is already planning her wardrobe for Feb. The little fashionista girl.

Your holiday cry------I SOOOOO understand, sista!!!!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Loneliness can be so overwhelming, but you are so blessed to have Lyzzie and Emma in your life and from what we know from the past months of our conversations, you have come so far in your life. Be proud of your accomplishments.
I had a friend years ago that used to tell me "there is a God and you ain't it". She used to tell me this all of the time when I tried to "control" things too much. I have completely lost touch with this friend now, but I still, to this day remember this phrase when things get a little crazy and I can't understand why and can't do anything about it. I don't know if this helps you at all, but it has helped me numerous times---making me realize that there is a plan for me, even if I question it ALOT.
:grouphug: :grouphug:
Look in that same mirror and see the wonderful person that we see.

Linda----I cracked up that Kenny wanted to bring his own misletoe to school!!! You better watch out, chica!!!!! That boy is gonna break some hearts!!!
Take it easy this week without him. I know you are missing him terribly!! I would say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but I don't think your heart can get anymore fonder!!! Hugs for you.:grouphug:
Did Mickey ever call??

Good job on the ornament purchases. The POTC is the one that my mom gave me. It is too cute. My JD. blush.

Nicole---glad you had a good Christmas. Get anything fun??

Amber---how was the holiday with the "family"??:rotfl:
Your chair massager sounds heavenly. I was shopping last week at the mall and went into Sharper Image just to sit in one of thiers. I had a really hard time getting up.

Hi Yolanda!!! I heard on the news that you are expecting more snow again?? Be careful, girl.

DznyFan----where do you get all of your energy??
I laughed at your KitchenAid mixer story. I have to tell you that I have a brand new one in the box in my basement because I want to rehab my kitchen and the way it is now is not deemed worthy of my never-been-used KitchenAid. Sad, huh??

And nothing says "I love you" more than goat cheese!
:lmao: :lmao: I love goat cheese, but this is too darned funny!!!!!:lmao:

I suppose I've rambled quite enough for now... I should stop before I pull a 2X2S and start talking to myself...

:rolleyes1 Yay, I have something named after me.:upsidedow :upsidedow Not sure I'm so proud of what it is, but nonetheless.
