Who has used Impressions Invitations?

So, I got my packet from Disney via email today listing all the wedding stuff, officiants, cosmetologists, etc.

I pretty well have my mind made up about all that stuff, but haven't even thought about invitations.

Disney recommends Impressions and I liked the stuff on their site. I emailed her (Shelly) and she promptly emailed me back "Congrats, love to work with you, etc." She said she'd send me some samples.

Has anyone on the board 1) met her in person 2) seen her work in person or 3) gone with her for their invitations. I've read some not so great stuff on here about her samples she sent. And that she is maybe overpriced.

Does anyone know her price range? I told her I wanted 50-75 custom invites plus place cards, RSVPs, and so on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. I've read where some people said you could get comparable work elsewhere, but I don't want Disney characters on my invitations, so that is out for me.

I got a smaple packet from Impressions and for the price I wasn't too impressed. If you are looking for non-disney invitations, I would go with just about anyone else. My friend had a very good experience with invitationsconsultant.com (I think that is the website)

I priced the Mickey program / fans from her. They would have cost me $26 each! I wasn't impressed with the sample they sent me either.

You can find Disney invitations online much much less expensive.

I used this company and everything was 30% off. They were super fast too!

i have been working with shelly and have had no problems . i found one that i liked and i felt that it was a good price. My planner used her for her wedidng and said she was a good fit. I hope i did not make the wronge choice

sarcasticblonde, you've got mail! :)

To all,
We used Impressions for a family wedding and I was closely invloved with the preparation/ordering of the invitations (MOH). The work was very nice, the pricing was a little pricey (and it was only one of the pre-designed Carlson Craft Disney invites), she was nice....for us the problems seemed to be in the follow thru / completion of the order. I'm not sure if she's just to busy or it just slipped thru the cracks, but the order got all messed up and caused a lot of stress for the bride.

My reccommendations:

If you like one of the regular, ready made designs from the Carlson Craft Disney invitations: Shop around and find the best price and service. There are plenty of vendors who offer these invitations.

If you have your heart set on something custom with Disney artwork: To my knowledge, Impressions is the only vendor licensed to do custom invites with Disney artwork. So she's pretty much it. Just make sure you follow up periodically with her to check on the status of your order and make sure it's moving along as it should and will get to you in time!

Thanks everyone for your honest responses!

It's not a big deal to me to have Disney (i.e. characters) represented in any way on my invitations, but she was recommended by Disney and she did custom invites.

I've perused many, many websites in the past for invitations and I've never found any I like. I'm very picky and like modern, colorful invites. Custom is the way to go, but I also don't want to pay too much

Thanks again...I think I'm going to look elsewhere. Bye bye Impressions ;)

I've used Impressions for invitations, programs, table signs, favors and wish I would have used them for save the dates too. We had a planning session with Shelly at Francks at the Disney Wedding Pavillion. She was very helpful and came up with ideas that I would have never thought of. Since my budget was an issue she came up with ideas to help me save money on some things so I would have more to spend where it really counted for me. It also helped my stress that she works directly with Disney so everything is coordinated. I really thought she helped put just a little more magic in our very special day. When it is time we will use them for our baby announcements too. :wizard:

we had a terrible time with impressions...way over priced … found ourselves backed into a corner poor, communication and no time to go elsewhere...

I've heard some good experiences with her...ours just wasn’t one of them

While some people have had problems with Shelley, for me she has been absolutely wonderful! She did our invitations, programs and menu cards. I made sure to keep in very close contact with her through the whole process because of the negative things I had heard. We have had more compliments on our invitations than on anything else so far. She was great for me!

How about designing/making your own? There are plenty of paper companies out there to get exactly the right cardstock and then you can use printshop or another program to design them the way you want them! :thumbsup2

All the reviews I have heard about her lately have not been good. I had the same experience where we started out with O.K. communication but then she dropped off the face of the planet and I was never able to make the order.

Wow, I am glad that I checked the boards tonight. I too have exchanged so many wonderful e-mails with Shelley, received beautiful samples of her work and on Monday received an e-mail about setting up a planning session on Wednesday. I sent her back a reply that I was available all day. Wednesday came and no phone call. I e-mailed her because I was worried and I have still not heard back from her. I am not sure what happened. The e-mail was so sweet she sent me on Monday about how excited she was.

I am so confused and time is ticking away!!:confused3 Do you think I should call her or look elsewhere?
