Who has the best pizza?

Ah hah NJMouse! I AM who you think I am! D and I will challenge you to a neighborhood pizza contest any time! Of course, anywhere in NJ where good Italian folks have settled will have better pizza than anywhere else in the country!

ok Barbeml we will take that challenge but it can't be until we get back from WDW we leave on the 30th of April and get back late May 9th. Oh by the way Tramp gets his ride everyday to work with M. Thanks again!!!. Telll D I said HI!

If you have a car there is Pizzeria Uno, in the Crossings shopping center just down from the Downtown Disney area hotels. I am a New Jersey girl, so "Chicago Style" pizza is not my favorite, but their deep dish pie is good. They offer a small thin crust pie as well, and one is perfect for 2 children to share. They also have great salads and yummy desserts at less-than-Disney prices.

We also do takeout from PizzaHut and Papa John's. You can dial 0 for the WDW operators and they will give you the numbers for these places.

You guys are making me hungry. I live in Indiana now and the pizza sucks. Can't wait for a real NJ pie when I visit the folks this summer!

I agree-----Pizza in Florida leaves a lot to be desired!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been living down here for a year and a half and can't find DECENT PIZZA!!!! Can't wait to head back up to the Jersey Shore this Summer for a real PIE!!!!!!!

The best Pizza is at the Reservoir Tavern in Parsippany, NJ. It is a family run business that has been around for a very long time. They even make their own Sausage. My husband and I are in our late fifties and have had many a Pizza in our day and this is by far the best that we have found!!!!!!!!!

Don't want to start a "religious" war, particularly given that I'm a fan of both Chicago-style and thin-crust (do you say "New York" or "Jersey" style?), but Giordano's and Pizzeria Uno both make good Chicago-style pizzas. Both are branches of Chicago-founded operations. My philosophy is to order the pizza style for which a particular operation is well-known. I see no reason to expect them to do well at some style that doesn't come natural to them. I have a hard time with both Pizza Hut and Dominos pizza. In fact, the pizza from the window at Spoodles is probably better than either of these, although I found Spoodles to be better in the restaurant than from the window. If someone knows of a really good thin crust pizza in Florida, let us know. I'm thinking of something with a crust about the thickness of a saltine. If I go for thin crust, I want it really thin :) .

Personally, I never say "Jersey" :) That's the place in England, right? I live in New Jersey. :teeth:

Good luck finding thin crust pizza in Florida! If you do, let us know. :)

There is no good pizza in the state of Florida.

Its not that bad but close. There are a number around Orlando just not real close to WDW.:( Lil Anthony's,
NYPD are two of my favorites in the area. Fiorino New York Pizzeria & Italian on 192 Kissimmee is supposed to be good for thin. Haven't tried it.
In Celebration is the Upper Crust Pizza Shop. It has both NY thin and Sicilian.

Not nearby but if you ever head to the East Coast Beaches on 192:eek:straight through Melbourne until you hit the Ocean is a place called Bizarro's Pizza in Indialantic. Very well known and surfer hangout. It hits the spot for messy, gooey thin crust lovers.Imho one of the best around.:):):)

Love Wolfgang Pucks "non traditional" pizzas .Do not like Pizza Planet.

Wolfgang Pucks are wonderful. There is also a wide variety of the types they serve...they cook in like 3 minutes in that oven they have.

I also like the Spoodles Pizza.

We haven't found any great pizza in WDW either. Don't forget, Connecticut has some pretty excellent pizza as well...New Haven is famous for it, but where I live we are more influenced by New York style. There is also a LARGE italian population around here (at LEAST 20 different pizza places within 2 miles of my home!!!).

From what I recall however the two BEST pies I've EVER had in my life were from New Haven (not Pepes, but a small local joint I can't remember the name) and in Hoboken, NJ at "Five Star" pizza (Hoboken is a very hip little city BTW).

WDW is better for "California-style" pizza, i.e. "flatbreads" at California Grille and Wolfgang Pucks in my opinion. But for the real deal, you have to head for the tri-state area of NY, NJ, and CT.
