Hi All

I had the opportunity to speak with a family that had just come off the 7-night cruise one Saturday while at Downtown Disney and they mentioned that someone won over $4000 playing bingo on their cruise.

I tried to look happy for them but I thought of all the money I have spent on bingo on the cruise and never won :p

This got me thinking - any DISer's ever win at bingo on the ship? If so how much did you win?

Thanks for sharing

John

ME! :teeth: TWICE in one session! I won about $300 as I had to split both pots with other people. It was a KICK, I do have to say, as I never play Bingo on the ship and just happened to do it last December. :)

Well...it wasn't much but I won $42 playing bingo on my cruise earlier this month. Not a lot but it sure was fun to yell "Bingo!" when I got the right pattern.

My husband won $75 in December...and he doesn't even really care for Bingo (he played to spend quality time with me)! :)

We played two session of bingo on the 1/4 Magic.....well, I am with you John......spent about $200 bucks and didn't win a thing!!!!

On a side note about Bingo....I hear Big John from the cruise staff is now the Bingo king onboard since Robin (the reigning Bingo King) has gone on vacation.

Was wondering how they compare...they are both very funny guys!!!

mmouse- $200 on BINGO! How much does ir cost to play!?!?! I thought I would be playing on our October cruise, but I don't know now!

We spent about $300 on bingo on our Alaska Cruise last summer, and never won.

We went to 4 sessions of Bingo on our Magic cruise and spent about $130, and finally got to yell Bingo in the last game of the 3rd session. Unfortunately 5 other people yelled bingo at the same time, so we only walked away with $30. But it was fun to finally yell BINGO!!!

As for cost, DCL is actually pretty cheap as far as Bingo is concerned. I don't remember all the costs, but I remember in the sessions on the first couple of days, you could get a 3 card set for $20. Then as the week went on they started offering a 6 card set for I believe $30 or $35. Then of course you can buy extra sheets for the last game which is the jackpot game. They do have a 1 card set, for $10 I believe if you just want the experience.

My dh, dsis and I played twice and my my dbil played once on the 1/25 cruise. I won a 1/2 hr massage at the spa as a door prize but no one in our party won any $$. It is pretty expensive to play but one family won about $400 and it was the same child that won 3 games. His father was psyched.:smooth:

On our cruise last October, my DD, Meg, won twice in the same day! The day after she turned 18 and could play. :) She won a total of $325.00!! It was a great start to the vacation for her and the shopkeepers in Cozumel were happy! ;)

I won $60 dollars and then my father won twice in the same session (the last session) including splitting the jackpot. He won around $3,000.

The individual games are not that expensive....I think it was $35 for 3 or 4 games. But, we had about 4 or 5 people playing on two different days...so it added up.

 Beware:eek:

Bingo is VERY addicting. I probably spent $75 on my last cruise in bingo, I won once, about $65 bucks... so only 10 bucks in the hole, not too bad. I'll have to ration my Bingo play on my next cruise. I am going to try very hard to only play twice.

Unless I hit it big on the nickel slots at Atlantis :)

Our family was on the January 25 7- day Eastern. We kept hearing every day that the Bingo jackpot was steadily growing. By the last day, the pot was said to be about $5,000. My 27 & 23 yr old daughters and I decided to give it a try...we've never played Bingo. We invested $55.00 for 3 cards each. We agreed if any one of us won anything, we'd split it 3 ways. Well, we never even came close to winning the 1st 4 games, but when we played the jackpot.........we won! We split about $4400.00 with 3 other people. It was so exciting, and even with a 3-way split between us, we figured we did OK! Will we ever do that well again? Probably not! But we'll never forget this one ( Our server, Arvind actually told us the night before that he always has a big Bingo winner at his table)

I won $3100 on the last day of my 4-day Magic back in 2000. Wanted to just stay on the ship fo the next cruise but paid bills instead. It was very exciting to yell "Bingo".

SeaGull4 - we were on the same cruise!!! You stole my jackpot!!! Just kidding!!

I was amazed at how many people showed up for final bing - it looked like every seat in the Walt Disny Theater was full.

seagull4,
Congratulations, we were on the same sailing and played the final day. Nice to know it was another diser that won!:)

John....your post should have read How Many People Have
Spent a Fortune Playing Bingo and NOT WON ONE RED CENT...

Well, I guess you tell by my post.....what I'm all about.

On two 7 nights, one 4 night, one 3 night....thats 20 games...
roughly 400 bucks.....never won anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But l love it and will keep going back.

Last December during our 3-day Wonder cruise, I won $7500 playing BJ at Atlantis. Found a good double deck game and a great dealer! Everything I did, split cards, double down, worked!

After about an hour, the luck started to change and DW dragged me away.

Can't wait to get back to Atlantis. Dealer and floor personnel were all very nice and generous.

We were in the Catskills this weekend and they had cruise ship bingo all three days. My daughter won two times for $175. Guess who's going to be picking the cards on our cruise?
