a link?

I got this wild idea today - thinking about our trip in December and how very far away that must seem to a 5 yr. old..

So - I happened to have one of those binders where you can insert a photo in the front and the back covers and came up with this cool idea for my granddaughter.. First I made a calendar for each month until we leave - decorated with Disney graphics of course..;) This will be for her to mark off each day on the calendar with a red "x"..

For the front I printed up this "certificate".. It reads "You're going to Disney World!!!!" - has a graphic of the Disney Characters below that - and then at the bottom it reads - "Presented To:" - and has her name printed on the line.. The whole certificate is then bordered with red balloons..

I've been trying to find 115 Disney coloring pages that I can print out from the internet (on heavy card stock) that I will date on the bottom so she can color one page every day until we go..

I would LOVE a really awesome photo for the back of the binder, but haven't been able to find one yet that is really awesome and thought you guys might have one you would share..

Also - if you have any other ideas of things I can put in this binder, I'm open to any and all suggestions!

I think I'm leaning towards yours though, helenabear because blue is one of her favorite colors!!

Gosh - you can get ANYTHING here, can't you? LOL

Forgot to ask - is there a way I can make that a lot larger? Like 8x10?

Thanks!

I don't have any photos but I just wanted to say that I think you have such a fabulous idea! That was so creative & I'm sure your granddaughter will just love it!!

How about adding some puzzles? Check out this site for links to some neat puzzle, find-it sites which can be personalized. My kids love finding their names, favorite rides, etc in the puzzle.

Thanks! I just got to thinking today that 5-year-olds don't really have any "true" perception of time and this might make it easier for her by marking off the days..

Can you think of anything else really neat I could put in the binder?

Personally, I love Dan Murphy's photo that has the roses along the bottom. He's shared it many times before.....care to post a link to it, Dan?

As for coloring pages...you should be able to find MORE than enough here...
Disney Coloring Pages
Some of the site is in Italian (I think!) but you can make out what they're after! I printed LOADS of them for my kids and niece and nephew for our December trip last year :)

This site has animal ABC coloring pages. I added a few of these since we stayed at AKL...

And here on the DIS, this thread has tons of printable activities! We used them to make kee-em-busy-in-the-car books, but you can put them in your binder, too!

Good luck! Sounds like a GREAT idea! ::yes::

Thanks for all of the great ideas! You folks are the BEST!!!! :)

Your idea sounds awesome. I'm afraid I don't have pictures but I have seen them around. Might I suggest a Christmas photo for the back cover? There are photos out there of the MVMCP parade, MK tree, Epcot tree, the Osbourne Lights, GF gingerbread house, etc. Also, don't forget to find a picture of your resort. Maybe a collage rather than just one photo.

I get a disney calendar every year at the disney store and my calendar is counting down backwards til our Christmas trip. My boys just laugh at me but I've seen them stop and look at it when they didn't know I was looking!

How about getting some maps of the parks and a list of the rides and shows she can do for each park when you're there and see if she can find where they are on the map. Might be kind of involved. I think your idea is a great one!

Get some pages for the binder that are for pictures, and some regular old scrap book paper for it too. When you guys get home, she can make it her vacation photo/scrap book. :D
