pozey, you are a good man!

Mike and I share most of the chores too. He cooks and loves to experiment. I love everything he makes. I can't cook at all; if it weren't for Mike I would starve.

that looks delicious :cloud9: !!! your dw is a very lucky lady!!! I have to admit I am too. Mike takes care of Kenny just like he was his own. Takes him to the dr. if I can't, takes him to school everyday, watches him the other 9 hrs til I get home :rolleyes1 he does 95% of the cooking, cleaning etc... oh...ok probably 99%. But of coarse this is b/c he's now retired and I'm gone 12 hrs... I told him he could wait til the weekend to clean and get groceries but its just easier for him to do it while Kenny's at school I guess... I'm not complaining...no way!! I'm very grateful :worship:

great..now I'm hungry :teeth: Hope you win Pozey... :cheer2:

DW called and said that they have apparently completed the judging, because they started selling slices of the cheesecake. And there were only 3 pieces left. And you really can't tell by the picture - it is a BIG cheesecake. I used a 10 inch springform pan.

Oh yeah........send a little pixie dust our way this evening. Colton and Chase have their first Swim Meet of the Fall Season tonight.

Colton should have no problem with his events. This is the 2nd year he has competed, and he should do very well.

But it will be Chase's first ever Meet to compete in. He is very nervous. And he will be one of the youngest in his age group.

Donna, Happy Anniversary!! 18 years, wow.

pozey, Amber is right, you are a good man. Your DW is a very lucky lady.

Lin... was that Tortuga rum I saw there? My favorite!!

2x2s, how was the Hoop de Doo? We had the table up front right next to the piano, a little TOO close. Lyzzie kept touching the stage, and all the pictures are either up the nose or crotch-shots.

Watched the Lake House last night... cute but the paradox stuff really bothered me. Have a lunch date today, yay!! Also have a tummy ache, not so yay. Went to the dr. this morning for a follow-up, the cortisone shots didn't work.

Back to work! Hi to everyone else!

Hi everyone!!

Happy Anniversary, Donna!!

Those waffles look sooo good. That is what I had to eat every morning when I was at Disney.

Lyzziesmom, sorry the shots didn't work..That stinks. I watched The Lakehouse last Friday. I thought it was good, although I almost had an anxiety attack the last 5 minutes of the movie. :rolleyes1  Have fun on your lunch date!!!

Amber, Ruby uses proper silverware too :teeth: Gosh I'm bad when it comes to giving her people food. I need to cut down, but she gives me those puppy dog eyes and I melt.

Pozey, I hope you win the dessert contest! That cheesecake looks delicious, I wish I had some right now.

I shouldn't give Leary people food either, but he just looks so sad if I don't. Mike has now started making Leary and Cyprus scrambled eggs once a week.

My mom has Leary's sister and she gives her (Derby) cookies and candy. Derby even eats Pop Rocks!

My lunch date was cancelled for today, but that's ok... I was actually considering cancelling anyway due to the tummy ache. I do feel better now though. I went to Target instead and got caught up on my shopping, and then some! Have any of you ever used the Fly pen/computer thingy? They had a couple of them at 30% off and I picked one up for Lyzzie for Xmas because that was a great price, but I'm not sure if she will find it easy to use or just frustrating.

Donna, I forgot to thank you for the delicious Mickey waffles!! I also had those just about day for breakfast last trip. And if we were someplace that didn't have them, I have been known to have the kid-sized ones from time to time.

Between the waffles and pozey's cheesecake (which looks FANTASTIC by the way!), it's no wonder I had a tummy ache this morning!

Ashley and Amber, you girls are cracking me up with your people food to dogs stories! I used to gross out my mom by sharing food with my cat - she would eat anything. We would share an ice cream cone... a lick for me, a lick for kitty. Mom couldn't watch, it was pretty hilarious.

My, what a beautiful day it is here, after two days of rainy/dreary. I had to go out at lunch to an optometrist appointment, had the sunroof open, and didn't want to go back to work!

Happy Annniversary, Donna!! and thanks for the waffles!

Pozey, that cheescake looked fabulous - made me very hungry coming in first thing this morning and seeing that..... and much pixiedust: to Chase and Colton for the swim meet tonight!

Ashley, your pics of Ruby and Buddy were cute. Quite a handsome kitty Buddy is.

Although I have the giant dog from (Evanovich readers: think Bob, but not as dumb) I'm really a cat person. What's weird is I'm an avid supporter of dog rescue, have spent some years doing obedience and agility with two prior goldens, and soapbox when it comes to backyard breeding. I had to cover my ears "la la la la la - I'm not listening" when I read about people food and your little pooches.

