Who has stayed in Rapa Nui?

After reading reviews of the Poly in which first room floors are described as having a horrible odor, I am VERY concerned. My Mom and Dad are staying in Rapa Nui beginning July 12 and I would hate for them to have a bad experience, considering I recommended this to them They have requested a first floor room! Does anyone have a review of this building's first floor?

My mom is in a wheel chair - so Rapa Nui was our only option. We stayed there June 4-8 -- and we did not notice any odor at all in either of our first floor rooms. Do not worry.

Be sure to have them ask to be located on the courtyard side so that they don't face the construction. By the way, while the building was a bit of a treck to the GCH and pools, it was really close to the TTC so we could get to buses and monorails really quickly.

Hope they have a fun trip.

Thanks for your reassurance, Joshua! I am just concerned. My mother can let a small thing ruin her day! I would hate to think of what would happen if she got a stinky room with a bad view

What do you mean by "the courtyard"? Is that the area facing the Tahiti building? And is the construction you are referring to the renovations on the other buildings? The request we made was for a first floor room facing the Tahiti building, because that is where we are staying and because they didn't want to face the parking lot.

Yes, facing the Tahiti building and not facing the parking lot. I think any room along that side would be fine.

Just curious--how do you know they will be staying in that longhouse? Can you know your room location before you arrive, or do you mean that's what they've requested? We're staying there in October.
