And I agree about the scammers. There is one intersection (YM and DznyFan would know where I'm talking about - 71st and 169), that there is this same guy there ALL THE TIME. I think that may be his "job".
seen him!

Yeah, if it were not for the game, I definitely was going to buy him a couple of hamburgers. I also did not want to insult and embarrass someone who might not have been homeless.

Anyway......I can't stop thinking about what I should have done, or if I did the right thing by doing nothing.

Oh yes...they are everywhere. I come from the north and there is some at 244 and Utica every morning...lots of people around that area. I don't think it sounded like he needed money...PSP, movies, mp3, internet....booze? Now, from the way he was dressed I might have thought different. Actually, I would have been concerned about someone drinking booze in a McDonalds with all the kids around and probably wouldn't have thought about buying him a burger...if that makes you feel any better (just the worry wart coming out). :teeth:

ETA: Anyone remember in Two Weeks Notice when Sandra Bullock throws some change into a mans coffee because she thought he was homeless and he yells at her..... :teeth:

Hey look, I hit 1000 posts! But you guys already knew that, didn't you?

pozey, I absolutely think you did the right thing. By buying him food, you would have been just enabling his behavior. If he can afford a PSP and a bottle, he can afford something off the dollar menu. Not to mention that he was drinking and playing video games in a McD's... that sounds to me like a possible child predator. Perhaps he was looking to lure in young boys who like video games. Scary!!

I just have to tell you guys, my boss has been teasing me mercilessly about my new office romance. Even though we work on opposite sides of the building and different (but overlapping) shifts, she is getting a huge kick out of the whole thing. She is very protective of me, and had to let me know that she "approves." The other day, she asked if I would be seeing him that evening and when I said yes, she said "four days in a row?" and started humming the wedding march. Geez!!

Aww....that's too cute!!! That's good that she approves! When I was in hs, I worked at Walgreens and there was this guy that worked there that liked me, I only wanted to be his friend. Well one night my 2 managers told me "If you were my daughter, I wouldn't let you date him." I felt so loved!

Quiet here today.

Wow!! Cliqueless Crew!!! I can't believe that no one has posted since this morning!!! I hope everybody is OK!!!

lyzziesmom::Congrats on 1000 posts!!! :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :hyper: :rockband: :dogdance:
Staying up all night talking on the phone and seeing each other 4 nights in a row??!!! Thaaaats where you've been!!

pozey::You are very kind to think of the man with no food, but sounds like that was his decision. If he could get a PSP with a game and booze he probably could have found the $1 for a hamburger!!!

YourMajesty:: Nathan loves to read the Captain Underpants books. He has a series of them and ordered 2 from his book club at school this month!!

Donna, you finally got your microwave! I was surprised to read it was Lowe's - we just bought a new fridge this week and they were right on time with delivey and installation. Sorry you had such a difficult time with yours.
I think the Lowe's mgr. explained that they have several different independent contractors to do their jobs. The first guy was just a dud!! The man that came last night was very professional, friendly and cleaned up his mess!!! I have no problems with Lowe's at all!! :thumbsup2

Nathan and DH have gone to the grade school basketball game. I just wasn't in the mood to go. Anyway, hope everyone has a good evening!! :goodvibes

Hey Donna

I've thought about the Captain Underpants books...good to see that they get the thumbs up :thumbsup2 I guess since my boys already wear them on their heads they will have a common interest. :teeth:

Does Nathan play basketball. He is very tall if I remember correctly. My youngest is tall for his age. We tried basketball last year and he couldn't seem to catch on. I hope he will play the winter session which starts in January. My oldest just started fall practice tonight.

So Nicole..are you a rock n roll girl? :rockband:

lyzziesmom...you better sleep with your glasses on...you might get another text message. So what was your boyfriend doing up at such an hour. :scratchin

That's ok, I can always just turn the darn thing off. He was just going to sleep, he works a later shift than I do. Must be nice...

I'm going to catch up on some tv watching and try to make it an early night. I will not be hooting here tonight!

He loves to play basketball!!! I have him signed up for a league at our city Rec. Center. I think it starts in early November.

Goodnight, lyzziesmom!!! :cloud9:

Boy, it really was quiet around here today.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

Gonna go watch the rest of the CARDS - Mets game. Go CARDS!!

Matt had his last football game tonight and they won 48-14 :cheer2: :cheer2: They went undefeated this season 9-0!!!! They were soooo excited. It was a fun game. It was away and they scored the first touchdown so the boys were in the unfamiliar territory of having to catch-up. Then one of our boys, DuShawn, returned a punt 99 yards for a touchdown. I think he ended up with 4 touchdowns tonight. It was a great game and the boys celebrated but didn't taunt or try to embarrass the other team on their field. I was very proud of them.

This is Matt after the game. If anyone watched Two-a-Days on MTV about the Hoover football dynasty, that is the hand gesture he is making. His team 'adopted' it.

This is his team.

See you all in the morning :cloud9:

Good Morning Everyone!

I am so glad it's Friday!!! :woohoo:

Michele, yeah for Matt's team winning! :cheer2:

:wave2: to all! Have a great day!

:joker: (just because I like him).

MI Mom.......Tell Matt congratulations on his team's undefeated season! That is something he will always remember!! And the Hoover team played (and soundly beat) one of the local HS teams here in Broken Arrow the first game of the season. It was a big deal around here.

Oh, and we get our Cardinals-Tigers World Series!! Woo Hoo! :cool1: I am very excited. I am cautiously optimistic about St. Louis' chances. It will be an upset if the Cards win.