Lyzziesmom, I hope your lunch date was nice and your tummy was better before you went. (oops - just read your post) Sorry to hear your cortisone shots aren't working. DH had to go thru that for an issue he's got that's non-repairable (HIGH risk to repair) and they quit working. I couldn't do it.... they'd have to put me OUT to do what they did to him.
My cat won't eat anything that's NOT cat food. I can't even get her to eat tuna or drink a little milk. My cat before would eat M & Ms and spinach.

hope you all are having a lovely afternoon. Pozey, I'll be by to pick up those last three pieces of cheesecake after I'm done with parent/teacher conferences tonight.

Mike and I went to the Redskins game and they lost. :guilty: We had a great time though. We met a couple of cool people. One guy (we named him Drunkard) kept running up and down trying to get the crowd to make noise. Everytime the Redskins would do something good he would come and and start hugging people.

This morning we found out our furnace doesn't work. I am hoping it's a simple fix, but with my luck we'll need a new furnace. :guilty:

I'm sorry your furnace isn't working. Hopefully you've gotten it fixed by now.
Since you are a Redskin's fan I thought you might get a kick out of this: a picture of Redskin Jon Jansen and Matt, years ago. Matt is the one on the left.

When Matt was in 1st grade his teacher was Jon Jansen's mother. At the time he was a captain of the Michigan Wolverines. He came to school all the time, I have lost count of the number of autographed items he has. I get a kick out of the size difference.

Pozey, those pictures of your neighbor's house are unreal. Esp the fire!! :firefight Has anyone ever talked to them about it?
I just saw the cheesecake you made for your wife...she is a lucky lady!! I keep reading further and finding out more stuff...you iron your wife's clothes!!?!? That's it, we're having you cloned!!

Happy Anniversary Donna!!! party:

Good Luck! Chase and Colton!here's a little pixie dust to help!! pixiedust:

The Mickey waffles were perfect. I'm glad Nathan is feeling better.

I got over to the HS this morning for Matt's meeting only to be told it is actually tomorrow!! So I'll try again. This worked out better for me, one of the ladies at work's birthday was today so we had treats during our break which I would have missed had I been at the meeting so :cool1:

OK, I think I'm caught up now. I suppose I should do some housework?

Good afternoon everyone!

Donna- Thanks for the Mickey waffles!
Happy Anniversary!!! party:

Pozey- That cheesecake looks good! I agree with Michelle, you must be cloned! You are the perfect man! pixiedust: for Chase and Colton!

Ashley- I love those pics of Ruby enjoying her ice cream!

Have a great day everyone!!!

Aw thanks guys!

I am FAR from perfect, but I try to be a good husband and father. Besides, aren't you supposed to do things to please your spouse? :thumbsup2

And thanks for the pixie dust for Colton and Chase. I am going to try to videotape some of their races. It might be difficult, because there are about 30 kids on our swim team, and only 1 coach. Usually I go down to the swim deck and help him out. But I also like to be up in the stands so I can watch the races.

I really want to get some video of Chase racing, since this is his first meet.

Hey Pozey....didn't mean to draw so much attention your way....but hey it's good attention. Best of all...in addition to all your good attributes...I think you have a great attitude. Hope we don't have too much pressure on you now. ;) :smooth:

Ok...I need to vent as this has been building all week. I took my DS to the allergy clinic last week to have some additional testing done so we can start shots. His allergies are only moderately bad on paper but they are indoor and outdoor...plus cover all seasons. He takes a bunch of meds and has mild asthma (due to his allergies). Our goal is to get him off the meds. I had requested input from his dr and they agreed to see us right after the testing to review the results(this is an extremely busy clinic).

The nurse that tested him tried several times to shoo us out the door but I stood my ground "thinking" there was a communication error. Finally, she came back (the third time) saying there was a communication error and that we would be seen. Well, the dr walks in and the first words out of her mouth was that she had two patients waiting and she didn't have much time (the nurse had already verbalized this too me but call me dumb...when do dr.'s have "extra" time). :confused3

About 90 seconds later her nurse opens the door and stares at me. Then about every two minutes she would open the door and stare. I'm not even sure how long the Dr stayed but we did chit chat about the allergies but I couldn't even tell me DH what we discussed becuase I was so disctracted by everone's hostility (I was clueless to some degree but a bit defensive ). In the end I signed the consents becuase we were already thinking about proceeding with the shots.

