My daughter is wanting an IPhone, but I wonder if it is worth the extra 30 bucks a month? Is it?

BTW, it is my adult daughter....I was gonna get her the phone as a gift and she will pay the bill.

My DH has it. I think it is cool. His former boss is still paying for it. Which is even cooler. (It was a business phone that he could not cancel the contract.)

I was going to say "no" as I thought you were speaking of a "child"--but since she is an adult and if it is something she has requested it, then I think it is a good phone to get.

I don't want to pay for it, so I don't have it. I just like my cell phones to call people. But I do get on DH's phone every now and then when I want or need to look up something while I am out and about.

My sister loves her and she can well afford to pay the charges every month. I enjoy playing with it when we go places. We sat at Downtown Disney (Calif.) and checked our e-mail while my son played at ESPN Zone. I would love to have the ability to do that all the time but don't want the extra expense above what my regular cell service costs.

i love my iphone but make sure you get everything unlimited or she will be paying a high bill..can be pretty expensive

I love my iPhone.
Love it.
I really don't think I'll ever use a different kind of phone again.

do you mind giving me a ballpark of what "unlimited" may cost?

I don't want to imagine life without my iPhone. The thing is so darn useful that it's ridiculous. DH and I were searching high and low one night for a leveler (we were putting together some shelves) and then I realized, "There's an app for that!"

:rotfl2:

I'm in love with my iPhone :lovestruc. Considering how much I use it, it was well worth the money. The AT&T service is bad, it's the worst reception I've ever had and the most overpriced plan I've ever had, however, the iPhone itself is great and I can't imagine ever going back to any other phone or pda. The benefits of having the iPhone outweigh the costs of being with AT&T. I'm hoping when the exclusive contract with AT&T ends that Apple will open it up to other carriers.

If you get it for her she will love it :thumbsup2.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this phone. Mine is a company phone but even if I had to pay for it, I'd think it is well worth it.

This. I LOVE IT. I love it more than is probably necessary or even decent; I don't care. I had 2 different BlackBerries before it and cannot even begin to imagine going back now. This device does absolutely everything I need it to do, including being my primary mp3 player at the gym. The apps are limitless and if your daughter is at all inclined toward technogeekiness, jailbreaking the device adds a whole other dimension to customization and fun. :thumbsup2

I absolutely LOVE my iPhone and use it all the time. I'm able to check my email anywhere (for both of my email accounts), I the internet all the time....it's AWESOME!! My DH and DS10 have one as well.

I am so far from being a tekkie, and I absolutely LOVE my iPhone!! They make everything so darn customer friendly it's not even funny. I just spent a week in the hospital with my oldest son, don't know what I would have done without it, as he was sleeping so much of the time and it gave me something to do to pass the time. I wonder though, you are paying for her upgrade, yes? Because to pay full price is out of the question, it's like 500.00, right?

I love my iphone too. It does nearly everything. If I am lost, I can type in an address and get a map. If I am waiting for an appointment, I can go online and surf the net or play games. I have even used it as a flashlight. I have my itunes music on it. I can watch movies on it. I can't imagine using any other type of phone ever again.

I got DH one for Christmas and gave it to him early. He loves it. The reception is better than his last phone.

The guy I am seeing has one, he loves it, but says the reception is horrible

I have never had a problem with my reception. I've always been able to get a signal and everything sounds clear. I guess it just depends on where you live.

I have loved mind for 2 years. My DD and I are both getting the new 3gs for Christmas as our contract is up !!!!!!! My DH allready has a 3gs. We are a complete iPhone family :)

I love my iphone. I can't imagine having any other cell phone. :thumbsup2

Long story short, I was with Sprint for years but we had a falling out over customer service issues so I got rid of my Pre. I went and got a iPhone and after four days realized how horribly bad their network was and how slow the 3g is, I switched back to Sprint and got a Hero. I couldn't be happier now with a phone. While I liked the iPhone, I actually prefer the Google based Android platform better, and its much faster. My wife on the other hand loves her iPhone, but she has never had a internet phone with another provider so she doesnt realize how slow it is.
