Does anyone have any suggestions for passport photos? I called Target which states the first one is $10.99 for the first and $7.00 for any after that. Anyone know of any other good prices?

Thanks,

Deb

Actually, that's a pretty good price, from what I found. We went to one of the photo shops in the mall, and paid $9.95 each for our passport photos.

AAA charges $8.00 for the first set and $5.00 for each set after that for regular members and someone posted that premium members (I forget what that type of membership was called) gives you the first few sets free.

I started a thread on Passport Fees changing on 8/19/02 and within that thread, several options for getting passport photos were discussed.

Here's a link to that thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=242870

I do recall that Walgreens and Eckards were cheaper than $10 and that if you are a member of the AAA it was reasonable, especially if you have AAA Plus.

hope that helps

I can't remember where I read it, but if you're a member of AAA they offer passport photos very reasonably and if you're an AAA Plus Member you get the first 3 pictures for free and it is $6 per person after that. HTH

I posted this elsewhere earlier and I promise I don't work for Walgreens or own any of their stock. Their passport photos are $7.99 a set plus tax. No discount on multiple sets.

Eckerd Drug Stores are 2 pictures for $8.00. :p

As someone who works for AAA. It all depends what state you are in for the cost. Not all AAA photo are the same price. Here in Az the 1st set is 10.00 and 20.00 if you are not a member. If you are a plus member the 1st set (2 photos) is free and then 10.00 for every set after that. I know here in AZ Walgreens photo's are 7.99. Hope that helps.

I was the one who posted about AAA here in Toledo--we have AAA Plus and our first three sets are free, then the other two are $6 each. If you are in AAA I'd still call there first. 10 days left for photos and applications, so if there is a turnaround time that may also be an issue.

I'm going to tell you where NOT to go. Yes, my dad badgered me to get a pass port, since the rates were going up, and a couple of weeks ago I stopped in The Camera Shop for this purpose. They took a digital photo and printed a sheet of 8, then proceeded to charge me $15.95. If I had known, I would have gone somewhere else! The photos are fine, but they weren't worth $16!:D

As a side note, I handed it a completed app, which means I spent less time at the passport office. One thing I did not know (first time passport application) is that they take your birth certificate, and it gets returned to you with the passport. Just an FYI.

it's been a while since i got our photos, but i think we got them at walgreens for a set under $10, and this was a good deal since all three of us were getting passport photos.

I called my local Costco in Texas today after reading from Cruella, and they DO take passport photos for $5.99 a pair. NOT bad. When my husband was still a Mexican citizen, he had to get photos for his mexican passport. We paid like $12.99 at Target for TWO, and you need 3, so we had to do TWO SETS, so $24!! I'll be going to Costco's for ours. I'm getting us ALL passports before the price goes up $25.

If you have a digital camera you can do them yourself pretty easy. I just did my youngest daughters passport pictures with no problem. Just use your printer to print two pictures that are a size of 2 x 2.

Doombuggy..............are you talking about the Camera Shop in Carlisle, PA? If so..........HOWDY!!!!

Took the kids to Costco last night and had passport photos for them in 8 minutes for $4.99 a set! And they look great too! You wouldn't believe what we usually go through trying to get good pics of our 2 and 4 year old!

I should have known Costco would come through!

Thanks everyone!

I just checked with AAA in SF Bay Area. They charge members $6 for each set of 2 photos.

I just applied for my passport this past weekend and had my picture taken at the acceptance office. It was $10, and I didn't have to make an extra trip someplace else!