Funny part was that it took me a while to figure out it was humiliation I was feeling about the treatment...like we weren't a "paient" and I was being a pest for expecting them to follow through with what they agreed too. Not to mention that "thinking" your Dr is sharp and wanting her stamp of approval....is a bad thing? Now I'm just unhappy and not feeling comfortable with our decision...which is not black and white. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Help....please give me some feedback..I can take it  :confused3 :confused3

YM - I am sorry to hear about your Dr. troubles. That is NO way to treat a patient! I probably would have walked out, and found myself another clinic. Then again, I have always been one to jump from Dr. to Dr. because I am VERY picky about who treats me. If they are not respectful and attentive, I simply do not trust that they have my best interests in mind. I don't think you did anything wrong, but I do think that their behavior was very intimidating and unprofessional.

Good afternoon everyone!!!
Mr Microwave Installer has not shown, looks like he may not.

Glad Nathan is feeling better. Did he like the new Garfield movie? Do you like your Highlander? I really like them but they'd kill me in gas :rolleyes1
That Mickey waffle looks SOOO good  Kenny would love that!!
Nathan really enjoyed the Garfield movie. I took him to see it early this summer. I really like my Highlander. I got it for the better gas mileage, it's only a 4-cylinder and not 4wd. It gets about 27mpg.

pozey::That cheesecake is to die for!!! What a great guy you are!!!! You cook, clean, iron and you LOVE Disney!!!!
Good luck to Colton and Chase at the Swim meet tonight!!!!

lyzziesmom:: I'm sorry the cortizone shots aren't working. Sending some pixie dust your way!! pixiedust: Hope your tummy feels better, too.

YourMajesty:: I just read your post about DS's allergies. Other than DH's problems every now and then, I don't know much about them. Are there other allergy specialists in your area you could go to? This Dr. sounds too busy to me!! Unless there aren't any choices due to insurance or whatever, I think I'd be shopping around for a Dr. that DID take the time to discuss your DS's condition. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the Anniversary wishes everyone. My own sister and mother don't tell me Happy Anniversay, but you guys do!!! You're all the BEST!! :thumbsup2

I think the three of us are going out to eat tonight. DH and Nathan want to go to Lone Star, I think I may have the chicken. :teeth:

YM, ya know - I'm finding the same problem with healthcare. We USED to go to a doc who was in a GROUP of doctors and we waited long after our appointment time before we ever got in to see him, he would minimize the complaint and never would DO anything. He'd rush us in/out of the office ASAP. (My DH's back issue is a good example). We finally gave up, and on the recommendation of my sis, tried a small doctor's office in a small town east of where we are. We've been EXTREMELY happy. They take time, we're seen on time, they have found issues with both DH and I that have been skipped over by our previous physician. Doctors anymore - they just don't have 'time'. They're overbooked, and overpaid, and we're overcharged for minimal quality service.

If you'd like I can refer a pediatrician to you who comes very highly recommended as a doc, and happens to be a friend of ours. HOWEVER she's in Jenks. If I weren't already happy with our healthcare providers as it is now, I would take my DD out there until she's 18, despite the drive. And DD has said she would love to have her as a doc.

Thank you...the perfect words I was looking for very very intimidating and unprofessional (I couldn't think of the right words). I can't believe I didn't crack to the intimidation until I got home....they were probably thinking I was being a *witch *(usuing that word so I don't set the filters off :teeth: ) but honestly I didn't really know they wanted me to leave until the Dr walked in and said what she did....then that nurse....man I really wish I had left...that was totally not called for.

Thanks everyone for chiming in. They are the "big" clinic but not the only one. I think I'm realzing it's big money machine and we've spendt plenty of $$$ there. Boy I'm glad I got that off my chest it was starting to consume me.

OH my DznyFan...I'm with a Dr at OMNI and what a joke. I keep saying I need to find someone else. This place locked my records once for a bill I never got(a basic office visit). Seems it got tied up somehow with the insurance so they just cut off my healthcare. :confused3 If I had gone to St John's for an emergency they would have denied me...they wouldn't even let me talk to the nurse. Luckily we can go anywhere with our insurance and see specialist without a referral (we do have a perferred list). We do have a nice pediatrician that is not tied to these "big" groups.

You know the more I think about it why would they be so unprofessional if they cared in the first place...so no reason to stick around. I just want to do the right thing for my kiddo....more thinking. :scratchin

lyzziesmom...sorry about your cortisone shots not working. :sad2: I think I could use some of your decisivenss(hope that's a word) and mabye be a little quicker with these Dr.'s...maybe you should pass the "dunce cap" to me. :smokin:
