Are they really cool? I want one. Where do you buy them? I found this quote from a site:

"Pal Mickey is still hard at work tour-guiding guests around the parks. Pal Mickey has proved to be so popular, that he will only be offered for sale now and can no longer be rented for the day. The Happiest Celebration on Earth edition of Pal Mickey, dressed in a tuxedo, will be introduced soon to help celebrate Disneyland's 50th."

I read the new one will be out in May. Hmm..should I wait, or get the original now cheaper?

My son bought a pal mickey last december and it was a lot of fun learning all kinds of things about the park and stuff. Well worth it.

My mother gave us a Pal Mickey. She got it for free at Epcot from the Wayne Brady Show!!! We like it!

:wave2: Was $60 and got ours 3 years ago.Since then we have taken him each trip back to Disney. He does update his information on each trip.Is fun to play trivia games with while in que and helps the time past.I think new version of Pal Mickey will be about same price.Do keep your eye on him if you buy one I have seen many posts where folks have had Pal Mickey come up missing. They leave on bench or table or on top stroller and leave unattended for a short time and Mickey comes up missing. :goodvibes

I bought one through Ebay just before our trip. My youngest daughter loved him and carried him all over the place. He kept us updated on a lot. He told her some interesting information so she looked like the "smart expert" while we traveled through the parks. You can buy him just about everywhere at WDW. They had a sale of Pal Mickeys at our resorts gift shop when we were there last month. Sad to say I didn't save that much through Ebay. But he is no doubt worth the money.

Anyone know when the new Pal Mickey will be available? I am going in June and would like to get one before we go, instead od waiting until we get there. :earsboy:

Someone posted a day or 2 ago that they are available now. I'm not sure how you would order one though... the new ones are already on eBay. I would just like to know how much they are going to be. Anyone know????

We have the old one and love it. We plan on buying the new one (we're suckers for newer technology) when we get to WDW tomorrow. :cool1:

The new one is reported to be $65 and he is wearing a tux.
http://laughingplacestore.com/Product-5921.asp has them for order on the internet, but they are charging more.

and was told that I couldn't order the new one till May 1st. It's $65 plus shipping. I guess I'll call back then. My DD wants it for her 7th bday in June. We aren't going to WDW till Thanksgiving - Hope he'll last....

My DS 6yo at the time LOVEd his Pal Mickey and i think the rest of the adults in our group enjoyed him too. He was well worth hte money. :earsboy:

We arrived at WDW a week ago (on Friday, 04/22). We purchased Pal Mickey at the Poly Gift Shop.

We tested him out that evening at dinner, by pressing his hand; he would tell a joke or give us some trivia.

The next morning, we took him with us to MGM. We had spent several hours there and realized he hadn't giggled or laughed or given us any trivia on the park. We then discovered (to our horror and amusement!) that we had not officially turned him "on". You need to unzip his tuxedo and turn the switch to "on", or he won't 'read' the sensors at the various parks he's at!

We had to walk back to the front gate at MGM and 're-enter' the park to get him to know where he was; once we did this, he never stopped talking! :rotfl:

Some times, he was helpful; it gave my 5-year old DD something to play with in the long lines. But other times, he talked too much and we wanted to muzzle him!

I was amazed at the technology, though; he DID know to be quiet in the shows!

But, learn from my lesson - TURN HIM ON!!!! :rotfl:
